  1. Dogs can understand "Dog", the language :D There are lots of things in a dog's body language/voice to indicate aggression ....
  2. Thanks, Kirislin ..It is a friend's camera (her 'old' one ) she was visiting... and we went for a short walk so I could have a go.I have never used one before..and as the lens alone cost 1,000 ..I was petrified of damaging something!! It was a really windy afternoon ..that web was continually moving- so teh rest of the pics were very blurred
  3. Some puppies do get ahead - but some ,born with some physical condition which precludes them from being well nourished , will not. Some puppies just don't thrive. When you say is there another, yet smaller puppy? I guess I'd be concerned if there were two very tiny pups in a litter... do they all look round & content, with heads the same shape, or do the smaller ones really stick out?
  4. WoW - some great captures! this one tho . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/fly...RP/P9224783.jpg
  5. Awwww I love that last one- the hands with character...wrinkles...and the wrinkly little face of the puppy
  6. Looking good! - any without people .. and with just that handsome dog?????
  7. River scene Spider I only took 12 ..and out of those only 4 were worth keeping here are my two favourites .
  8. When working with guide dogs...and being involved with the breeding . I used to do all the dewclaws at a day or so old .It was easier for visually impaired folks to just clip the main claws..and there was less likelihood of scratches ..which, in diabetic folks, can be nasty . Our working dogs ... if we ever have a pup born with rear dews..I whip them off - but we don't bother with front ones.. and although we have the odd dog rip off nails- have never had anything serious occur.
  9. Our dogs rarely get bathed.. but it is then done with a bar of ordinary Velvet laundry soap leaves them so shiny and sweet smelling We also use vetadine if anyone has skin issues ..or betadine scrub.
  10. I don't watch the show - he is far too good looking and 'smooth' to be taken seriously
  11. Just a question... When you put pics on DOL why do you upload from an internet site? Why not just upload from your computer? I find it SO much easier:)
  12. My guess is the photo quality is up to you - it's the quality of the images you upload/store... Most of my flickr images are small ..around 200kb...just for keeping my upload limit low My redbubble ones however are all full res .(not as many)
  13. Ok...hope all now stays where it should ....
  14. I don't put up heaps of pics.. and prefer flickr. Photobucket is too complicated for me most of the time For uploading to DOL- I just grab photos off my computer..and emailing- Picasa does that ,as I use gmail. Most of my friends are on flickr- so we can share images/comments .It is also customisable -choose friends/family etc to view images.
  15. A doe & joey would be easy prey. Does are not usually robust enough to drown/damage a dog. Can you report them?
  16. Hoping that Q can be placed somewhere he can work to his heart's desire, and be successfully managed and contained and loved Hoping also that's Q's current owner gets the healing and peace she needs.
  17. Sounds as if they are just happy with each other's company
  18. Indeed ! all our dogs will hunt feral cats ...that's part of their job description - but don't worry about the house cats .They are not really high drive dogs- and are easy to control...
  19. and this could be 2 months or 12, depending on your training I don't think a pup/dog should be indoors all the time IF an outdoor area is available. You also need to consider your big dogs' reaction to a smaller dog!! If they are unused to puppies and small dogs ,and other dogs at their house- you could have some work to do ..and small dogs are often MUCH more energetic and noisy than larger dogs ;)
  20. (my bolded bit..and I feel it's important .We ,as owners often interact with our dogs almost on a reflex level. We are SO familiar with their body language..that things just 'happen'..with hardly a thought on our part .A dog in a new environment, with unfamiliar people will not usually behave in the same manner, and new owners will not be aware of all the little postures and twitches )
