  1. Time will tell. I did :) - having only skimmed the thread it made me go back and check what had been actually been written (it seems rather rude and childish to alter someones words when quoting, so I wanted to clarify what had or had not been said) Someone on the internet offended me. Oh the horror!Fact is there a A LOT of corrupt police officers who lie through their teeth. That's common knowledge. Before you put words in my mouth. I said a lot, not all. ;) For you, Reverend Jo. I clearly stated a lot, not all. Only after you were pulled up for saying "Police also lie their heads off". Your original post was an offensive generalisation and you only added the "A LOT" after having that pointed out.
  2. Do you know the difference between having an opinion and claiming something as fact? You made the claim that police were corrupt and you had evidence, youtube videos
  3. Police also lie their heads off - until they realise the incident was recorded. Fixed that for you. Where is the "some police" or even "a lot of police"? You clearly meant to generalise. I noticed you haven't commented on whether you've ever called the police. Point me in the direction I said all police are corrupt. I already have. Do you need pictures?
  4. It might also be a safety issue. If they are dealing with people who may be violent they may not want to be distracted by a dog that is out of control if sprayed with capsicum spray or down with a taser, which does wear off. I am sorry that the poor dog was shot but if the owners had him contained it wouldn't have happened.
  5. Having an understanding of the problems that the police face doesn't make you a sheep. It makes you a compassionate human being. If I believed everything I read in the paper I would be convinced that all bull breeds are dangerous, we all know the media get it wrong with BSL but you'll automatically take their word as gospel because you have a bias against the police. Try living in a world with no police, then you might appreciate having them around.
  6. The friends of the owners (neighbours) are hardly likely to say anything else though. I also question the owners knowledge of dogs, see below. I'm pretty sure that when you die your muscles relax. Maybe the owner is one of those people that yell out don't worry he's friendly as their dog barrels towards yours on the attack. If he was relaxed and showing no aggression he wouldn't have been shot. The fact is the dog wasn't contained and the officer was sufficiently concerned about his welfare to discharge his weapon. They don't do that lighting as there is basically an investigation each time it happens. We also don't know the reasons for their visit, one of the most dangerous situations is going to a house as it's the most unpredictable. If you have verified information that proves the dog did not approach them aggressively then feel free to post it.
  7. Well since you've had such a negative experience and believe that all police are corrupt you won't be needing their help again so I hope you don't call them. Having a brother who is a cop and a son who is going into the force makes me have no respect for people who have this attitude.
  8. Police also lie their heads off - until they realise the incident was recorded. Fixed that for you. Where is the "some police" or even "a lot of police"? You clearly meant to generalise. I noticed you haven't commented on whether you've ever called the police.
  9. Police also lie their heads off - until they realise the incident was recorded. Fixed that for you. Whoa there Nelly, I hope you have never called the police and never will if you are in trouble.
  10. Any dog that comes at you with the intention to tear your dog apart is fair game. If it takes that to save your own dog then so be it. We are talking about having your dog killed in front of you, it's serious. I'd take a cattle prod with me if it were legal, my dog's welfare comes first over some nuf nuf's out of control dog.
  11. If people would follow the law those of us with reactive dogs might actually be able to go out with them sometimes. All we ask is that others keep their dogs on lead in areas when it it is an on lead area! We should all be free to walk without being approached by other dogs. It's obvious that a lot of dogs are accidents waiting to happen with the old don't worry he's friendly crap when it's obvious the owner can't recognise a dog ready for a fight.
  12. There seems to be far more nuf nufs around than ever before. I limit where mine go, a decent size dog could kill my shih tzu pretty quickly and if in quiet prey drive be on him before I could intervene. These nuf nufs have no idea about their own dog's behaviour and zero respect for others and their numbers are increasing! What I really want is an umbrella shaped cattle prod
  13. So you like my doggie DD, I think he is a stunner too but I'm a bit biased
  14. The biggest problem with AR footage is that there is no guarantee that conditions haven't been manipulated and it is also edited to make the place look as bad as possible. Who says that is what conditions are really like? If those are night kennels then I hope no one complaining crates their dog at night either. Why aren't the AR people out raiding all the bad rescues around the place as well?
  15. It will be very interesting to see how this develops. I do think her being a breeder got her more charges than say Moorook, a hell hole that happens to be called a shelter. I am not saying excuse any wrong doing just that her conditions weren't much different to Moorook's but there are a lot more charges.
  16. Koalas have been attacked by dogs since dogs have been here, it's nothing new. I think someone is just trying to fill space in their paper and creating some drama.
  17. That is a good example of the type of SLR that is worth having. Spotmatics are awesome cameras. The low end consumer models though of any brand you can barely give away though. Even though Spotmatics are good I'd check the average price because I think you will find the service cost will exceed the value. if you are interested in getting into photography you should keep it and learn with it
  18. I also wouldn't trust it unless it included information from the actual ANKC papers.
  19. It's not how nice she is in person or how well she can make you think she is taking things on board. It's her ethics that are in question and so far no one can reason with her on those. If she was as genuine as she pretends to be she would be open to improving. Breaking the law and encouraging others to do so just doesn't mean ethical to me. We don't have to be nice to do good rescue so her personality is pointless in this context.
  20. Ted Bundy was quite lovely to those he didn't kill as well
  21. I highly doubt she is interested in doing things the right way, if she was she would have listened to all the advice she got before she started a FB hate page  It's a shame she is still operating, the grey people don't need cowboys.
  22. Well they aren't left field questions, we have discussed this at length for a number of years. Essentially no one polices them. You'll have a few people who insist that the minister is the higher power but that route is fundamentally flawed. What happens is a person complains to the minister, the minister asks the rspca what is going on, rspca say all is fine, minster won't act. No one who claims the minister will act has ever tried it so going by experience of those involved they answer to no one currently.
  23. Yep, so I guess it's proceeding to trial. I can't find anything anywhere released yet in the papers either.
  24. Thanks for posting that BL. I haven't heard anything yet about what happened yesterday. I have emailed Loxton council to see if they are still allowing her to take dogs from them as there are two stories about the council dogs still going there, one they aren't, one they are. She really has no intention of capping numbers even with no resources to look after what she has so no change from her. She isn't allowed to take donations, her assets are frozen and she could have the council come in any day and demand most animals are removed, yet she still sees no problem with taking more animals.
  25. It's tomorrow. The Moorook camp are in denial, the council has released some minutes from one of their meetings that show they have made it clear that they won't be supporting the shelter and the tone is they will be shutting it down. Then there is also the matter of Lola having all her assets frozen as she is under investigation, don't know which agency yet. If she survives the rspca court case the council will close her or restrict her to the point she will close herself. Then she has to survive whatever action there is that caused her assets to be frozen. You can't ignore the law for nearly 20 years and not expect to get caught.
