  1. That's awesome Perse, I never would have thought of an infection in the penis or sheath - I've automatically gone straight to behavior. We have had a look (poor darling) and there doesn't appear to have any noticeable issues around it, but considering we are not pros, ill book him in to have a check up anyway, it's been awhile anyway. I've already sent my email off so it will be a double whammy!
  2. He is desexed, but he has started humping Mia, and prettyi much anything and everything else, and today, for the first time in nearly 4 years, his penis came out! Hubby and I both saw it, couldn't believe it! I sent Jane an email to get her take on it - it's new behavior for him. Please note we are total novices!
  3. Thanks all. There are 2 large water bowls at opposite sides of the house, and a large clam shell full of water outside. I haven't thought of walking the dogs to the water bowl to remind them, and ill certainly start doing that. There has been another development which has led us to consult with our behaviorist - I think it may have something to do with dominance. I look forward to hearing back from her.
  4. So it's hot where I am today, about 39 degrees. Myself and the 2 beagles are now in the bedroom with the aircon on. Both beagles are toilet trained, however I am finding on these really hot days Charlie will urinate inside on the tiled TV area. Not all the time, just some. It's a bright yellow and dries kind of thick. There is not a large amount of it. Thoughts? Vet check? ETA - def have plentiful access to cold clean drinking water at numerous places on the property. Thanks,
  5. Thanks everyone! Didn't think about the "I'm hungry" vomit! Charlie used to do it when he was little. A later feed time fixed this. Ill watch them and see how it goes! I really appreciate all the responses! :)
  6. Hi all, I have 2 beagles, Charlie and Mia. Overnight, we have had some vomiting on the couch. I don't know which one was sick. Both dogs seem to be bright and in good spirits at this point. The vomit really had nothing of substance - though it was a little yellow - which brings me to concerns surrounding pancreatitis. However dinner was only oats and sardines (in spring water NO OIL!). To vet or not to vet - that is the question.... As they both seem energetic and happy, gums are fine ...I'm leaning towards just monitoring them...
  7. Hey everyone, I am so thrilled with all these responses - I am going to compile all this and email it through tomorrow...THANK YOU!
  8. Awesome thanks Jed. I'm thinking kangaroo meat as its pretty lean... Not sure about chicken frame mince?
  9. I'm not sure what they fed her before but I know for sure that now she is only being fed the science diet, def no pasta and rice. Thank for that info though because once every blue moon we do go a the beagles left over white rice (so not to waste).... I def will not do that anymore. Jules, thanks for asking your friend when you do. Much appreciated :)
  10. Friends of mine have a lovely older boxer who has pancreatitis. At their vets advice, they are feeding one of the special hills science diet. We were talking on Friday night, and I mentioned I fed my 2 beagles raw. Can a dog with pancreatitis be fed a raw diet? They want the best for their lovely old dog, and like the idea of a raw diet. They are going to talk to their own vet, but with their permission, they are happy for me to ask the question to the DOL community. Thanks :)
  11. I don't mind all doggie licks except for my belly button. I really hate that!
  12. We are planning our next dog, but it won't be for about 8 years lol. GSD reject from the police or armed forces, or from a breeder that a friend of ours knows.
  13. The beagles lie at whatever door we are hiding behind. Very calmly, just waiting, no barking....just staring.
  14. A Durack Pet Motel. No website. Only place we would leave our dogs ever. White pages are your friend.
  15. King size bed, 2 large humans, 2 normal size beagles. We bought the bed for the dogs....
  16. Jane Harper - will travel - she is amazing. She has helped me with my food aggressive beagle.
  17. Did the vet induce vomiting at all? My beagle Mia once got into the food cupboard.
  18. Hoping this has a positive ending xxx
