  1. Thanks for all the help with finding a ticket for Sunday but it seems Stella's owner already has a ticket for me for Sunday so will be out there bright & early to watch Stella (Weownah Hot Gossip GD) in her final runs.
  2. Can anyone tell me how to get a ticket for Sunday? I want to come out and watch a girl that I bred compete in the finals for Novice Jumping. So proud of her and her owner on winning two medals on Tuesday and three more today
  3. Hi, can anyone tell me where they buy their chalk powder from? The place where I used to get 2kg for $9 is now not stocking it anymore. I tried doing a search on google but nothing was coming up.
  4. Did they fight over who got to lick the bowl? Very cute photo :)
  5. Serena's work is fantastic. Sure do miss the "Rocco & Ralph" photos that she used to upload here. They are still my favourite pair and always bought a chuckle to the day. Was very sad when Rocco passed away - he was such an amazing character.
  6. I enjoy having my dogs meet & greet with the public as long as I am not just going in the ring. My dogs enjoy it too especially my boy - he will let people pat and then walk along so the next person has a turn  I remember one Royal when I grabbed a child's hand before it could land on my girl's white collar and said "sorry, you will have to wash your hands first". The mother looked a bit miffed until I turned the child's hand over - it was yellow from the face paint. I would not have worried but we were just getting ready to go into the ring. Most of the adults & kids ask if they can pat & I am OK with that. I was a little worried with some of the people at the Pet Expo this year - they seem to think it is OK to grab either side of the dog's head & then eye ball it whilst talking. Thankfully my dogs were OK although I kept a close eye. I was a bit sorry this year that my bench was not where the public could get a pat so took them over the Dogs NSW stand after we had been judged for about an hour so people could have a pat. It is lovely hearing people tell their stories about dogs they might have had as kids or giving sympathy to those who have just lost a dog.
  7. Normally get asked "Oh, are they miniature collies" Me: No they are Shetland Sheepdogs OP: Ohh Me: From the Shetland Islands, like Shetland ponies You normally then get the "must take hours of brushing" No only about 20 minutes once a week. Love some of the replies
  8. Thanks for putting up the results so quickly One day I will attend General Specials and get to watch in person :)
  9. Good luck to those attending General Specials today
  10. Oh Hesa I am so sorry to hear that you had to make that decision.
  11. Hesa, maybe cut back on one of their feeds - maybe they are getting too much. Hope you it clear it up soon - always a worry when they are a little bit sick.
  12. We were at a show once & I yelled out to ex-hubbie "Can you get Rambo for me?" Imagine the surprise on a few faces when out comes a sheltie  Not sure what type of breed they were expecting.
  13. Also, when brushing between baths, mist the coat with a spray of water to stop hair from splittng. You can add a few drops of lavender oil to make her smell nice too. Have attached a page from sheltie grooming book which explains line brushing. I always start from the neck of the dog and work my down one side, then stand dog up and do back, then lay down on the other side.
  14. I had no trouble switching my shelties over from Advance to BH and believe me, it doesn't take much to upset tummies in a couple of mine. They have been on BH for over six months now and love it. One of the girls will have to be cut back a bit as she is getting quite tubby :)
  15. Well, she will be a font of knowledge now ;)
  16. Five shelties ranging in age from 13 years old to 19 months old (five generations) :)
  17. My oldest girl does this when my mum & dad come to visit - walks towards mum with a limp & of course mum says "Oh poor Brandi, have you got a sore leg?" Brandi stands there waving her paw around lapping up the sympathy  She is a very good actress - drops the head & shoulders etc
  18. Just a suggestion - the link in the first page needs to be changed to the new web addy :) Still has the old one.
  19. The mum also needs to be confined by a puppy pen around the whelping box. Since she is so young, it may take a few days for the mother instinct to kick in but if she has the choice of just ignoring and doing what she wants, she will.
  20. Is she feeding from the back or the front (top) teats? The milk seems to come through better on the bottom ones. Did they give her any antibiotics? I am just asking as since the other whelps were starting to break down, there may be some infection. She looks like she has good sucking reflex going. I do hope she continues to grow and is a stunner for you.
  21. I think you will also find that quite a lot of clubs are invited but just can't be bothered. Too much trouble to give up a few hours to promote their breeds. Sure it is quite tiring being there for two days running but it is also very rewarding - it gives the public a chance to meet the breeds up close and have a chance to chat, take some photos, shed a few tears about their dogs who have passed. All dogs today were very well behaved and quite a few of the clubs go to a lot of trouble setting up their stalls
  22. I will be there on Saturday helping on the Dogs NSW stand and my sheltie will be helping out on the sheltie stand ;) You might be best to get there early as the crowd does build as the day goes on. There are displays happening all through the day so lots to see :)
  23. So sorry jr_inoz I think we can all understand what you are feeling at the moment. Glad to hear that Rommy is OK.
