Interesting - this is the dog equivalent to Guillean-Barre in Humans . Mum had it very badly . Hope your Dog is not badly affected, Rebanne . -

On the long line and things are a bit serious ;) crap phone pic ... Clive is sporting a very wide hound fabric martingale ...used for comfort and safety when on the longline .he wasn't as settled as his brother , which we expected . Dags got to go in the yards, and up on backs ..he enjoyed himself Clive has focus, which is worth much!

Is the agent/landlord approachable ? perhaps if you presented a nice neat plan of something which involved matching /complementing materials , but which only needed the odd tek screw ..and which would be done by a tradesman ...perhaps they would consider it ? -

I guess a carpenter/handyperson could help . There would need to be several clamps fastened underneath ..with light lattice . perhaps, if neighbours don't mind , attach clamps to that diagonal bit as well ? That would greatly improve stability . There are probably better ideas ... but that's what popped into my head Have fun!! -

How long ago was he castrated ( if he was)? having the male hormones still racing around won't help. No magic wand, sadly ..just a step - by step housetraining program, and leaving him outside, or in one room in nasty weather

Our youngsters ..well..they are never on hard surfaces - and are free to exercise as much as they want - and they do ! They go on to work hard . The two youngsters were out & about the other day ...500 mtrs away from home , playing with the sheep ..... for quite some time, & I've seen pups of their age working in sheepyards until they flop down dead tired .... no harm appears to have been done , and I often wonder with sheepdogs - is it soft surfaces, breeding, upbringing... or?

Help Socialising my Blue Heeler
persephone replied to Renski's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
A training tool like you want to buy and use can be a total disaster if you do not understand WHY your dog is behaving this way ..and it should NEVER be used on a puppy, anyhow. These types of tool require the dog owner to be taught how best to use them, and I repeat, should NEVER be used on a young puppy . Both you & your pup would get great relief and guidance from an experienced professional who will talk with you, check out what is happening, then provide instruction and support Please avoid parks etc until you have someone professional to support you - each time there is an incident, puppy's brain is filing it away. Just do nice walks in different areas, with sniff time, and some different views/surfaces..and practice your obedience /tricks in the backyard . This way, you & pups bond and learn each others' ways in a safer environment -
thanx , T ..:)

37 animals seized from storybook farm rescue
persephone replied to Two Best Dogs!'s topic in In The News
That "chewed off " leg stump was horrid....well , everything was. Just beyond anything I could imagine a rescue would ever do. I hope a lot of those poor dogs got a cuddle and a needle...and oblivion.. And awoke in a beautiful place.
