  1. I was thinking the same thing, but more because people might assume your prices are the cheapest in town, when they may not be.
  2. Not even sure if it's the same area or not, but I saw in the wanted section of the Dol classifieds a family looking for pet friendly accomodation near Adelaide. Worth a try I figured.
  3. Link Here Holy crap, I just found this website. Just scroll down, and click on a letter of the alphabet.
  4. Hair and the Hound (instead of Fox and the Hound) Hound 'n Hair Hound Dog Hound Lounge ETA: House of Hounds Hounds by (insert your name here)
  5. None of the vets I work with would have the foggiest if I mentioned the words "crate training". Yet when a patient comes in for something like and ACL repair, they ask "do we have any of those black cage things to hire out at the moment?" (We have a few metal crates we hire to clients for such occasions)
  6. I take one of my soft crates every where I go with the dogs. They head straight in, plonk down, and fall asleep. Like OSoSwift said, without it they'd never really get a proper rest. I don't normally have one set up at home (they sleep on the couch and our bed) but if I do for any reason set it up, they're straight in and loving it. I get the opposite to what you're worried about. I've had some many comments of "oh wow, that's a great idea. Where do I buy one of those?"
  7. Why can't some people see that using the nappy/training pads etc are not just a bandaid solution? They're part of getting the dog back into a slightly normal routine of sitting on the bed with her owner, which is largely what has caused this issue in the first place, is it not? The OP is not simply trying to cover/hide the problem behaviour, but help it. Good luck HugUrPup.
  8. Your boys are lovely Antanquin. Especially the first one.
  9. She is a funny little girl. At home she's lively, but when out and about she is "reserved". Here's some proof that she can actually run! That's her in 3rd place. :D
  10. I have something in my eyes. Thanks for sharing. What a special dog he was.
  11. I've said it before and I'll say it again, what amazing photos you take Kirislin. Love the ones of my Mindy having a nanna nap.
  12. Website Here I haven't used them personally, but have only heard great things about them from other people.
  13. I get my pet mince (freshly ground chicken carcasses) from my butcher. No preservatives at all.
  14. i'm with you, it actually makes me pretty said to think about how they would've felt in there the poor things Especially when they open the lid and put more live dogs on top of the already dead ones and start the process all over again. Poor little things. Sometimes they put cats in with the dogs too apparently.
  15. Weren't Chewbacca and Bilbo Baggins involved? Maybe pm them.
  16. Looks like the perfect day. Gee, they're alot of dogs at that beach!
  17. I do my 6 dogs usually fortnightly. All are taught to except it, so none of them mind at all. Where I work (vet clinic) we charge $31.50 to do them. I can't believe we charge this ridiculous price, and am embarrassed to tell clients how much it is. Us nurses often do them for free without the boss knowing.
  18. Oopps sorry, I might have forgotten all about this thread. Here's a few pics of our dog bed (based on the Kuranda beds) that my husband knocked together. Easily fits 4 whippets! Hope the pics help. Let me know if you need more.
  19. Will take a pic in the morning before work. Will have to post it when I get home from work though, about 7pm. Watch this space.............. ;)
  20. Thanks for the idea Sir WJ Hubby's always looking for something to weld so I might see if he can knock something up for the lil' terrors ;) You're welcome. I already had one of the metal frames. I used to use the hessian beds but found they didn't last long enough. My local pet shop stocks some nice heavy duty fabric covers,(about $40), then we just knocked on the pvc. My husband cut a strip along the length of the piping (about 1cm) I think, to allow it to go over the metal frame. Hardest part would be having to pull them off again if you ever do need to replace the mat, but we haven't come to that yet. Shouldn't be too hard though. This all occured after I showed him a picture of the Kuranda bed, and he said "pfft, I can make one just like it." Want a photo?
