And that is how it should be :) One is built for working , and stamina ..one is not. two entirely different sets of needs . :) Definitely a big consideration when getting two dogs ... can you give them both just what they need ?

:) If I formed a dislike about a breed after a bite ,,it'd be quite a list! Deep Hatred? What did the Jap. Spitz DO to you ???? It must have been very aggro/destructive/noisy/anti social /disobedient at least ....

have you considered disposables? Our local fruit/veg seller has largeish multi sided (?octagonal) sturdy cardboard bins .. I have looked often at them and thought "puppies" perhaps you could get these cheap..then just discard? Not the best pic... these are apparently pineapples .

That's not a breed :p I have no breed I like over the other . I have seen dogs of most breeds with temperaments I didn't like ..and I have fallen in love with dogs from breeds I had never considered to be amongst ones I needed to meet .

yes- something which is healing ... but perhaps not in correct alignment , may well require more invasive treatment to correct later. It's always tricky when you cannot bring yourself to give someone your trust , especially when the treatment is not for you.

perhaps he is just too sore to do anything else ?. Hopefully you will get a definite diagnosis very soon , and then work on whatever the problem is . I agree with the previous poster ... in her points , esp about nailing down some carpet . A little slip on another leg could well see damage done elsewhere - and that would be just awful .

Why be concerned? they possibly saw a dog/dogs that looked like yours, and thought they'd let you know..... ?

Angel3 if you let folks know what area you're in, and maybe ask in General .. I'm sure there are good trustworthy vets who can be recommended to you by DOLers ! Folks here have all sorts of vet knowledge :)

There is no firm diagnosis . An ultrasound has not yet been done for some reason ... Not sure I'd be rushing to spend good money until I knew exactly what the problem was, and the likely prognosis .... Angel3 - ONE dog allegedly died because of an infection ... very sad , however, lots of dogs recover so well from the surgery . many pedestrians get hit by cars as they cross a road ......... it's a risk , but we still need to cross roads .

What is the actual diagnosis ? Did you see your regular vet, or a specialist? Can your boy have a pen/bed nearer outside ..or on a porch or somewhere that makes it easier to access outdoors?

Oh - I didn't see the bit about dog being unsupervised , We feed lots of goat/sheep flap this way....pups and adult , and have never had a problem .It needs to be big.. so that it can not all fit in a mouth ..and I thought frozen would be safe..I guess dogs can choke on lots of things

..and have you also read up on what some other dog breeds MAY have lurking ? If they don't have money to pay for expensive tests/treatment , then they don't ... and all the well meaning warnings in the world will not change the fact they already have a pup, and perhaps do not have the money . Why worry them with "maybe's" ?? Their dog - be it a jamaican rum hound or a aussie drop bear herder may well carry some defective genes , and may become ill .. and they may find it a hard time ...<br class="Apple-interchange-newline"> or they may get tired of said pup , or pup may get run over, or they may find it too much work training a pup ... So many things could cause them to not have a pup anymore ....but that is the risk everyone takes . With respect , if you do not know the breed well, and also are not well versed in those 'health issues' , please don't start up a conversation relating to possible health problems ....

A nice big piece of lamb flap . ( the bit with no bone) .frozen , that he has to chew . Depending on dog size ... a frozen heart of some sort ... once again.. something to chew , and not just gulp.
