    Biting

Hi... have a look here http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=nipping+biting http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...Nipping+mothing You may get some ideas. It is something that definitely needs stopping... hope you and pup can communicate without the teeth, soon.
  2. If she sleeps outdoors or in a laundry... just give her heaps of old newspapers/cardboard sheets. ...remove bedding except for night time? Sorry can't really help- none of ours do it, so have no experience. It would be very annoying!!
  3. Oh... sorry. RIP benjamin.
  4. Sorry, Rob- You are obviously wanting this pup badly....but EVERYONE needs to be motivated to help a puppy become part of the family! EVERYONE needs to WANT the puppy around... So many 'what-ifs'.. if you are away, and the pup gets into mischief, or escapes, or is ill.... I really hope you can convince them she is worth the hassles...I do. but rehoming is an option you may need to consider. Sorry.
  5. Well done!! The princess now knows she is not yet the Queen of the household
  6. Hmmm.. this is an interesting approach ... hope it goes well for you.
  7. sump oil cured lots of things.. but made for very durty oily dogs!!
  8. especially as now he DOES sleep with you, and accepts that this is how things are... you are going to crate him ? I think that's sad. Why didn't you crate him from the first?
  9. With roo tails, you do better if you find the joints..and cut there. Have a look at the end of the tail.. then look for a similar spinal 'tip' along the tail.. .. bend the tail.. see where the 'bend is.. cut thru the sinews, and then you can see the joint easier. It cuts quite easy when you are at the space between vertebrae.. just cartilage there
  10. I would also suggest a vet check- just to make sure there is no infection! Then as said. pick one plan and , for a whole weekend ( to start with) stick to it 24/7!! Consistency is the only way :D
  11. It could be scar tissue, or fluid. Sometimes it does feel quite hard.
  12. Congratulations! Your princess has trained YOU to come when she cries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She has also learnt that persistence pays off! Keep her busy at times during the day... lots of exercise/play. Naps are essential, too have her crate alongside your bed if you want.... otherwise leave it in antoher room. make sure she toilets before bed, and don't leave water/food with her. could she be TOO warm? heating and a hot water bottle may be too much... and she isn't 'drawn' to the H/W bottle for comfort? DO NOT get up to her when she is making noise. Even if she cries for 2 hours straight. Do a toilet run when she is quiet/asleep..no cuddles, etc.. just pick up..take out..put back to bed. Hopefully she will soon learn/relearn that crying doesn't bring rewards

  16. How is medicating a dog with ancient instincts a good thing ? Whatever meds are given.. these instincts will still be there once the medication is stopped.
  17. You do really need to have them both castrated to remove some of the hormone overload! Not spending a lot of time together means they don't have their relationship sorted... there are almost two 'territories',and there is you... and ,IMO they are having to re-assert themselves all the time. Not ideal. you really should get some professional help here to ensure a smooth transition ...
  18. I Huh? I can't see your logic here
  19. Have a look here and they are not made overseas !! http://www.aussiedog.com.au/index.php?main...a07ce750b6553f8
  20. Hi, and well done for getting him to this age!! AFAIK. any of the joint supplements take some weeks for any effect to kick in... so don';t look for a quick fix :p Have you thought about acupuncture? I know folks who have seen great pain relief in their dogs after having acupuncture
  21. our dogs used to get sarcoptic mange often, when they chased foxes. back then, we only had malathion rinses... which worked well. We never lost a dog, or had any with a 'bad case'... Things are certainly simpler and quicker these days Hope your guys get better soon!
  22. Vet is a good plan if he is getting more fussy.. there may be something wrong somewhere. best of luck .
  23. No expert here... but I think, given a good raw diet, your puppy will get the perfect protein levels:) Dogs DID evolve to eat large quantities of high protein meat- either muscle meat/organs/ connective tissue and bones. What sort of food are you feeding? Do you think it has too much protein in it? AFAIK, dogs excrete excess protein quite well...
  24. I had a S5700 before this one here is the info on the S5800.. http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_c...ions/index.html and the S8000fd http://www.photoreview.com.au/Fujifilm/rev...ix-s8000fd.aspx they are similar.. but the s8000fd has a brilliant macro lens.. and more manual controls, plus a greater zoom length ( tho quality isn't 100% at full zoom )
  25. what terrific word...and a very good thing to be!!
