  1. I am so sorry to hear about Cruz. I often thought about him and wondered how he was progressing. ;) The girls all look absolutely divine. I'm glad Kip is helping you through a difficult time. I know how hard it would of been. I look forward to you sharing more of your dogs with us. Gosh I so want one of these dogs oneday.
  2. That is the beauty of the image. It was argued as morbid hanging, but also jumping playing. It left a unanwered question that left the judges wanting more. Thanks everyone for the comments. I really owe this all to Ash. She pushed me to entered and guided me the whole way through. She is our little DOL photography mum pushing each one of us to find our feet. We are all very lucky to be taken under her wing. I should also mention her incredible eye. When Ash finds someone she wants to push they all ened up taking home awards. There was others out there she helped not just me. She knows her stuff.
  3. Huga, Yep, I re edited it. It looks really nice printed. Will show you when I next see you. I took a risk with that scary jumping legs. I got some advice on it with some very experience photographers before hand and they both didn't know how to score it. So Ash said now is the time to put in a risky print. It was so cool as the judges totally got the photo when they talked about it. Very surprising. It gave me a few sleepless nights and I think the first thing I said to Ash when I woke up on Judging morning was "what was I thinking entering that photo".... she just laughed. I should also mention I watched Tess prints get judged and her work scored all very easy silvers. There was a few animal pic's entered but hers went straight to an award without an argument. It was a very very tough year for pet photography and 99.9% of dog portraiture entered got totally hammered.
  4. These I only entered in the big boys comp..... my double whammy gold. Silver distinction. This nearly went gold, it was seriously so close, but I put a silly border on it. Silver
  5. so here are photo's from QPPA's and AIPP's. These I only entered in QLD Awards and they all got silvers. Huga the award whore Dis & Snot Ralph Me and Roc in a selfie.
  6. I did see the Mastiff and the baby pic and not mine.... nice dog though. Its been a big weekend with some pretty amazing results. Totally unexpected, I thought my prints would bomb esp with one I took a big risk with. Congrats to Ash and Tess. Thanks everyone for the support. I will try to put some prints up later. I better do some work now.
  7. Yep, if they are discussed or argued (which is what you want ) I will note all the comments so you can review them. No worries. Ash taught me well. I really dont think you have much to worry about though. ;)
  8. Tess, I am looking out for your prints on Fri along with everyone else's. I have seen them printed and they look AMAZING. I think you will go really really well.
  9. Yep step in my way you will get taken out. I forgot you were in Melbourne. What a shame you're working. You will just have to come to Brisbane next year and maybe with some incentive like entering some prints. :D
  10. I didnt tell there would be refreshments so close. I will be there too so look out for a mad blonde rushing from room to room.
  11. I havent done a online course, but I would be interested to see how you enjoy it. You could look into weekend courses. I did one in the Sun Shine Coast every Sat for 5 weeks and loved it. If you are interested I can PM you all the details.
  12. I see photographers trying to copy others styles, right down to the same backgrounds, its cringing. There's inspiration and then there is straight copy. redangle, you should jump on you tube and start looking at the PS territorials. There are some great one. You get to see before and after shots while at the same time see how its done. You will really enjoy it.
  13. No that about 4 days worth there if I'm lucky. Red likes his food.
  14. move over Daniel. Thanks guys, he is such a great dog, I cant believe my luck really.
  15. I thought it was time to update some photo's of Reddells. Only because I am so proud of my little man. We had out first conformation show on Sat. Ashanali & Caesars mum came along to help us, even in the pouring rain, aren't they awesome.... ;) . We didnt get put up but Red did so well and he was really well behaved. We both had a great time and I think we will enjoy our showing. Plus not to mention he is turning into a fabulous model for me.
  16. I dont like dog parks but it is nice to see dogs having fun. Good work tlc.
  17. Congrats on your new camera, my first critique on these would be you have one postion of camera direction. Try getting down low or just experiment in different angles with the camera direction. Also try moving the subject off the middle of frame, play around with different compositions.
  18. LuvLottie, also try doing a search, there is a few of these threads about. You will find heaps of helpful info.
  19. Congrats you will love this lens. It's so versatile. This was my first big buy before I even had a decent camera.
  20. Maybe red frills on your hotpants too....
  21. That we did and it was awesome. The following RD gets is incredible. These teams are like celebrities. Huga, Love the image and the stockings. I think we should make that our team colours. You know great minds think alike RD was so inspiring I was going to do a stocking/sock shot with Redman. But it wont be as cool.
  22. Toolbox. Oh well, Jackie, you gave it a try and now know how much of a waste of time people like this are. On to educating the willing.
