  1. If he's that picky with his dry food- what's he like with meat/bones?
  2. No.. plus if you really want to go into it.. what about all the roos/emus/wallabies/cockatoos shot for eating the wheat crops prior to harvest, and ducks shot with shotguns for wrecking the ricefields...
  3. not very little- like a smallish walnut...but so pretty I love the small things of this world....
  4. Love to know what ingredients are in there- a nice fresh bone would probably be better for your dog you have a DOG- they eat animal products .
  5. Isn't he beautiful? Dead, unfortunately - but so pretty! he is now in our display cabinet with other interesting things Some sort of Rhinoceros beetle. pic taken with Sony DSCN1 point/shoot
  6. chuckie- your dog cannot gulp bones if they are big enough! They cannot gulp bones- they must chew them- that's the beauty of it A chicken carcass/rootail /large piece of brisket will force him to chew!
  7. There may be other options... can you give us some more info? Who recommended this camera? have you seen photos taken with it? What type of camera do you now have..and why do you want to change? What sort of photos are you wanting to produce? What is your price range?
  8. HMMM... HARD TO CHOOSE. all taken with my trusty old SONY DSCN1 point&shoot frog-in-the-loo Bee,Impaled.
  9. Oh That's a nasty feeling. Find a nice dust bath over the bridge ,girls....
  10. lovely, lovely photos- so glad things are going well!!
  11. Yep- I also freeze any meat offcuts.. good for little icy chewy treats!
  12. looking forward to seeing photos of her at home !
  13. I am wondering about those feet, too ! She may take after her GSD or Rottie family members (GUESSING) She has a nice face - and I'm glad she and Charch enjoyed playing>
  14. *wishes that loosening up thing would happen * I didn't mean that because a dog has aches & pains that it should be PTS!! This little dog sounds as if she is struggling each day.. and , if the vet has no ideas, and no meds which may help her , then why let her get slowly more uncomfortable and confused? I agree. It's a fine line....
  15. That must be hard to watch... :D Does your vet have any helpful ideas? perhaps if she is having so much trouble getting going, she may need her wings ,before she starts really suffering :D
  16. catandgrant- One great aspect of barf/raw feeding is the fact that it is a simulation of how dogs would normally eat- by chewing their meat off bones/consuming the bones/getting variety in their diet! IMO feeding patties/mince just doesn't come close :D Dogs, as you have discovered, enjoy chewing. They should- that is what their jaws were designed for!! Feeding your dog a diet in which he has to WORK to get his food may help. So- Every meal his meat component is attached to his bone component.. and in big chunks/pieces...and he has to chew and chew and chew. he gets supplements, like eggs/sardines/veges..to add taste and variety. he gets to chew on chicken frames, and turkey wings, and roo tails, and beef brisket, and lamb flaps :D have a read HERE and HERE With th e other, you definitely need to supervise, to restrict his access to non-allowable items (yes, if this means he is on lead indoors, so be it!), and provide recreational bones, kongs with treats frozen inside, and tough chew toys ...associated with all sorts of praise for using these. You also have to retrain yourselves, and put away your belongings while his training continues.
  17. ditch any softeners! As said they are a chemical which stays in fabric- so you or your dogs are continually absorbing minute amounts of it Also use a pure soap product.Soap, NOT detergent. Soap is animal/vegetable fat based, and should only have few ingredients.
  18. Great shots-----Love the piggies, Justice shades
  19. StaffordsYo- One thing to remember- the swelling you can see on the OUTSIDE is often happening on the INSIDE too ... and just think of all the important bits in a dog's throat/head !
  20. It was suggested she could have breathing problems, and that you should take her to a vet Just be aware now, that she DOES have potentially dangerous reactions to possible bee/ant sting. Ask your vet for something you can keep at home in case you cannot get to a vet in a hurry. Hopefully, it will not happen again!!
