Mr.Wilson this evening :)

but am now wondering if this result is a normal expectation? LINK My idea of editing in RAW is to make sure colour is correct, detail and sharpening etc are pleasing . To me, this looks too saturated or something?

Whippet Won't Gain Weight
persephone replied to mumtoshelley's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
MTS. Not at all! What people are saying is to feed her a better food , to help your sister realise this , and, most important, to get the dog to a vet when you can. The dog had gastro , did not get any diagnosis, and has not really recovered. This really does need a thorough investigation , and I'm glad you are taking her on monday :) The dog may have a foreign body , or something physically changed/injured, or a 'bug' which needs drugs to kill it off . As suggested, if she is eating goodo's then feed her goodo's :) -
best thing you could/can do is help rehome the dog . Your friend is obviously not in the right frame of mind to have a dog at present , and everyone will be more calm once dog has a new home.

back to the vet, I think...and NO more treats ..just her normal food.

Whippet Won't Gain Weight
persephone replied to mumtoshelley's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
There could be any number of reasons why she is not gaining weight ..and a thorough vet check will help...as in blood tests/worm count etc. Supercoat and canned muck will not put weight on ..and is possibly not ideal after a bout of gastro, either What caused the gastro? What treatment did the vet give her then? The two could well be related . If she looked more unwell after worming , please do not fiddle with any more home remedies..but get her checked out from head to toe to find a cause. Hope she is feeling better soon. -
Not necessarily , it will take a while for the hormones to exit his system , and he has been doing this marking for 10 yrs ...... ..toilet training will, aid the process tho :)

Need A Behaviorist Near Northlakes/ Griffin Qld.

perhaps they are somewhat exaggerating .... ( I hope!) I would imagine if a good sized 6 m.o latched on ..there would be holes which needed looking at Our 6 m. o koolies can cause much damage with their new shiny adult teeth! Either way, I hope that they get some good professional help soon . -
Fox Terrier Continually Scratching And Licking
persephone replied to chadwick's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A vet would be my first suggestion. It could be a flea allergy ..it only takes one bite! It could also be an allergy to ...almost anything ...it may also be a stress reaction .... I would be suggesting not adding any more chemicals top the mix he's had recently ,until you work out what the problem is ... What food does he get? What plants are in your garden? Is there a time/place when he seems more irritated? -

biting to the extent of having to have jaws prised open does it for me. Did the owner need medical attention ? -

I would be sending that dog on a one way trip if he couldn't actually pry it off his arm at that age. Sounds like there is something not right with this one. That is a definite worry. If that is the case, I think I agree with nekh. -

*nods* Mitchell did that the first time he was in a boarding kennel .. his nice custom made doggie beanbag bed .....The kennel owners thought it was a white Christmas!!

I was thinking of a big doona shape which would fit inside teh crate ... so he can't really get out of it? An open side near the door , but floor/walls/top enclosed?
-
Hamlet just has his polar fleece coat on, and he sleeps on a shadecloth bed with a blanket & pillow ..it is very cold in my room, too- I have a window open!..it was -2 here this morning... ..If he doesn't move around much. or chew..maybe make him a 'sleeping bag' using a BIG doona ?, to be used in the crate?
-
:) :) I've been wondering how it went !
-
AS well as the spca eblanket, I would get a BIG doona from opshop or somewhere, and insulate the crate over the space blanket :) That works really well! Obviously the MOST important bit of a crate to seal/cover is the bit near the floor ..as this is where the drafts will be sneaking in.(cold air sits at floor level.) I buy lots of mattress protectors, old electric blankets and doonas from the opshop ..and they hold the warmth well :) The other thing, which probably would be messy in the nth degree is shreddedpaper, in which teh dog makes a nest ..so on all sides they are protected/insulated :) We do similar here with raw wool ... the dogs have such a cosy nest :)

weird they don't have any info on-line.......
