  1. so ... has he had a good check by the vet ? it may be something else other than arthritis ..heart/other pain, failing senses .....
  2. When we were bitten as kids , we were the ones punished , and asked what we did to deserve it ! No bad bites but they did break skin sometimes ...
  3. Glad everyone's happier :)
  4. YES :) or a peanut butter sandwich :) This works well with ourdogs..and is dead easy . That and/or some of the soft and fattier lamb flaps .
  5. I usually give it after whelping , esp around the 3-6 week mark ... as well as good calcium rich food . After having one case of it ..that was enough!
  6. I second getting a full vet check done ..not just heart/lungs..... it does sound as if something's happening which needs investigating , and is probably best dealt with before the new baby arrives ...
  7. Dear little old thing ... and enjoy the good memories ...
  8. The AB's I have met ( only a couple) have been great temperament dogs ..and they were owned by macho types ..and came from who knows where :) they were ok with kids and other dogs ..and were not human aggressive whenever I saw them :) A friend sent me a pic of his niece .. she is a little kid, with some intellectual problems .. the photo is of her and his bull breed dog playing on a roundabout thingy in a park somewhere ...Gorgeous photo , and AFAIK, this dog is also used for hunting purposes ,and is entire .
  9. A goofy boxer boy will indeed benefit (as will you) from some specialised advice, I think :) To start with, maybe click on THIS ? That might give you some ideas .. It's great that you are working at managing his behaviour !
  10. If he is wobbly after a seizure only, then , to me , it doesn't sound like wobbler syndrome?
  11. Put up a camera/voice activated recorder ..so there is evidence for/against? Have someone in an unknown car pull up nearby and listen for a while ?
  12. Sounds very much NOT what I have been taught ..perhaps the girl has not much experience ?
  13. doggy door sounds perfect :) can you then use baby gates or barriers to confine him to whichever room the dog door opens into ? That way he can please himself, and have somewhere indoors and sheltered , as well as his toys, treat balls etc outside to entertain himself . Well Done ! :)
  14. I've finally had a good browse of these --- Love what you've captured :) :)
  15. THis is my thinking as well ... two of our dogs will lie near the back gate , where they can see the other dogs, the road, the animals ... this is done both when we're home , and if we are away .....it is their 'TV' .. a spot where they can bark/watch and snooze without missing anything.
  16. CC- they were/are! A walk late morning ... visitors at lunchtime , with litle kids who delighted in throwing squeaky toys around...., then a walk to a park with the visitors .
  17. Looking out the window is a good thing :) He needs to occupy himself somehow .. so he watches things happening .
  18. These two girls are also guests where I'm staying , and today was a busy one for them ..so they crashed on the couch :)
  19. My Mitchell chose me .. by breaking out of the kennels where he was housed during assessment for a pet therapy program ... finding my car in the carpark, and somehow squeezing in thru a part opened window .I found him sitting in the driver's seat when I went to go home that day ... and we were together for the rest of his life.
