Hmmm... okay, I'm hormonal at the moment so I tend to read things wrong around this time, but I hope this isn't a dig at me. I just noticed the 'as well' bit is stressed. I posted 647 images to facebook that people could right click and save and use as they wanted as long as they didn't remove them watermark (courtesy to have the photo, courtesy to leave the watermark on.) Anyway, if it's not a dig, my apologies.

This has just happened to us. I had a feeling that we were being turfed as we were paying $500 a week rent in an area that rental prices have soared (our rent should probably have been about $600 a week.) 2.5 years, paid rent sometimes 2 months in advance, looked after the place and the owner wants us out and then tries to claim nearly the entire bond. Still going through RTA to deal with that one. We were very lucky though, at the time we had to move, the house at the back door of our photo studio came up for rent. A whooooole lot cheaper, but has four bedrooms and is closer to the city and we literally roll out of bed and we are in the studio, also closer to the kids' school... best thing, same owner as the studio and he loves us. We were approved within three hours (dogs are still outdoor dogs though. I did ask about coming inside but he said no.) Can't really complain though - it was the only house we applied for this time around. Last time we applied for over 20 homes and were constantly knocked back because of the dogs. I have to admit, I did consider rehoming the dogs back then because we needed a house and simply couldn't get one. I didn't want to be homeless when I was heavily pregnant with twins and had two small kids and four dogs.

Cos - it doesn't have to be a club, just something reasonably priced seeing as how she has two dogs (mini schnauzer pups). Does the rotti club work with all breeds for obedience classes or only rotties?

So does my friend live in the boonies where brothers and sisters get married and banjoes play or do the people who have read this simply have no idea what's out there? :D

Sure was. The Goldie was handled by my sister. Her name is Chipala Dreams Come True - owned by Ros and Lyn Fergusson. She's only 20 months old and winning best of breed finished off her title so to win the group was just awesome. We were all cheering like crazy. Photos of most of the dogs from today (not just the winners) will be up on my facebook either tonight or tomorrow depending on how well behaved my kids are.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I feel that if the canine councils feel they need a rule like this, there should be better rules such as (this is just off the top of my head)... vet cert stating valid reasons puppies were weaned early, vet clearance for new mums, new mums can not be currently feeding pups when competing due to chance of passing infections to pups... obviously not a perfect solution but better than one hard and fast rule that doesn't fit everyone and all circumstances.

You're proving the point of why some people think the rule is needed. You had to wean your puppies out of need, however there is the suggestion that people are weaning puppies early just so they can rush them back into the show ring.

school carpark was closed for everyone today except for pre-paid people because it was wet and boggy. Should be open again tomorrow.

It's against ebay rules to sell live animals on ebay. It happens all the time, just report them and move on.

Yep, two at the same time.

It's when you show two dogs of the same breed at the same time. It doesn't matter what sexes they are, however the more similar they are in appearance, the better it is. The judge is looking for uniformity in the dogs as well as how they work together. This event also shows how skilled the handler is. There is also a 'team' class. Teams are three or more dogs exhibited together. Five is the largest team I have seen. From memory it was 5 corgis.

Brisbane City Council When you find a dog you are required to call up and log the details with the council on 3403 8888 They will ask if you can hold the dog, or if you can take it to a pound or the RSPCA, or if you need someone to collect it. If you choose the last option, you will be waiting possibly 24 hours. If you're really trying your hardest to find the owner, you will also call the RSPCA hotline and as many local vets as possible. Finders also have the ability to upload photos to the council and also the rspca. There is not a requirement to take dogs to the pound in Brisbane.
