The Royal is a real tough environment so make sure this isn't your first trial Its also a very l o n g day but its great fun. Scoota's favourite event is the Royal - he gets to share fairy floss and lollies with all the kids

Showdog - did you know somebody in the stop over country or did the exporting company arrange this for you? I am not sure how we go leaving from a rabies free country and possibly stopping in Amsterdam - waiting to hear from the breeder as to the best possible route to Oz.

Hi Minet I think I saw you a couple of weeks ago - I had the pack of red dogs training on an oval away from the main training area. If it was you, I have to pat you on the back as you made no attempt to take the dog into a situation you couldn't handle. You spent time with the dog after you got it out of the car trying to get some control, you stayed away from my kids (BIG pat on the back for this one) and you walked the dog around the oval where there were limiting distractions. Yes you need help - but if this was you - you are doing all the right things

The Nova Scotia Duck Toller Tell His Funny Quirks
Ptolomy replied to Jason Cyr's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have a couple of vocal ones. In attempt to encourage my youngest to be non vocal I now get air snaps where its like she is attempting to say something but knows she has to be quiet about it Mine are all food obsessed ;) They all must lay on the bed where I want to lie. Pillows are for tollers not humans The toilet door must remain open - if you attempt to close it - it will be nudged open by somebody with a red nose Water coming out the end of the hose or sprinkler is the bestest game in the whole wide world for a red head Countersurfing should be part of the breed standard Repetition in training is a sign that they have done something not quiet right so they change what they are offering whether you wanted it or not I am sure I can come up with some more........ -

Should I Get A Second Opinion?

Its a deal - I need to look at the schedule to see when I can enter her. Can't get to K9 on a Tuesday or Thursday at the moment - but in the process of buying a house - so stay tuned........ and thanks so much - you came close to get a toller - this might be the next best thing :p and it cures my SFE issue Glad to hear your little bald fellow was glad to see you and is doing OK. -
OK - something different - go and get 4 or 5 cans out of the pantry and stand them upright 20cm or so apart. Place a scent article somewhere amongst the cans and send him to find it. Then add another article in am ongst the cans and let us know what happens.

I keep checking back in for updates - so glad things are passing through and that you wil soon be allowed to visit (sorry my pet hate about Murdoch :-)) Now just so you don't feel left out and forget all your showing skills, I have a little red head who needs a handler -
After the health issues with Beans and Lexi I decided to take out pet insurance for Cider - at least for the first 12 months. I went with PIA.

Just wanted to say thanks to the Southern River Committee members for a really well run and enjoyable trial today Well done and a BIG pat on the back :D

You will learn a lot from you first trial experience. If you go in with the mindset that if things go pearshaped you can either withdraw or help her along - and you believe that you have done all the training - then I say go for it

Should I Get A Second Opinion?

The vet handed me the contents of Lexis stomach and intestines in a plastic bag - three big orange berries and a pile of grass. It went straight in the bin Let us know the updates when you get them Gee, how can those berries cause a blockage? I have an awful Cocos palm at my place but it's out the front where the dog isn't allowed off lead so he will never eat one but I'm surprised they can cause a blockage! A toller died a couple of months ago in Perth from a blockage caused by these berries - they are like lollies to the dogs :D -

Valley CBR - gees he doesn't do things by half measures does he?? Any idea what caused the blockage and dare I ask if you have pet insurance? I have my fingers and toes crossed that he will be Ok. Murdoch is the place to be - just a bugger that it is a public holiday. Lexi had a blockage 2 years ago caused by an orange cocus palm berry - so I really do know what you are going through. Sending big hugs your way - and goodonya for going with your instinct. -
Big congratulatons Amypie of your pass yesterday He is certainly doing a great job! Handling dead birdies Rubystar - you are way ahead of me on that front - well done Caffy and Snaz dusted off their obedience shoes again - winning novice today with 196 - this was their title - well done mate and thanks to Bedazzled for taking Sexi Lexi into open stays for me. I actually had 3 dogs on a pass but only had one friend - so Beans got to stay in the car The occassionally clever one was a very good boy winning open and second in UD on a count back - 1/2 a point covered the first 3 places and the standard of work was really impressive.
-
I went last year - did obedience one day which is on the other side of the grounds to where the show dogs are, in an area which housed cows the day berfore, and then did top open obedience competition on another day which was in the show pavillion. Toileting facilities for the dogs in the show pavillion are hideous! Show ring was cut into 2 - similar to our Royal show area
-
Wow Bedazzled has a brag 199 in UD this arvo Well done mate Sorry I wasn't there to video that one
-
So what has happened now - dare I ask????
-
My solution - train gloves Does he still jump when you are standing right in front of him?
-
I would have - but too late now - settlement went through today
