  1. I think I too just fell in love with Emma. Just like so many did during her time with you. What a terrific bond the two of you had. RIP Emma.
  2. Yes, that's a good point. Sure there are some lovely ones out there somewhere. If all else fails, head to the boxer thread! :D
  3. I don't know of any boxer breeders, but if they could go along to the Royal Melbourne show the day the boxers are on, I'm sure they could meet some boxers there and speak to breeders. (As long as it's not when they're trying to prep their dogs)
  4. Umm....no. Why would I do that when that's their correct name not a shortened/modified version I suppose it is already shortened though because most people just say kelpie, rather than Australian kelpie.
  5. OK I will believe the first one but is a whippet really called a whippy??? if you go into the All things Whippet thread you will see everybody seems to say Whippy I just refer to my 4 as "The Whips". I have this thing about just adding a y or ie to names, ie Ridgy, Pappy, Goldie, Staffy, Frenchie, Westie. LOL. Does my head in. So it's just "The Whips" at our house. :D
  6. Kelpie hair is insidious stuff :p It floats around - gets in around the sides. The middle parts of the seat that are fully covered are fine, it's just around the edges of the buddy. We actually have car seat covers, too but they occasionally slide as well so we end up with dog hair around the edges - also through the holes in the buddy where the seat belt buckles go through. Thanks for explaining. I use a backseat buddy with my 4 whippets. Inside the backseat buddy I have vetbed. I guess the odd hair does go astray. Having a leather interior is a blessing though. :D
  7. I'm a tad confused How can hair be getting all over the car and seats if you're using a backseat buddy?
  8. Terribly sorry for your loss. The few years you had Emma I'm sure were the most fabulous years she could have wished for. RIP Emma. Your Mum will meet with you again one day.
  9. So very sorry to hear of your loss. Cindy sounds like she was one very special dog. (Sorry to hear of your sad news too Pretty Miss Emma)
  10. If your vet doesn't routinely do it, I'd ask for her to be placed on IV fluids too.
  11. Holy Cow....11 No wonder Mum is asleep. Well done to both of you.
  12. To assume a dog that needs a fully fenced secure off lead area is out of control or aggressive is wrong imo. What about certain breeds eg. the majority of sighthounds. Not many Afghans, Saluki, Borzoi etc would be let offlead in an open area. (Some are exceptional, but this is rare). Many just don't have the 110% recall needed. I too agree with others about asking first before entering when someone else is using the area. Mainly for the safety of my own dogs though. You never know what the other dog is like with strange dogs.
  13. Done and PM'd. Hope it's what you needed. :D PS. So glad my huge PM didn't go "poof" half way through, I wasn't looking forward to starting over.
  14. Will PM you when I get home. Those questions are pretty broad through. Not only will they vary between clinics, but also between each vet in each clinic. Are you working in a clinic at the moment?
  15. Stormie, was it you that once posted about swimming in your bosses pool on your lunch break?? Where do you work, Utopia Vet Hospital? Yep, that was also me Need a new VN by any chance?
  16. Stormie, was it you that once posted about swimming in your bosses pool on your lunch break?? Where do you work, Utopia Vet Hospital?
  17. What an awful attitude Chewbacca. What does it matter if there are 1000's out there in the same situation. Isn't it nicer to help out just two rather than just add them to the 1000's?
  18. ^^^This Each day at work I am guaranteed to hear a vet promote x breeds and hybrid vigour. They say as long as the pup appears healthy and the bitch seems friendly that's all that matters. They recommend people to scan the papers for dogs, as they're much cheaper than going to an overpriced registered breeder who is in it for the money. **sigh**
  19. I just saw some updated pics of them on fb. They've grown heaps!
  20. RIP little grey. Sorry to hear about this Rebanne. How is everyone else getting on?
  21. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. What a tragedy. RIP Brock.
  22. Me too. What would you like to know?
  23. Has been doing the rounds for a while now. Great isn't it.
  24. It wasn't diagnosed with a rupture I don't think, as the ear canal was too narrow to see down. There was some concern if they didn't get the gunk out that it may rupture. That's how I read it anyway.
