  1. aah, yes, you need to resize them to 300 kb or below in size, sorry .
  2. I have a companion Koolie called CLIVE . he is 3.5 yrs old and has had minimal training, and no early socialisation to humans , really as we live isolated, and for a greater part of his life there was COVID . He never goes to town or anything like that . BUT he is a people addict ;) he adores visitors . That said - I am continually impressed by his behaviour around them ...he is 9 times out of 10 absolutely appropriate. there is no jumping, no begging, no 'annoying' ..and the only times he has been defensive is when he first met small children (it ended with one kissing him on the nose) We can have a group for a meal outside, and he will stick with me mostly - or perhaps find his favouriite person for a pat...leaving everyone else alone . he very quickly works out who to approach and who to leave alone , and respects that totally. he gets SO excited when we have return guests who he loves- almost turns inside out when his favourite people appear ....it is so cute Clive is also a great dog inside - he has NEVER stolen any food off a table/bench, or out of a bin (cat food on the floor is fair game apparently) , and I can go out and leave him for short periods , knowing the bin will not be overturned! He has trained himself brilliantly- I have had no hand in any of this - I am just so very lucky! Oh - he is also a very caring boy - if I talk in my sleep or whatever in the night, he will poke at me with a paw and wake me up - if I am unwell he sticks to me like glue , and most times, he walks alongside the rollator & I as if he had been taught to heel (he hasn't) . To make you feel better- add a couple of other dogs to the mix and he is a heedless, noisy ratbag!! LOL he LOVES teasing and annoying everyone the beast :P I love my weird boy .
  3. My dogs LOVE the rabbit ears I buy them a lot .They are more crunchy rather than chewy for big dogs , but for a puppy they'd be fine , being dried and non living they would not be associated with your furry friends (do you have photos of pup and bunnies together ? )
  4. as in beaten up/bitten by the bitch who gave birth to her? Just a note- but an important one. Some dogs, like people, can be BORN WITH nervous temperaments. They can be worriers/anxious and needy , without anything bad happening to them .
  5. And it won't, as your PUPPY isn't acting out of any sexually motivated aggression - he is nowhere near mature yet . For a puppy to be acting so , it is something that he has learned early on , and now he needs to learn to CONTROL it . Obedience classes probably won't address it - you may want to enlist the help of a professional one-on -one trainer recommended by someone on here , Explain the situation to them, and let them help, by doing specific things.
  6. It's good you are recognising this trouble now and seeking advice many folks don't! Sadly, dog parks are full of bullies - dogs and people . I, too would avise training for your boy ..and maybe herding classes instead of dog park outings He doesn't NEED to run around with unknown dogs . What he does need is how to learn control..... and herding will let him use his instincts and learn control . he will be using what he's bred for There are some DOLers who could maybe tell you where herding is near you if you are interested . By the way he IS hurting these pups. He is teaching them that other dogs are not to be trusted. he is damaging their socialisation...and teaching them that perhaps they need to get in first next time, to be more protective themselves .It is a vicious (literally) circle.
  7. natalie- Snicker's 'blog' could be a really fun read for some - and I am sure there are places it will fit well I hope grandma doesn't lose her shoes !

  9. Ricey, This is awful news I am so sorry to read it - and feel for you. Keisha has been so important for you - a lifeline. take care - give Keisha a skritch from me .
  10. If it has hair in it, I wouldn't worry too much - possibly just pigment changes as she grows ...obviously if you are concerned, a Vet is the best course of action ! Internet "diagnoses" are just ideas ;)
  11. I hope your Mum buys you your own yummy chews - cow hooves, or deer antlers, or deer ears ...things like that
  12. please walk him EARLY , not long after sunrise before the sun has time to heat up the ground!! That's the sensible thing to do. It sounds as though your poor dog is getting burnt and sore feet .....
  13. and walk him EARLY in the morning before the sun heats up the footpath!!
  14. Snickers....you have good taste, but Aunty needs to clear the buffet table ! Too much of a good thing, & all that !
  15. How old is your dog ? How long have you had him, and where did he come from ? (breeder, pet shop, rescue, etc )
  16. That dog is huge in comparison to a small child, and looks very different to 'her' border collie
  17. It's just that so many people have never learned, or have forgotten that dogs CAN be aggressive ..they have a different way of behaving to humans - and need to be understood and treated differently .
  18. Our dogs love grass when they can get it (dry part of the world ) they graze like the sheep some days! LOL
  19. CORRECT LINK A Murray Mallee woman accused of keeping 300 dogs in squalid conditions on a puppy farm has told an Adelaide court the animals' maintenance was her ex-partner's responsibility. Key points: Kerrie Fitzpatrick is on trial accused of animal cruelty offences She told the Adelaide Magistrates Court that she was not responsible for caring for the dogs The RSPCA told the court that inspectors found dead rats in the kennels Kerrie Fitzpatrick, 45, is charged with animal cruelty offences including ill-treating an animal and failing to comply with animal welfare notices in 2018. She and her former partner Colin Ross were allegedly found in possession of over 300 animals during an RSPCA inspection in October 2018, despite the local council permitting the breeders to own no more than 100.
