  1. Yep. The frame is definitely dominated by orange.
  2. I'm just playing devils advocate here... The bolded parts may cause issues. Whilst we are all aware that there are puppy farms out there like this, there are also puppy farms out there who try to meet the absolute minimum requirements of health testing etc, because they cater for the 'educated' buyers who do ask questions. You would be safer sticking to issues that are negatives of ALL puppy farms... overbreeding, not breeding for betterment of the breed, undersocialised. If you start throwing around claims about health testing, there is always going to be someone who comes out with, "but we health test". If you're not prepared to back up your statements it's best to avoid making them in the first place. (I'm not saying that you're not prepared to back up your statements but it can be pretty hard to stand up and say that ALL puppy farms do the same thing when the fact is that they don't.)
  3. Pointers do have a long working range and will venture a long way away if given the chance. However Sunni is like superglue and will stick by my side no matter who/ what is around and even Kayo who is my feral has excellent recall. Ronin was a bit selective though. Sometimes he came back, sometimes birds were way more interesting. This is definitely something that comes down to the individual dog AND their training. (having been involved with English setters my whole life, I find their recall much less reliable than a pointers. There is a big difference.)
  4. This month's challenge is creatively capturing colour. The goal is to have the entire frame dominated by a single colour. Correct examples: (frame is dominated) Example of close but not quite: (frame has an obvious colour appearing but it's just a person wearing a colour in the middle of the frame.) This challenge is harder than it appears. To be successful you need to think outside the square, be bold and be creative. HAVE FUN!
  5. I only just saw this. Woohoo! Go the Breilla kids
  6. Pointer Great Dane English Toy Terrier Italian Spinone Greyhound Basset Bull Terrier then Pointer, Great Dane and ETT. There are lots of coated breeds that I love, but I could never own one.
  7. Pointer. They are the 'undiscovered' breed. Great dogs, laid back, big smoochers and happy to go with the flow. People see less of them at agility because quite simply, there are a lot less of them out there (due to the fact that few people know what they are). Pointer all the way! (not that I'm biased or anything). Visit my blog and you'll see lots of photos and video http://breilla.wordpress.com/
  8. You don't necessarily have to have ads and banners etc. http://breilla.wordpress.com/ Short domain name, free wordpress blog... and I have had sooooo many people comment about how nice it is and how easy it is to navigate. Took ages to load though ;) That isn't because of the page, it's because I have loaded it with a lot of video and photos that are a mid-quality file. That is personal choice. If people put on smaller resolution files and no videos, it will load up pretty damn quick. Wordpress is one of the largest web platform providers in the world and the interface is used for some pretty amazing websites - I just use the free version though. The paid version can be viewed in my link in my signature. Anyway, my site takes a while to load due to photos and video. That is my choice, I do this for a few reasons - 1/ humans are visual creature - they love photos 2/ I'm a photographer - I like photos 3/ I KNOW I sold my last litter way easier than previous litters because of the website. I had WAY more enquiries than any other litter and I had my choice of QUALITY puppy purchasers. Every person who contacted me was asked for feedback (because I ask our work clients the same questions also - I did it out of habit. ;) ) and the feedback was, * loved your site, it looks so nice * It was so easy to navigate your page * The photos are amazing, so much better than other sites we looked at (okay, I know that I have an advantage here but good quality images make a HUGE difference to people's perceptions of you) * It looks like you put lots of work into your site * You look very professional * I like that you have regular updates about your dogs and it's current. Lots of sites we looked at were outdated and had old information. (Updates are EASY PEASY with a wordpress blog) * Other sites were a mess. Yours was clean. Worpress is also great for generating more traffic to your site. The google bots love it.
  9. I haven't missed the point; but I would like to know why taking the RSPCA for millions is a better solution. Where is the karma [sic] in that ? Where do those millions come from? It comes from the pockets of well meaning people who probably, like the majority of Australians, think the RSPCA is a wonderful caring and ethical organisation. Outrageous statements like SBT123's don't help in the slightest. No it comes from the pockets of the people they have falsely yet successfully accused of cruelty over the years. THAT is the karma part. FTR: I think that for the most part, MOST RSPCA workers really do a great job - but there are so so so so many issues within the organisation that they are just a mess and I don't feel I can support them.
  10. I think a few people have missed SBT's point. It's a little bit 'RSPCA cries wolf' and a little bit of karma They keep screwing over people who are doing the right thing and they win... so when it comes to someone who possibly really needs to face the charges and they lose, there is little sympathy for the RSPCA having to pay up. Just hopefully the animals are no longer suffering no matter the outcome of the case.

  12. Kayo gets called, "Feral Bitch Face" I do love her though, but she's a cow.
  13. And here's a new one - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pag...&ajaxpipe=1
  14. Oh gee is it necessary to be so harsh? how about a little bit of compassion? What the? I don't see harsh, I see the exact same thing I was thinking. I just have a thing about the word "mongrel" - sounds like a putdown. Sounds like it, but it isn't. There's even a thread in the breed sub-directory called, "Mutts and Mongrels".

  16. WOOHOO! GO FWARKIE! First Breilla Best in Show winner.
  17. oooh... great photos Too many to comment on.
  18. The bendy baby photos? Uh huh... me too... it's why I stick to a more 'natural' look. Babies are felxible but most people don't give birth to contortionists.
  19. btw... here is a link to an Aussie girl who does all this knitting herself. Danielle is also a photographer so understands what people are after for shoots. http://www.etsy.com/shop/busyknittingbee
  20. Before anyone goes out and tries to hang babies from trees in cheesecloth or put them in potato sacks and sit them upright or bends a baby into poses that are unnatural, I'd like you all to take note of this part of the Kelley Ryden interview: These images are ALWAYS composites with two or more photos put together. Hands are on the baby at all times and supporting them. It is NOT SAFE to do these images without having someone brace the baby (no matter how you see some people do it on youtube tutorials :shudder: ) There is a great Aussie newborn/maternity photographer named Kelly Munce who will be speaking at "The Event" (huge photography conference and workshop with internationally renowned speakers), one of the topics she will be talking about it safety in newborn photography. Too many people don't realise that these are composite images... babies are't actually suspended from the tips of tree branches in little hessian wraps and so on. "bendy/hanging" baby isn't for everyone to shoot. Please make sure that if you do decide to try it out, safety MUST BE PARAMOUNT at ALL times. ** I am only giving the warning because I am really shocked at what some people do to these tiny babies and it is truly terrifying what inexperienced people do because they don't know any better.**
  21. Amazing... someone telling the truth when they are trying to drum up business and people jump up and down about it.
