  1. I don't have a kindle but was able to download onto my pc & also read the links.
  2. I was preparing lunch today when I caught Laci out the corner of my eye & thought, my you've got so tall & WT??? at the same time. When I looked at her properly she was standing on her hind legs on a small esky that was beside me, with a look on her face that said, "what you doin mum?"
  3. Dogs NSW reopen Jan 14 I think it is. A year is definitely too long.
  4. Rest easy dear little puppy. So, so sad.
  5. Laci had a great day at her first show, getting a 3rd place in sweepstakes amongst 21 other puppies. Not a bad effort indeed. So proud of her. With her prize. All tuckered out after a busy afternoon.
  6. Yesterday was Laci's 1st show & this is what greeted me in the morning just hours before it began. eta: just as well she was going to have a bath anyway.
  7. That's terrible news Esky. I hope you find another place soon. That's a shame DtDO. Your trip to your parents place sounded so exciting. Nala looks a professional show dog dotdashdot, you should do well in the ring.
  8. Oh those naughty puppies. Laci takes off with things all the time but it's the chewing of the little things I can't see until I look in her mouth. Yesterday it was Panda's hair. The 1st piece was about 4 cms long. Glad I got that out. It was time for Panda to have a good groom. He's been very slow to give up his winter coat.
  9. Great photos everyone. Here's some of Laci. Last week in the clam pool, Panda wasn't so keen but Laci loved it. Three month old Laci yesterday.
  10. Such a gorgeous pic! Congratulations to all involved :) So tiny next to mum. Congrats on a lovely litter steve & huski.
  11. I wouldn't clip a long haired dog. Was told years ago that it's there for a reason, cool in summer & thicker for the winter. If it's clipped really close & the dog likes to lay in the sun they can get sunburnt. Also was told at an obedience club I used to take April to, when it's hot don't wet the dog all over, only on the tummy. When the sun hits the wet coat it heats it up causing the dog to over heat.
  12. That's hilarious! I wondered if that might be it! It took me weeks to work up to trimming the doodle hair, and it was so much better afterwards. No more dripping! Can highly recommend doing it asap :) I liked the doodle hair on Panda, you could always tell if he'd done a wee or not. Was most upset when he was spayed & the vet shaved it off.
  13. Congratulations Pinchy, are you able to post pics of your puppy. Gotta a bc puppy.
  14. Me too. Those ears & paws, will be awhile before he grows into them. Great pics of Nala & video of Envy too.
  15. I found with Panda that he kept chewing things long after teething had finished. Can't remember if Tilba was the same. I have heard or read somewhere that their teeth are still rather sore even after they are fully grown. They need time before resuming things like tug.
  16. That's so sad for you Lhok, but in the long run best for Treble to find a loving & caring home. Good luck with your new rottie pup, any idea when you will get it?
  17. Maybe ask the breeder to change his food, how long till you pick up the little fella? Could be time for the change. Ezio is gorgeous & I think he looks like a Waffles. :)
  18. Apparently turkey legs are classed as red meat. My dogs mostly get chicken legs & sometimes 1/4's, turkey legs if small enough & turkey wings with excess skin cut off, lamb shanks maybe once a fortnight, same with beef chunks. They don't mind chicken hearts & lamb kidney but I can't get them to eat chicken livers - only the packet vet's treat liver. Very occasionally they get tinned sardines & raw egg. Raw chat forums say to feed 2 - 3% of a dog's adult weight per day. Here are suggestions on what to feed. http://rawfeddogs.net/Recipes/
  19. So proud of my little 10.5 week old baby Laci. Yesterday we had to go to my brother in law's funeral on the Central Coast. Much debate on what to do with her. First off we were going to take her with us but as the morning turned out quite warm & not assured of a shady spot to park the car I decided to leave her at home. As she climbs out of her pen, couldn't leave her in a crate all day, so I decided to clear out the bathroom of all she could chew up & eat, :D which left no alternative but to put Tilba's crate against the vanity, minus it's door so she'd have somewhere to sleep & couldn't chew on the vanity doors or edges. Two of my son's couldn't go to the wake so went together, then one back to his home in Ulladulla after dropping his brother off & youngest son then going to Wollongong for the weekend. They got home some 5+ hours after leaving in the morning to find her all wet, she loves to paddle & splash in her water bowls, thought maybe some wee but no poo. Cleaned her up & left again an hour later. We arrived home another 5 hours later, I immediately took her outside where she did the biggest wee, on the path mind, almost as if to tell me, look Mum I waited to be let out. Such a good girl.
  20. I have a little thief here too. She loves my thongs & sandles, taking Panda's bedding out of his bed, tissues, the list goes on. And it didn't take her long to know that if I went after her when she has something in her mouth, to run away from me. Note to self, I must remember to have something to swap the contraband with. Not always easy on the spur of the moment. Poor Nala. I hope she's back to normal soon. When I 1st got Panda he had the runs, not a pleasant thing with a white fluffy but, even though I fed him what the breeder said he was on (Optimum). We were washing his but sometimes a couple of times a day. I rang the breeder to tell her & she said oh I thought it had cleared up with Scourban & did I give him some. I hadn't heard of it before & asked her to spell it. I then took him to the vet & she said not to give him the Scourban because it only dehydrated them & to put him on a diet of boiled chicken & rice. It cleared up after a few days but still to this day I have to watch what he has, he's on a raw meaty bone diet now & we only have a messy but every other month. Envy's a big girl now, it doesn't take long for them to grow. :)
  21. That's exactly what it looked like to me, she's so cat like! That was my thought too. Dogs usually urine mark, lol.
  22. My first border collie passed 7 weeks before her 15th birthday. Middle dog in sig pic at 14 yrs & 2 or 3 days. I always regret not being there for her last birthday but had a wedding in Qld at that time. She developed dementia, was deaf & going blind. Was so sad as she was my heart dog. My son's mixed breed dog passed 2 weeks after her 12th birthday. She was a biggish dog at 31 kg. This pic was taken on 9.9.09 at 9.09am. when she was 5 weeks shy of 9 years old. :) ETA: All my previous dogs were cross breeds & lived around 12 - 13yrs
