I have seen ticks in melbourne............ travelled in bark chips for the garden!

Lifesize casts of a bearded dragon and a sand goanna, a taxidermied duck (head/neck in some reeds) a little echidna I made, using some dried skin/spikes we found, as a base..and who is very cute , some feathers, a willy wagtail nest, a rain moth pupa case....just a few bits & pieces ;) This is mainly for visitors- a lot of who are overseas/city folk who don't get to see such things normally .

What erny says . It reads as if you do have to start again with your relationship... after assessment, and with the help of, a good trainer.

This bit sort of confuses me----- did the dog go away for training? or did you have three periods of time with supervised excercises, or ? Is the person who helped you then available to help with this decision making?

I tend to agree with sas - IMO ,any fear based issues may well become worse for a time, if the dog is in an unfamiliar situation, making it very hard for the new humans What does your trainer/behaviourist recommend?Do they think it possible, with new strategies, he remain at home? At 9 years of age- leaving his home will be hard for your dog- and I am glad you are thinking long and hard on this. So many just 'dump' the dog, with no consideration. A difficult time for you- I am sorry.

Staff&Toller.. ok.. maybe I have never seen one of those absolute gulpers yet ....our dogs are brought up eating bones, so just chew and chew.... Hope the boxer with the chop is ok. Chopbones are so pointy!!

Well, hopefully your OH has learned a lesson. What general rules/training does your dog have? Just as my personal view... he shouldn't have to rely on reading her cues, so much as to not get her in a state where she may bite!! Simple. edit to add. if there are children present..it is YOUR responsibilty to supervise the interaction, and never let them play rough with her.
