  1. We still haven't learnt what the main course was . CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE ;)
  2. Oooohhhh, little trickle down cheek. One gorgeous girl deserves another. I have a little rescue at the moment who does that to me, too. He is positively ancient, walks like a komodo dragon his legs are so bent, but when I saw him on the website listed as 15 and knew he would die and be thrown in a tip or something, I just couldn't bear it to happen. So I adopted him and for the first few days, the poor little fellow could hardly lift his head off the doggy bed. But now I watch him totter around the back yard and I just feel that whomp in my heart and tummy. A while ago, I walked into the kitchen and he RAN towards me. Yes, it is wonderful.
  3. That's my main (LOL) concern too. Get real SwaY.
  4. Oh wow ! Xavier was just sooooo gorgeous. Is he over his lead shyness? Sorry I know this is OT, but how can I forget how he stood on the back seat (harnessed of course) watching between the two front seats?
  5. Such excitement .... as the years go by, we all "know" more and more of the nominees. Have a fabulous time everyone. (I wasn't "freed" soon enough to try for the seat next to Troy LOL LOL.) I'll join you in the bubbly, GSD's, and wish you good luck.
  6. I have a very good little "bum bag" with lots of little compartments, but it is the drinks holder that sways me to taking a look in Aldo. It was so hot this summer that I had to carry a bottle of water and a fold up water bag for the dogs. Carrying a water bottle and trying to walk and pick up after 4-5 dogs can be a bit tricky. LOL.
  7. Truly sickening. Poor Milo having that happen to him. Too horrible. Nothing will bring him back, and only time with lessen the horror, but never erase it. However, I can't imagine wanting to keep dogs who can injure a solid little horse to the extent he has to be PTS. Sadly some people just see that as a plus for some dogs. My deepest sympathies to everyone who knew and loved Milo.
  8. I'M BAAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK and can now say how happy I am that Luki has pulled through and how lucky he is that he caught the eye of K9A. :D I just wish we could know how his kennel mates have fared .
  9. Have to agree that you contact PAWS. I cannot imagine either Denise or Ronda not wanting to help you in your current predicament.
  10. There are supposedly rules for advertising on Pet Rescue, but then they were trialling advertising pets in pounds who don't desex so I am not sure how committed they are to that rule. And there are rules for "advertising" in the rescue forum on DOL as well. And if anyone posts about a dog looking for a home who isn't desexed, they are jumped on from a great height and so they should be. Generally, when they realise that a dog must be desexed, they are happy to comply or at least say they will. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, good luck with you "working on" the owner, Loraine.
  11. I'm so glad you posted here. I read about Tyra's adventures and the lost of two of the babies, but of course when I went to respond, I couldn't. You must have gone on an absolute rollercoaster of emotions - I was sad enough . But excited too that little Faith is presenting so well.
  12. I'm enjoying using FFS. Let's me let off steam without being norty.
  13. The receptionist should have told him to put his dog on a lead or wait in the car and she would call him when it was his turn. Most places have signs up saying that dogs should be on a lead and cats in crates.
  14. I was making a list for what I needed to do in the garden and couldn't for the life of me remember Cordylines. I have lots of them and a couple in pots I need to transplant into the garden. Eventually popped into my head when I'd stopped OMG OMG I'm losing it
  15. Perhaps you need to let Pets Purgatory know the price that K-Mart sells SWF.
  16. That reminds me of a lawyers question to a witness: How could you tell the victim was dead? Pathologist: Because his brain was in a dish on the bench. I have to say that when I see a foster poo for the first time, I go racing down to see if there are any wrigglies in it Slightly off topic, sorry, but the lawyer story is so funny and apparently was from a real case.. ...as quoted below from the court recorder; Q: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse? A: No. Q: Did you check for blood pressure? A: No. Q: Did you check for breathing? A: No. Q: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy? A: No. Q: How can you be so sure, Doctor? A: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar. Q: But could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless? A: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere. Sorry for stealing the thread, hope you have a good laugh. OT Again . I was sent a heap the other day and just about made my dogs orphans, I was laughing so much.
  17. Yes, "my dog and me" is correct in that instance - LOL. I won't go into the details of subjective case and objective case ;) ;) , but a quick way to work out whether you use "I" or "me" is to take away the other part of the phrase, in this case "my dog and". You wouldn't say: I cannot thank and praise the volunteers at Duthie Park Dog Obedience enough for all the help they have given I..... The sentence can be constructed differently to show where "My dog and I" is correct: My dog and I have become a great team, thanks to the volunteers at Duthie Park Dog Obedience enough for all the help they have given. In the first sentence, objective case; in the second sentence, subjective case. Here endeth the lesson and congratulations for getting published. :p
  18. Congratulations :p . (.... "my dog and me" would be correct in some instances, eg something something for my dog and me. LOL )
  19. Where do you get the cobwebs? Aren't I a baitch - LOL. That is absolutely awesome !! Wish you lived around the corner from me :D . I can hardly hammer in a nail, successfully that is.
  20. That reminds me of a lawyers question to a witness: How could you tell the victim was dead? Pathologist: Because his brain was in a dish on the bench. I have to say that when I see a foster poo for the first time, I go racing down to see if there are any wrigglies in it ;)
  21. Sadly, they so often do. However, you have been given plenty of good ideas by the people who aren't interested in soley their own concerns, so hopefully that helped. Ditto. Yep totally EVIL. I hope she and her hubby manage a holiday this year with no kids within 1000km.
  22. I am so tired of the attitude of some people that if something doesn't cater for them, that something is just plain wrong and/or discriminating against them and should be punished. If I go into a nightclub and it is filled with young people being young, rowdy, uninhibited, and I don't like it because it doesn't suit me, is that place discriminating against me? No, I chose to go into a place that wasn't suitable for my age group and requirements. So if there is any fault, it is with me. So if an accommodation place wants to set itself up as dog friendly, no children please, if anyone with children wants to go there and feels slighted because they can't - well tough cheddar. The majority of places are PET free and to have some that are opening up specifically to cater for people who want to holiday with their pets is just great. In my opinion, in all facets of life and social relations, anti discrimination has gone too far.
