  1. Thats because poor Dusty is broken. If he came here for holidays he would soon learn that a harem of lovely girls is not nearly the worst thing that can happen to you My iggies tend to prefer other iggies, but SOME quite like the greys too, however only under very strict supervision and I pick which greys get to play. Here is Precious and Georgi
  2. There has been at least two litters of IGs in USA, dont exactly remember but think the pups died quite young. This was maybe 5 or so years ago Just recently I judged in NZ and there were two IG pups from a litter of two born by FSI of 20yr old semen. PM me and I can tell you the owner's name. She is on FB
  3. Was Grenfell in the pouring rain ? I should have it somewhere. Remind me tomorrow if I forget. Didnt go to Molong
  4. Ran out of time to get the Troy price today. Cant believe how much I still have to get done before Xmas. Good to know it is the same product so will see how it compares pricewise.
  5. For those that have ordered from overseas is it the same as Troy website I'm getting a price on this today. Hope its cheaper than o/s otherwise I'll be getting mine off ebay also
  6. LizT she is 15mths old. Still at breakin and coming home on the weekend. She hasnt had a racing career as yet but I want to help her get used to all the things she will need to deal with, including the races. She has not broken in particularly well. They say she is trying but not giving it 100% (but not a nonnie) . She is fine in kennels and in the bullring but not so good out in open spaces like the track. She has spent the first part of her life at a rearing farm. It was a small place with less than 20 dogs and she was great there whenever I visited. I first suspected she may have a few "issues" as she was worried the first time I took her off the property to get her microchipped at the track. She slammed on the breaks at the front gate and pancaked in the car. The next time I took her was a couple of weeks later just before dropping her to the breakers. She spent 24hrs at my house and while inquisitive she wasnt confident to check out her new surroundings. She was much better in the car as I told the rearers I wanted them to work on that. She will almost certainly be the last dog I have reared by anyone else. Lesson learnt the hard way on more than one dog at more than one rearing kennel. My own litter of pups that I reared myself have been raised very differently to the average race dog and are very confident.
  7. I have a dog that will be coming home on the weekend. She is a race greyhound so has seen next to nothing of the world. I want to build up her confidence. She wary of new things and I would like to make her more able to deal with new and different experiences. I plan to take her out and show her the world but is there anything else I can do to help her
  8. I have an outside bitch with me currently. She has been with me six weeks and her owner is collecting her in the morning. Admittedly I did breed her and she knows me well but that doesnt change the way I treat her. She is kennelled in a run with roodf and concrete floor. This kennel also has a 2" barrier across the door (toy breed so this is high enough). All my kennels are then double gated, with lockable door to outside, and the property itself is gated. Its nearly impossible to get out. When the bitches are in season I have a very large roofed pen for free exercise and they do not go anywhere unless on lead and are supervised at all times. It might be a bit overkill but it keeps my dogs safe. My neighbours have entire dogs that run free 24hrs a day and I dont want to risk them getting anywhere near my dogs. I also board dogs I bred so I want to know they are safe. If you cant be with your bitch, make sure you inspect the stud's premise beforehand if at all possible, If your not comfortable dont leave your girl, or make sure you can be there with her at all times.
  9. Im loving all these suggestions and sure am having a hard time deciding. Im sure there is already a shampooch. Think my favourite is Vanity Fur also. Keep those suggestions coming
  10. Stone I think you jump to conclusions far too quickly. I have purchased a puppy from Rebanne and found her to be extremely knowledgeable on her breed and more than willing to share. She is such a good breeder that just recently I chose to nearly purchase yet another puppy from her. Perhaps you should get to know her before you judge someone you obviously know nothing about
  11. Greyhounds and Italian Greyhounds. All entire except for one 15yr old IG ( who still thinks he can try to have his way with in season girls even though he was desexed a few years ago) I dont let the IGs and greys run together but generally they mix fine with their own breed. The odd one doesnt get on so those ones are not kennelled together or exercised unsupervised. OH had a deerhound and an airedale, again both entire. They got on fabulously together. His previous airedale, entire male, had 2 entire male IGs for kennel mates and they all got on great.
  12. Friend has comtacted Innotek Australian and Innotek USA and they are giving conflicting advice, hence why we are asking if anyone has experience with this and wether it worked for them or not
  13. Posting for a friend I am getting conflicting advice from different Innotek suppliers . I have the IUC4100 containment system with two collars and wanting to add two IUC5225 training collars for a third and fourth dog on the same system to use with remote. Will this work with the IUC4100's ? private replies to [email protected] thanks
  14. WOW Thanks Sir WJ. I will have fun looking at all those
  15. LOL I love it Oakway but I dont think too many others would quite understand
  16. Im trying to think of a name for my new greooming salon that I am in the process of setting up. Everything I think of is either already taken or really crap. I just cant think of the right name. I already have two possible logos. Both are warm and fuzzy and cute so a name that is appropriate to them would be great but is not essential as I would get a new logo if needed I would like to mention grooming, dog, hound or something similar in the name. Help me DOL
  17. x2 Rebanne. Two of my greyhounds have the same thing. I go to a greyhound vet and he says nothing can be done. I did put phenlzone cream on when it first occurred but it made little difference
  18. No I love spending time with my dogs but I only take them for walks very rarely. I am so fed up of being rushed by strange dogs charging out of unsecure yards that I dont enjoy it at all. I cant even get out of my front gate without it being seriously dangerous for my dogs. I can however walk on my own and its fine, just cant take the dogs. Thankfully I live on small acreage so the dogs get plenty of exercise without having to leave home.
  19. I have a few dogs but a couple of mine are really special. I've had Italian Greyhounds for about 20 years but was looking for a new breed to show. I had wanted a greyhound for a long time and had been looking around for the right dog. I went to a show one day (something I do alot of) and saw Skadi. She was a 3mth old puppy and was entered in the show along with her brother and sisters. It was love at first sight. 6 months later and passing up the pick puppy from a repeat mating I finally got my way and bought her home. Until recently she has been my almost constant companion for the last five years ,rarely leaving my side. She is the reason I now have quite a few greys. My second grey I saw at a greyhound auction as one of 300 odd lots. She was passed in and I approached the seller after and bought her. Something about the way she looked, standing in a cage in a row of cages waiting for her turn to be auctioned off. I just couldnt leave her there I then wanted a show grey and Rebanne was having a litter. I saw pics of Paige as a puppy and was lucky enough to be able to make her my baby. I have made a wonderful friend and love my big girl to bits. She is a very special girl
