  1. It is not actually just assumed but you are required to tick a box that says you have read and understood the PDS. There is plenty of time to review the PDS online before you hit BUY - they can be accessed at any time. If people choose not to take the time to read and understand what they are signing up to (not talking about the OP here) then that is their choice but they cannot complain later about it.
  2. And poor service is very unlike this person that many of us know personally so I'm sure there is an explanation for it all.
  3. Ah you're right - she has a vet/ physio on the team in Naomi Boyd (who is also lovely!). It was her training that stood her out.
  4. Yes but I too prefer Helen Nicholson for the fact she's a vet and a physio so I have seen a more rounded approach.
  5. What exactly did you order?? It is a Whelping supplies website and I can't see any toys on it! I do know that for some items there is a message that says your order is a preorder as the item needs to come from overseas first.
  6. Ah bless. How dare a small business owner who has left an out of office message on their website date go and spend Xmas with their family. I to have used the site without issue.
  7. We used to have a German shepherd who would leave us stones under our pillows when we went out.
  8. Except if you deliberately chose a x breed because it's cheaper knowing your dog is a purebred then that is making a false statement in your application and gives the insurance company grounds to cancel your policy.
  9. I get this too with mine. When I come home from work, he is at the door but then races off to find a soft toy. Same with when guests arrive - he runs to get a toy. Not sure what the idea is but it has also translated into the fact he has never ever ever ever destroyed a single soft toy. He treats them with care, flea nibbles them and has to have them nearby.
  10. HO did not see her regular vet at the clinic, no need to be driving to Sydney when Michael Jones is the best vet on the coast. I know this as I've been going to Michael for 20 years. HO go back and see Michael or maybe Antony, I think you usually see Antony anyway don't you? and make sure Michael knows you were not impressed with who you saw and why. Hope you get it sorted. Good to know but obviously information that I could not have known. Never heard of Michael Jones - all HO said was she saw a vet who was vague but was not her usual vet.
  11. I have never heard of a vet changing their prices to be lower if you don't have insurance! I pay the exact same price for things regardless - majority of the time a vet does not know whether you have insurance until after the event.
  12. I hate how the default for some vets is to say change foods! If you have done a hard change to BH then I'd expect to see some more stomach upset while he adjusts but frankly I'd leave him on the better quality food that he was on. I have heard of other dogs doing this and feeding a very late night snack/ supper helped out. If you want a more pragmatic vet and don't mind the drive to Sydney then go see Ian Murdoch at Pennant Hills Vet - he starts at the bottom and works up ruling things out.
  13. None of them backed by Hollards have their own call centre etc. Medibank, Woolworths, RSPCA etc are only the retail fronts for the policies - the seller of them. The administrator/ underwriting policy manager of all of the policies is PetSure - who are based in Chatswood. This includes Bow Wow Meow.
  14. It can't be compared to health insurance given the Medicare Schedule of Benefits that applies to health costs - even under insurance. They're upfront about this. If your dog needs $10,000 surgery provided you have not eroded your cover, it's not an excluded condition (as stated in the PDS) and it's not for an excluded pre existing condition from before the policy was taken out and it's not prophalytic surgery then there is coverage (generally speaking) either less the excess stated on your certificate of currency (pet plan) or less the co payment (eg the others who cover a fixed percentage like 80%).
  15. Healthy pups from healthy parents is a good foundation but is only a start. I've known dogs from great breeders to bloat - guarantee it will happen after hours and you're looking at several thousand easily - even more outside of the cities. My last dog - breeding had no say in an auto immune disease - $6000 in vet bills in 21 months Current dog - broke toe just running around .
  16. Wipe with the original gold listerine.
  17. People are now on breed specific FB pages where they can get advice from other experienced owners and breeders in their breed.
  18. Was interested but needing an XXL I was disappointed to see the price for an XL being around $160 but the XXL was around $350 I like my dog and want him to be comfortable but that's too much for a bed.
  19. Dog food generally has a best before date of 12 months after manufacture. It may well be fine after this date however the BBD is the date until which a manufacturer will stand behind the nutrient claims it makes about the product i.e. after 12 months the nutritional qualities may start to degrade.
  20. Satin balls, to have effect for a giant breed, need lots feed - risking other issues due to the high fat levels etc being consumed. I used porridge when weight gain was needed. Made it with water in the microwave and then cooled it down and made it slushy with rice milk. My dog loved it - to the point that I can't eat porridge these days without an expectant face looking at me.
  21. Disappointment aside - the people behind the business have taken the time to come on here and respond to your feedback and it is a little rude that you have not even bothered to acknowledge their post. Fair enough - you are disappointed in what was received. They have offered a refund if you want to return the box. I'd suggest you take them up on it and move on.
