  1. LINK LINK LINK Folks in this area have them everywhere - the National park near us has them scattered throughout , and some properties have all their boundary gates etc under the camera's eye ! We all walk around smiling for the camera :p Ummm not sure what you're getting at, Pers. What does setting up a security system on your own property have to do with civilians flying drones over it in breach of your privacy?
  2. Not a minor issue in my eyes. You are dead right. I totally agree with both of you. And the If you have nothing to hide argument is pretty outdated. At the risk of bringing Godwin into the discussion, Im sure plenty of people in nazi germany had nothing to hide either but was it OK that Hitler Youth were spying on their neighbours? And the fact of the matter is that government authorities are highly regulated. Civilians answer to no watchdogs when it comes to something like this.
  3. Is it possible your partner is unintentionally stirring up puppy? I have a dog that goes completely insane at night time and its due to the fact my husband egards that as his playtime
  4. It would be like clay shooting. Hey that's another excuse - oops it got in the way of my clay pidgeon. Or, gee I just watched Michael Bay's Transformers and freaked out that a robot alien was about to land on my head.
  5. And with no legislation in place to authorise a govt department to monitor a civilian group who uses them. Ridiculous and such a goddamn slippery slope.
  6. Now now, that's illegal. Atleast if farmers shoot down the drone they can say Oops I thought it was a big mosquito.
  7. Or let's say we find a sheep dying from fly strike, we can record the location on a GPS and notify the authorities,'' he said. ''But there are lots of cases where farming activities cause horrible distress to animals - mulesing being a common example. People are entitled to know and see what's going on. So, even if it is lawful, if we think the public is going to be outraged or if we think they need to be informed, we will show it.'' Wow this makes sense. Locate sheep dying from flystrike but dont want mulesing which is used to prevent flystrike. Huh??? Full article http://www.smh.com.au/technology/sci-tech/i-spy-with-my-little-fly--animal-cruelty-20130330-2h02s.html?rand=4693643 And this article covers Privacy. Bloody hell, looks like law enforcement doesnt even use drones here but these animal lib cowboys can just buy one and let it loose? the Privacy Act doesn't cover the actions of individuals in those circumstances. http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technology-news/privacy-watchdog-urges-debate-on-aerial-drones-20120912-25ri4.html
  8. Who are these animal rights loonies who think they can play Big Brother. If its true they have bought a drone to spy on and terrorise people this is just getting freaking ridiculous I agree it's a bit over the top raz. But.... if they do uncover some really dodgy practices, that has to be a good thing. I disagree Aussie. We have authorised departments for this sort of thing. The wannabee vigilantes can piss off with their pretend warfare Fair enough, I see what you're saying and yeah, as I said it's over the top. Do you think that the authorities have partly caused this though, by failing to do what they're supposed to? RSPCA mainly. No. I think animal rights people have always been nutcase civilians who think they can get away with taking the law into their own hands. Not on!
  9. What next - let these lunatics tap telephone lines?

  12. gee I dont know. If you sunbake in the nude in your backyard you arent doing anything wrong but would you appreciate some unauthorised moron taking a photo via a drone ?
  13. Hilarious. Pimply faced extremists now have a drone to play warfare in the middle east? Way too many gamers involved with animal lib these days. I hope the farmers pull out a BFG and blow it out of the sky.
  14. What a coward. Big tough bikie punching a woman in the face AND when she was doing all the right things.
  15. Same for me, steve. The pdf just comes up with the cover page
  16. Awesome. So the proposal is to penalise anyone who buys from a registered breeder? My dogs came from registered breeders, and are all desexed. Where in gods name does this make sense? More sabre rattling. Just encourages people not to register their pets at all with this kind of ridiculous, clearly irrational proposition. How about working with what they have already rather than shove this crap down peoples throats. It WONT stop back yard breeding or dog attacks. Bloody idiots.
  17. Yep Reb. So true. Even the ACO I reported it to said the same thing. Way too many irresponsible morons out there
  18. Thanks clover. Its really horrible and Im still really pissed off about it. The fact the owner knew and still walked her dog when it weighed twice as much as her and she couldnt control it absolutely shits me to tears.
  19. Where does Socialising Dogs mean they have to meet every random stranger's dog while out walking? Dont impose your idea of socialising dogs on every stranger you meet in the street. Where did I say that? Where did I do that? I said I had no problem with what others do. I asked what others did. I said what I do. I said if it was you (not you in particular, just a general you) had the problem dog get out the way and don't abuse others. Where did I say, do as I do? you did when you said you let your dog have a sniff and accused so many dog owners of being paranoid. Not every dog owner wants randoms coming upto them when out walking, and you know, we have all seen it enough on this forum where people get abused for walking across the road to avoid a dog that doesnt look particularly dog friendly. Famous last words-my dog wouldnt hurt another dog CHOMP

  21. Well that's totally different to what happened to the OP. As a result of what happened to my poor old dog I now walk them wearing metal lined hiking boots and a metal pole. I used to hate it on here when posters said they would kick a dog in the head but I've changed my mind after our experience. I'm not going to put up with some dumb dog owner letting it's DA dog attack mine, see him in hospital and have to carry him outside to toilet because he's too frightened to go outside after being freaking mauled. If that had been my tiny pug who was attacked she would be dead!!! Keep your 'How do you socialise your dog if you dont let them meet strange dogs on walks' to yourself thanks.
  22. Who are you responding to? On it's own that post doesnt make sense. I think the OP? The other dog lunged at the OP's dog so I think the other dog had an issue! Still doesnt make sense. The OP is the one who balled out the other owners dog for lunging. His dog was well behaved. It was the other dog who wasnt. Dory said if her dog wasnt walking 'military style' she'd be pretty pissed off about an owner balling her out. It's not about having dogs as robots when in public. It's about them being bloody well behaved and not lunging at other dogs.
  23. Who are you responding to? On it's own that post doesnt make sense.
  24. With dog owners I know, not with some irresponsible asshat who lets their dog lunge at strange dogs while out walking. I was out walking two of mine one day when a stupid moron stood by and did nothing when her dog picked one of mine up and shook him until he went into a seizure. We were walking home and my dogs were minding their own business. This dog escaped the owner, ran across a busy road and attacked my dog. Not even an apology - just an 'oh she doesnt like little dogs'. Great so this idiot was walking a very big dog in public that she had no control over, especially when she knew the dog was dog aggressive and KNEW her dog was dog aggressive even without provocation. How is that socialising. It took WEEKS for me to get my dog to go outside into the backyard and toilet without freaking out, and that was after all the vet bills which she didnt even offer a token to pay. Owner was reported and I havent seen either the dog or the owners since. Care factor - zero! I hope they sold their house and left the neighbourhood. Stupid @sshats!!!
