  1. She's a dog-. They are programmed to do such things. Not at all weird. maybe ,as a start you can make it a new rule that before she goes out ANY door- she sits and relaxes... and do your OWN patrol before you take her out- make sure there is nothing there. Then, yes, correct her ..and do the toilet thing.
  2. oh shame about that breeder. I hope you can get the little fella's joints quietened down soon
  3. My Brother and his dogs do travel - they do sheepwork on different properties..so often they are in the vehicle for hours.
  4. I don't do anything to most of my photos- and most things I DO attempt only take a few minutes per image..I am not a fussy person
  5. he was obviously sent for a reason R I P special boy.
  6. You will probably need either a canopy and crates, or just very solid, roofed crates.Don't forget a thick rubber flooring - for grip, and insulation ....and don't forget , without any airconditioing- the dogs will be much colder in Winter, and MUCH ,MUCH hotter in Summer. We are lucky being out bush- we have a shadecloth 'sail' which we attach to the tray in Summer..it works really well-that and wool underfoot - the working dogs don't mind the travel at all
  7. have you had a look in her mouth? Does she perhaps have a retained tooth, or a bit of bone lodged somewhere, or a sore throat?24-26 is not warm/hot- that should not have made her go off her food ..... I would be booking a vet visit- just to give you peace of mind...
  8. What does his breeder say? That would be my first call- It does sound a bit worrying ....Hope he's ok!
  9. That's a pretty coloured hibiscus!
  10. Yep- today I would offer her one meal only.. and see how she goes. She shouldn't need 3 meals at this age...morning and night is usually enough. if she is at all quiet or different- book a vet visit, though.
  11. How about that all that body language and calming signals prevents a fight... Seriously, I think you would benefit from grabbing some books on canine body language and calming signals. *nods*
  12. I try to not do any editing on the computer.. but when I do- it is usually just a bit in lightroom, to maybe put back some detail missed out because of exposure, cropping, and maybe to remove some very obvious oopses, like redeye. I like the camera and my controls to do most of the work
  13. When you said about having staph... I have read somewhere that some dogs can have a bad allergic reaction to the naturally occurring staph on their skin.... Just a thought....
  14. We have not seen the dog before surgery- who knows what may have been wrong? he may have had WAY too many ,and pendulous, folds..covering his eyes-dragging that whole skin area out of whack.. perhaps they were infected... we don't know. I think he looks fine
  15. Perhaps the owners work nights and have no idea ?
  16. Oh:( look at that face.............. R I P Max.
  17. and just how many months/years do they say you will have to do it before he gets the message? check out K9 force's distance package, and arrange for a private training session or two...seems you need some more help
  18. excellent- she is being encouraged to see what is possible - if she decides it's too hard, fair enough, but she is at least now making a start.
  19. Hi- to teach these things to your pup-YOU have to be good at it, and understand the basics of how/why it works. My suggestion would be to seek advice from a trainer.Having a trainer come to your home and work with you is a great way to learn and gain confidence! Do you take him to an obedience club or anything? That may be a place to start if you don't want to see a trainer privately
  20. It is sounding good! SO many people have not seen dogs who ARE well adjusted/socialised/indoor dogs- they just have no idea of what can be accomplished, or how much work is needed....or what pleasure can then be gained
  21. Airedales I have known are not wimps- and need a fairly experienced hand . Hopefully the work can be put in .
  22. A mushroom, or a toadstool? If he is eatinmg poisonous toadstool- they won;t be doing him any good ! Apart from not watering- there isn't much you can do to stop fungi growth... maybe check out some australian fungi websites?
