  1. Yep - molly 22 if you are setting off on a breeding path.. find yourself a mentor .. perhaps the breeder of your bitch, or another breeder whose dogs are the type you like, or who you meet at shows ,etc. A mentor can be much help , both practical, and with the genetic webs
  2. Molly22 .. You might find some relevant info - or contacts here, in the dedicated POODLE THREAD Good luck with it.
  3. slightly OT..Just a query..why does everyone recommend posting photos from an internet photo hosting site, and not just adding them from your hard drive? I just use this, IMAGE RESIZER or other program ..and attach from whatever folder it's in...no double handling
  4. Poodle ..from nice sound stock - they are great little dogs when the real dog within is addressed
  5. Yep .. the spot on stuff isn't popular here either . slightly (or a lot) OT .. My first pig, Grunt, was obsessed with transmission oil! he would roll in it, rub on it , try & lick it ..... it was like a cat with catnip
  6. Some dogs seem to notice things like that - some just don't care
  7. Hopefully he just got scared and ran off , and being friendly, found safety with someone . Poor boy - and poor owners!
  8. it does.. and he may well be one who gets his nose into places where this happens frequently.
  9. I am wondering how she was able to do this ? Did you let her free-run because she was such a pain to walk on lead? Very sad.
  10. Those photos are waaay too cute I agree the photo of Mum & pup is just amazing !
  11. Maybe go to a reproductive vet and get blood tests?
  12. Must admit to liking his appearance before the grooming .. The clip looks to be a pretty short one all over, and I can understand why you got a shock. It'll grow back in a few weeks though ....
  13. Ok.. ... I can see what you mean .
  14. So, does this mean that a groomer can decide the end result, if it is what they want walking out their door?
  15. There are quite a few folks on D O L who use/have used e-collars , and there are excellent trainers/behaviourists who recommend them for use when appropriate . There are also 'corrections' and corrections. One does not have to follow Koehler to the letter , these days, with more information, and the availability of technology . You might get some help from these threads LINK LINK LINK
  16. Oh, Gosh .. Koehler .. that takes me back 30 or so years !
  17. Good post, dancin'. I meant to ask.. what sort of toys does this pup have ? Does she have interactive, moving, noise-making type toys? I have found working dog pups to love full size soccer balls that they can push around.. plastic bottles with something inside to make a rattly noise , 'crunchy' chew toys ..(like a squashed plastic drink bottle covered in a tough fabric)..makes a great noise when crunched!
  18. Oh..and I trust there is no way she can get near the water in your new pool?
  19. Sounds a fairly normal clever, active pup who maybe hasn't been given enough direction/boundaries from day one. And she's approaching the age where they are physically able to do so much more! A few more questions. What is her daily routine? What is she like when out walking on leash? What is she like when you have visitors? What toys does she have?
  20. I suggest you go to your vet or pet supply store, and get one of the 'bitter bite' sprays .It is specifically made for the purpose of deterring dogs from chewing things . BTW citronella oil in a very small bottle will last you months . A drop in some water for spraying is all that is needed. No idea what it would do to your furniture though.
