  2. Thanks guys Temps been going up. Was 37.5 at lunch and is now 37.7 Hoping it will crash over night.
  3. Temp still at 37.3 this morning. She's booked for a section tomorrow morning but would like to see the temp drop under 37 before then. She's having this litter at my daughter's as she is home all day at with her 4 month old baby. I've taken just over a week off though to stay with her and then I have to go back to work Sara does all the handling and will do a better job of training them than me :D Fingers still crossed for 3 puppies!!!
  4. Around 3 days to go here. She was wormed around a week ago. Temp today was 37.3 at 8am and then 37.4 at 8pm. I bathed her yesterday, so in my honour she decided to start digging today - that was a waste of time ;) And of course she is still eating like a horse - literally! Full of grass roots and anything else she can find around the house and yard - as per normal. OH home tomorrow and Wednesday - so relieved about that and I'm on leave from Thursday.
  5. Welcome Murmarshaffs Goodness, very healthy strapping lads in your last litter. Hope you get some girlies this time.
  6. Oh Wazzat, that is sad. for all concerned. But the same thing can happen with a phantom. Don't worry...this to will pass. It will pass, but its not what I want to see nor put my girl through, a new import is imminent, so she can be the base I think, this has just left my bitch in an awful state, 6 kilos lighter and a mess, its been the most heartbreaking thing I have seen, losing pups is fine and we can deal with that, but watching Taha deteriorate is sad. How sad to see your girl like this! Hopefully she will be back to normal soon. Is she not eating cause that's a huge weight loss?
  7. Oh the poor darling! Hope he is going to be OK
  8. Terrific and congratulations Not too long to go now!
  9. Exactly what my girl is like with my male dog. We have to put her on lead just to walk past him while he is sitting on the couch otherwise she will attack him. If he is outside while she is out there she will leave him alone until he looks to be heading towards the house then she will fly at him. When the pups are around 5 weeks old and can spend some time outside she changes tactics and she will try to distract him away from the pups with a toy or similar. Although he won't hurt puppies, he doesn't like them and will growl and run away. No wonder, poor boy! I can't really say how my bitch would be with the other girls as she lives with me and the others live with my daughter.
  10. OMG me too! I had been wondering why I had never seen this 'Pav Lova' before, even though I had seen the avatar before. I clicked on the member name and clicked on 'Display Username History' - gave me a surprise when I figured who it was :D Exactly what I did
  11. One name that gave me a laugh is Pav Lova. I hadn't been on DOL for quite some time and not regularly. I kept seeing this member pop up and was thinking who is the mysterious and dark person........then I realised who it was - love it!
  12. Awesome - what a wonderful friend you have Brennan's Mum Talking about lovely DOL'ers - when I go into the "urgent rescue" forum and see the people doing their best in whatever way they can (rescue groups, assessors, people that offer transport, list posters, people that take the photos, etc) to save lives, it makes me feel very small. Then there are others that just offer money to be placed on various dogs if they get rescued - wow! DOL has many caring members me thinks ;)
  13. Sorry about that Trisven - very depressing
  14. No, I think you did the right thing too. Much better to be safe than sorry There are so many things that can and do go wrong at times with dams and their puppies you want to get onto it early as you can JMHO
  15. Sounds sensible as long as the pup doesn't get too large I'm expecting 2 fat lumps from my girl. Her last litter of 5 were very big and as she is 7 years of age she will be having a elective c-section, then desexed next year after our Nationals.
  16. Fingers crossed that there's another bub hiding in there somewhere! One of Maizie's little girls passed away this morning. RIP little baby. Sorry Lindsay
  17. Wish I had that problem PomsNZ I think everyone goes through that "she's is" "she isn't" stage - you wish you could just forget about it for another week :D I never can! Good luck to you all!
  18. I realise your bitch is a maiden but surely she would have some mammary indications. I don't know about other breeds but by 7 weeks and even when only carrying 1 or 2 puppies there are huge changes not just in the nipples but the swelling of mammary tissue that are nothing like a bitch just experiencing a phantom - even in maiden bitches. Yes, I am quite happy to be told this is not the case ;) I hope your girl is in whelp and the puppies are still alive and well! More importantly that you find out for sure soon.
  19. I think it's great! A win win situation for all concerned
  20. Least she's got her priorities right Love it!
  21. So glad Daisy is OK Gave up on bones a while ago. Bone wedged up between teeth on roof of mouth plus a couple of trips for compacted bone that needed enemas and hooking out by the vet. As someone else mentioned, the safest beef bones are marrow bones but very high in fat and they tend to bury these and dig them up later.
