  1. For me Tsp is teaspoon and Tbls is tablespoon. Hope it fixes the poop
  2. Best of luck with your litter Puglvr - hope all goes well Re the AB's when bitch is in whelp affecting the puppies teeth. With her first litter my girl was on Clavulox from day 28 until a 5 days after whelping with no problems with the puppies teeth or anything else. She was given protexin when she had finished the tablets and the pups were given a small amount of acidophilus yogurt. I agree that it is better to avoid AB's where possible.
  3. In a word "yes". I have a soon to be 8 year old bitch with storm and firework phobias which only started a couple of years ago. She is OK as long as she can hide in a cupboard or under a bed. Would be different if she was a fearful dog in general! None of her kids display any fear related behaviours and her first litter pups are now 3.5 years and the second litter are now over 2 years.
  4. That pic is of my darling Bob as a puppy. He is from Sara's first ever litter and my beloved pet and we haven't used him on any of our girls as there are better dogs conformation wise. Totally different bloodlines (well except for a long way back). This was taken yesterday at 6 weeks old - early days but we are loving this boy
  5. Agree We had a singleton and to be honest she was a pain in the arse :D She was so out there and nothing fazed her which was good BUT our adult dogs wouldn't tell her off. Her own dam would let her pull her around by the ear. It wasn't her fault but boy was she hard work in a home situation!
  6. Thanks for asking They are doing well. Both boys may be kept until 3 months then we will see how they are looking. First stack pics taken earlier in the week: Tri boy - bit of a hairy blob and yes he will develop a neck Tan & White boy - more dominant of the 2, although very easy going.
  7. OMG you could just squish her LizT Cuteness overload
  8. Congratulations to everyone in the December litters thread! I've been looking at the pics and they are just beautiful - I particularly love GSDs
  9. Gorgeous Trisven. They are getting so big!
  10. So sad to see that you have lost a litter and even worse the dam! Heartbreaking Best of luck with Luna's litter and we will look forward to the pics of Bekki's babies
  11. I had exactly the same with happen with a beagle girl 6 years.
  12. We've used 2 of the compost bins from Bunnings. This is the inside set up for our nearly 5 week old puppies. We still need to get something in between the panels that shuts it together and pups can't get over but mum can jump in and out.
  13. I'd imagine these puppies have not been handled much from what you describe. Puppies have different personalities and you may find some that come for a quick hello and then prefer to be off playing with littermates BUT cry when handled doesn't sound right! I suppose as others have mentioned perhaps they were already worn out from playing or if it was a really hot day, sometimes pups will run for cover.... Still I wouldn't be buying one ;)
  14. Hi, has anyone experienced any problems with tick collars and their dogs reacting? My boy had one put on him at the vets after tick treatment. He was in pain for a couple of days when he first came home from the vet. I thought he had hurt his head or neck at the vets - muscular or bruising. Now I'm guessing it was perhaps whatever was happening to his skin on his neck. He only had it on for about 30 hours before I removed it as I didn't think it was warranted in my yard. A couple of days later I've noticed he has lots of scabs on his neck
  15. Just wanted to say how sorry I am Farout Not long ago a beagle breeder in the US put up a photo of her litter that was not able to be revived after her bitch had a elective c-section. All good size and not premature Obviously she was going to take this debarcle further. In your case with some pups surviving and some not, combined with the temperature spike it's a bit complicated and may be hard to get the answer your looking for.
  16. Here are the boys today at 16 days: Love this pic of the tri already enjoying a scratch.
  17. Great to hear they are doing well Saffioraire They are lovely!
  18. I'm waiting for puppy pics from Sara my daughter....... I am missing my Macey so much! It's hard not having her and her litter here this time I do have 3 beagles here - 2 of them my girl's kids from her first litter but it's still hard.
  19. She's so sweet Liz - hope she's a keeper!
  20. I also use Napisan - has to be an antibacterial and used in the correct portions to water, soak overnight. I double rinse to make sure of no residue. Promise you will have no doggie odour ;) I don't use it every wash just when I notice a smell remains after normal washing. I also do this with their soft toys periodically as I think the filling must get mouldy after being in the rain and the sun all the time.
  21. The pups will let you know if they are too warm! They will have their mouths open and they will also cry. Living in humid Queensland I found a summer litter hard work - well harder than a winter litter unless you have air-conditioning. I had my summer litter 2 years ago in my bedroom and found it too hot from about 10am onwards. I had a fan blowing over the top and used partially frozen hot water bottles which they fought over haha! This was fine except they don't stay cold long enough and I needed to rotate 4 bottles - 2 in the freezer while 2 in the box. A bigger whelping box would have helped a bit I think! I hated that I had to keep my girl out of the box some of the time as she generated too much heat. I used cotton sheets during the day and would change to something warmer in the evening. My bitch likes her privacy so I couldn't have her out in the family room. She'd actually prefer to raise her litters in the cupboard if she could No other dogs are allowed full stop or she will fly at them! Every bitch is different of course and we've had ones that allow the other family dogs to peer into the whelping box, and don't seem to care to much about privacy.
  22. Wow fabulous - well done to Kesari Need pics :D Congratulations Saffioraire!
