  1. There are no fires currently listed for Seymour. You can check here. http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/warnings-and-incidents/index.html Or use Persephones link.
  2. As not everyone can access off topic I thought I'd start another thread in General. Please post if you need help. Thoughts are with everyone.
  3. I'm actually surprised that the Saturday show was cancelled but the Sunday show hasn't been just due to the fact that they have forecast Sunday as being an extreme weather day even though the temp won't be as hot. I assume the organizers have their reasons though. ETA Perhaps they are expecting the cool change to come through early.
  4. I can't even get that fire ready ap to work. It's next to useless.
  5. I just saw this on the afternoon news and was going to come in and update but SM beat me to it. Gave me a bit of a shock to see Kojaks name scroll across the bottom of the screen.
  6. Welcome to Bendigo. :) I second Sue at McIvor Road vet clinic.
  7. OMG *Perrin quickly shuts thread down before Georgia sees it and starts getting ideas*
  8. I was when i saw that as well. And i dare someone to tell Georgia she needs to go to a new home because she shouldn't be living with children under 10. A sloth is more energetic than Georgia. She's currently living with a week old lamb and she's had a stream of children all under the age of 6 coming and going. ETA Oh dear i showed o/h the article and now he's gone off on a rant. Apparently you should fix the lazy teen not the dog amongst other things.
  9. My Dal is the complete oposite. Today for instance Georgia didn't get out of bed except for a toilet break. And this is about as much as we've seen of her lately. I know she's under there somewhere.
  10. I was thinking of coming for a look with one of the kids but i think the weather is going to be bad. Will it be posted on the club website if it is cancelled? it won't be cancelled. unless there is a sudden unexplained bush fire... rain, hail, shine, out they go. Flood? I've been told that there is a high chance of flooding for our area even though nothing is showing on the BOM yet.
  11. I was thinking of coming for a look with one of the kids but i think the weather is going to be bad. Will it be posted on the club website if it is cancelled?
  12. We drove in and then left to park on the outside of the track before it started so we didn't get blocked in as we had 3 kids with us and i wasn't sure how long their attention span would be. Maybe next time we will come and watch again. It looked like lots of fun. :)
  13. This looked like so much fun. We actually went across to Wellsford (we live over the road) and had a look and now my husband has his eye on Georgia for a bit of sledding  The kids thought it looked great and also wanted to go camping with all the dog people. My husband was impressed by a big round chair that one dog was in and now thinks we need one for when we go camping with George.
  14. Whilst it can be difficult to adjust to at first it gets easier as time goes on. Perrin has had diabetes for the last few years and yes it took time to get used to twice a day injections (mostly because i'm squeemish) but after awhile it just becomes part of the normal daily routine.
  15. It always makes me so sad to go into puppy problems and see his username at the top. Such a senseless waste of a life.
  16. Exactly! Ages ago, I emailed the head honcho woman, and asked what Oscar's Law was, and I ended up buying two bandanas... But I can't exactly say what for! I have no idea WTF it is  Oh gosh i just spat coffee everywhere. Don't worry MF i'm laughing with you not at you.
  17. OL = Animal lib I will never knowingly support a group that believe they have the right to illegally enter a persons property, damage property, lie, steal or 'fabricate evidence' for the good of a cause.
  18. Dorper can also have a white head so it's possible to drive past a paddock of dorper and not notice. What what sets them apart is their body shape and coat.
  19. Some of these stories are so gross! We don't sleep with the pets and the worst thing that has happened was when Perrin was a kitten he got into bed with us one night and licked my husbands nipples. I've never seen anyone move so fast in my life. Poor Perrin was thrown onto the floor and was very surprised. O/h said it felt disgusting. And he slept in a shirt for a long time after that.
  20. I remember the BC incident. Mostly because the person was also involved in other questionable activities at the time. I've always wondered what happened.
  21. You could also try one of the pet sitter companies that come to your house. A bit exxy but you can get them to come out twice a day which we've done before for Perrin who has diabetes and needs insulin injections. I *think* that they also have a program where your dog can go and stay with a family for the duration of your holiday. At least they used to. I'm not sure if they still do or not.
  22. We had a house/pet sitter last year and were far from happy. She caused us a lot of grief and money in vet bills by overdosing my cat on insulin. Not to mention she abused people at the equine vet clinic because the vet refused to come out on a weekend to take off a bandage. I was sooo embarrassed by her behaviour when i called the clinic to find out what was going on because all i could get out of her was rantings about how rude the clinic was. She told me my vet was an arrogant beeeeeeeeep. I would never use HER again however it hasn't totally put me off.
