  1. Totally normal, just unpleasant Many beagles do it regularly - my experience and others I have talked to.
  2. Cindy and her baby She is doing very well.
  3. We have one tri girl. Unfortunately the first pup, a big tri girl, got well and truely stuck and didn't make it. The second pup also a girl got stuck as well but Sara was able to revive her after a huge effort. Both were breech and big pups. The first time dam was unbelievable stoic throughoutl and is a born mother.
  4. OMG She has gone from light panting and virtually no other signs to waters breaking and straining. With all our other litters the first stage of labour has taken hours an hours progressing into heavy panting, trembling and increasing discomfort. Won't be long.
  5. A very big day/night. Best of luck for an easy whelping
  6. Our bitch Cindy has started also. Temp dropped yesterday and now she is in early first stage panting, nesting, etc. Excited but also nervous as she's a first timer with probably only 2 pups - so they might be biggins - eek
  7. Bloody well freezing Like all old chooks I came home to roost, but I forgot how cold the perch was. You'll be laughing in Dec/Jan when it's 36 degrees with 80% humidity here in Brisbane! I bet those whippets aren't enjoying it too much at the moment either
  8. Papillon litter due on the 9th was in a big hurry to come into the world so they arrived on the 1st! 4 boys! As you can imagine they have been keeping me busy (2 in particular) but after 3 days I still have all 4 and fingers crossed they keep on fighting..... Congratulations and fingers crossed for your boys.
  9. Excellent advice! How are the puppies Trinaj? Sorry about your the lost puppies.
  10. Thanks for your replies. Food for thought. Guess I might have to re-think this as you have mentioned a couple of things I hadn't considered. Oakway, what are you doing in Tasmania? I haven't been on here for quite a while as you can gather.
  11. Hi, thought this might be the best place to post this. Would anyone that has rehomed a bitch FOC on condition that she comes back for a litter have a contract that I could have a copy of please? Thank you.
  12. Sorry about your dad Puglvr Wishing you the best of luck with your litter!
  13. Oh there's not many for October! We have a litter that we think is due this weekend - Cindy is from my bitch's first litter. Although a planned mating and Sara had the stud staying at her house, Cindy was taking ages to come into season and as it turned out Sara was OS when Cinds finally came into season. Her partner didn't think there was a proper mating but as you can see she's certainly pregnant The x-ray only showed 2 pups but we feel there may be 1 or 2 hiding - so fingers crossed. What do you think?
  14. Not for everyone but have you thought of a housesitter? I know a few couples that housesit regularly and are wonderful dog loving people. I'm sure there is a website if you google it.
  15. Not just sighthounds Alyosha, the scent hounds (beagles anyway) have the same comments listed. I guess any breed in the hound group has been pretty well lumped together.
  16. Yes, its not easy deciding which dog to use with all of the factors that must be considered. How good is your bitch's head? Is the stud strongly line-bred/in-bred? Or for that matter is your bitch? Good luck picking!
  17. Our precious beagle girl Macey Moo is now Grand Champion Orobay Optical Magic. She is the first lemon & white (or tan & white for that matter) beagle bitch to achieve her grand in Australia. Macey is a mutiple specialty BIS winner, Multi R/up specialty winner and x2 RCC's, Sydney Royal BOB winner, multiple all breeds R/up BIS winner and has won many hounds groups in Brisbane and NSW. Thanks to Sara for her expert handling and special mention must also go to Rhonda Telfer who bred Macey. We could not have dreamed for a better show girl and she is also proving herself in the whelping box with 3 champions from her first litter including 2 multuple group winners and Brisbane Royal BOB/ Sydney Royal CC & R'up BOB winner Ch Baldev Enigma (Riley). Riley is also a all breeds Reserve in show winner and specialty BIS winner (OS). 4 puppies from Macey's latest litter are also in the ring, with 2 multiple Baby in Show winners so far. Thanks for allowing me this brag
  18. We also have the reverse situation with a puppy due to fly out this week to Germany via England. It's a huge relief that she didn't actually leave and then get stranded in Asia or London.
  19. Thanks Sway, I was wondering what the order is. Sara flew back to Sydney this afternoon with my girl and I wasn't able to go
  20. Yes, Michael Trafford was definitely the official photographer as he did our BOB & RUBOB photos. Unfortunately, the dogs were slipping on the table so I don't like our chances of a good shot. They were selling them on CD as the won't go on the website anytime soon.
  21. LOL - I wondered where that one had gone......and for the record - us "yokels" gave back just as good as we got ;) Damn, that's another one I missed Have to admit I like a bit of spice too. I haven't reported anyone. Only once, many years ago have I been angry enough to have got really nasty to a particular DOL member in a topic - I still think to this day it was warranted and I'd do it again. I can't remember back then if there was a report button but if there was no one pressed it.
  22. I've been waiting for some more pics of the beautiful "Ever" - where are they? Congratulation Aziah on her back to back wins
