  1. My Puddenhead ? he does indeed have a shallow cleft ....along with the other genetic errors that make him 'speshal' .... well spotted ;) he's also SO much like his maternal Grandma Caillie ... he has her 'look' when he watches us ... and his thick bones /general build are a lot like hers Actually looking at that pic - she appears to have a depression /beginnings of a cleft in her nose too .
  2. When mozzies are bad here , I hang mozzie coils around :) LOOK and HERE these holders are just brilliant!!! not sure what you could put on a small puppy ... maybe a TINY dab of roll-on aerogard on his ears?
  3. :) Good for her! I had a dachsieX many years ago who worked sheep in teh yards/on trucks :)
  4. if the car and facilities are airconditioned , I would ....surely they dog would not be dried with heat ..why not ask the groomer ?
  5. rabbit is a 'whiter' meat than goat /lamb/beef . almost no fat ...maybe that & chicken?
  6. having seen many dog bite injuries to other dogs/stock .. a dog bite on the cheek - in my mind it would have torn out muscle etc as well ? The lady appears to have no problem speaking etc ... *sigh* I hate being cynical .... sometimes.
  7. Must admit to wondering about the facial/neck wound/s .. no swelling or bruising visible ...and it appears to be put back together neatly .. seems to have been plenty of skin The arm def looks like dog bite wounds owwwwww..
  8. You can try changing diet ..NO grains/sugars /artificial anything. Find another vet .. IF your bitch is not too far along in the pregnancy - and you are not a registered breeder , yes, consider an abortion/spey for your girl, so HER health can be monitored and helped . It's not really fair on her to have to cope with these problems, esp if she is pregnant Unfortunately, too - she will possibly pass on her sensitivity to pups ...
  9. Great pics, T !! That looks an amazing spot :)
  10. Thank you for the very positive update ! :)
  11. Oh ..and browse around THIS THREAD! there is a massive amount of info within !!
  12. WSM - Sounding good . maybe practice walking at heel , sitting etc in the yard for a while before venturing out ? may be gentler on the limbs ;)
  13. That roo was watching ME ;) all 3 (there were a few more I missed) were all just eating ....
  14. We're pleased - she was a nice settled and biddable girl ..but we had nothing for her . We don't often rehome adults ... but she & this young man seemed to get along ..and after she got to his place she 'protected' him from a couple of his drunk mates ;) ( really was just her being a tad nervous I think - but he was pleased . ;)
  15. happy pack !! Lovely spot to walk :)
  16. Ess, sister of Don . Ess ( now BESS) is living with a stock contractor - which means lots of yard work , and her own human to protect . She was never interested in goats - the main stock worked here nowdays ...and preferred yard work , of which there's not a lot , to the miles & more miles of hard paddock work . So - now she has her own human and plenty of her preferred work . So far, so good :)
  17. it is all interesting .. I love watching how working methods in particular carry down generations .. the amount of 'eye' .whether a dog works wide or close ..tends to be bitey or not ...what a dog prefers- yard, paddock, sheep, goat ....even which way they innately prefer to 'cast' to teh left or right ... Most of ours tend to 'air snap' for attention - that's carried down from the maternal great great grandma :) ..
  18. I am so glad he's OK .. and yes, there could easily have been a much sadder end to the story ! Thanks for the update .
