  1. Hi :) Is he desexed? What has changed in/around the house over the past month? Stray cats? visiting dogs? change in routine? change in house - renovating, etc? Curtains been washed/cleaned? Dog been ill?
  2. Thanks, folks. She is still sedated , and her family are weighing up the options .
  3. Luca and I have been friends now for around 1/2 her life .. around 6 yrs. She has her quirks... but she is the cuddliest and most patient of princesses . I don't see her much these days ..but she always remembers me , and enjoys the lapses of discipline which involve toast crusts being 'dropped' on the floor , and extra chewy treats ... I don't normally go terribly mushy over dogs not my own ... but she stole my heart a long time ago. Unfortunately she is in hospital with cluster seizures, after suffering a few in latter years - and this morning's news may not be at all good I know her owner will do what's right , but it's still awful to think of her like that. I took these shots last year ... *goes & waits for news* ......
  4. Sorry you and your dally are ill... it must be just so frustrating for you
  5. perhaps packaging is different for different countries .. why not read the ingredient /dosage information and compare that ?
  6. ..pups can have bones as soon as they have teeth :p Your pup will probably love a semi frozen, whole chicken wing ... frozen so he doesn't gulp it..but chews and chews to get his meal. . being smallish, he may also enjoy beef brisket bones , and also lamb shanks .... Chicken and other softer bones are great, as they can be totally chewed and digested to provide calcium . BIG meaty bones for little mouths are also great for cleaning back teeth , and providing lots of chewing to release all those lovely endorphins :)
  7. but, but, but ..the cat cuddling here is Bernie Mr.W throws dogs down ..like a lion , he launches at their shoulder , he wouldn't sleep with them! :D
  8. My dogs hear a pill bottle rattle .. and they line up :) They know that immediately after they have a pill poked down, that they get a bit of bread & butter , or cheese - so pill time is a GOOD time . Think I'd change obedience schools
  9. Hamlet & Bernie under the kitchen table ....
  10. Most of our dogs never get treats- they get praise . That said .. make sure treats are just that ..and not bribes . How often are you taking pup outside? and how long is he expected to hold on for? You may be expecting a bit much ?
  11. yes..grand mal (not maul) seizures are terribly damaging , and exhausting , and rob a dog of quality of life. Another vet who WILL answer questions and do tests is a very good idea.
  12. I would perhaps seek another vet's opinion ...... for more explanation and possible alternative treatment ....
  13. Oh, Teebs- I am sorry that At is so unwell... Hugs for you and the boofhead .
  14. Oh, esky ... Your other oldies are possibly indeed feeling the stress vibes . I so hope that you get some sleep , and that you have someone who can help support you .
  15. There are DOLers with dogs which have seizures ... I've read stories on here previously.. I hope your vet is giving you heaps of support, and that your little dog is on the most helpful medication. Seizures just minutes apart is a very serious and scary thing
  16. All folders containing images are dated . Photos I edit/ want to keep/use are then in another folder- named , and all stored in , eg July 2012 pics. Each month everything goes onto external hard drive ..and every -so-often-when- I- remember ..onto another external hard drive
  17. Although I'm very sorry you have lost your girl ..I am happy for you that you saw her brighten up, and that you were able to hold her as she left you. Run Free, little Penny .
  18. it only takes a bit of a tangle and a person shoving a foot down hard to try & balance themselves ... ermmm ..I have squashed pups' toes before today
  19. Can't afford LR , besides which I find even it somewhat too complicated for my brain I did have it on one computer for a while....
  20. Ouch ! Well, any RAW mince, (raw meat, esp. mince is much softer and easier to swallow.. trust me .. I am a big 'steak tartare fan ) with all the other goodies , such as small quantities juiced/pureed veg , eggs, yoghurt, and some nice pourable porridge with a bit of butter to help keep him warm and full :) Did they suggest a feeding schedule? I would be inclined to maybe do at least 4 small meals a day ... so there is less pressure on the area , and so the oesophagus doesn't have to stretch much....or for very long . hope he gets comfortable very soon :)
  21. Is the soft food temp. or permanent? because of gut problems?throat problems, or mouth problems? is it part of other treatment ... if it's a temporary thing, you can get away with more stuff like yoghurt, plain mince, scambled egg etc ....whereas if it's permanent .. there needs to be a better balance of nutrients... and obviously, if dog is having digestive issues... some foods are best left alone :)
  22. Minced raw chicken carcass, fish, egg, pureed fruit , any minced raw red meat with some pureed veg, cheese, yoghurt .......
  23. I found these. They are around 75 yrs old ... and were Mum's School Glasses. I just downloaded a free filter thingy from Filter Forge and this is my first attempt :) ...*sigh* More time wasting :p
