Whoops that should be puppies that are 4 weeks (today).

Help! My bitch has has lost a nail from one of her front paws. She is in so much pain. She can't even walk on the grass to toilet herself - I've been carrying her out. She tries to sleep but it must be throbbing. Is there anything I can do to help her? To add to all this she is still feeding 3 week old puppies

SORRY DOUBLE POST

Hi all, I am back at work and finally able to access DOL after 2 weeks offline and I've just read through all the posts and checked out all the beautiful puppy pics. I'm so sorry to all that have lost puppies - so heartbreaking I was only planning to take the first week off but due to the heat I had ended up having to take the second week also. From around 10am through to 5pm, it has been a endless round during the day of fan/COOL hotwater bottles and wet (rung out) towels for Macey's big puppies. From day one I realised that even though the room they are in is cool with a breeze coming in most of the time the whelping box is just a heat trap with mum and her radiant heater (boobs). Luckily my husband is off this week and will continue the cooling regime but they should cope better now being 2 weeks old. They weigh between 1.1 and 1.3 kg at last weigh in.

Macey started labour at 3pm yesterday and has been hard at it through the night. Still waiting for waters to break - losing patience!

I'll say 9 for Koda

She looks bigger in the flesh. What a round little belly. How many is Lizzy expecting Andisa? only 4 - but I have a feeling there will be a couple of extras. I'm thinking exactly the same thing about my girl. I prefer that to thinking maybe they are huge puppies this time.

I will keep what ever is good enough. I wanted a black dog from Sway's last litter. I kept Shimmer a blue bitch Yes, we will keep the best regardless of colour/sex. Fingers crossed one of the black dogs takes your eye as they develop!
