  1. Added Fixed up Entered as 1 word thanks for that SwaY
  2. i think also the reason why most of them can have two is that they are working breeders, so there dog is never going to get a title or anything. i dont really know how it works though. thanks for that PPS
  3. got a couple more dobie breeders to add please- Von Liston Von Hellas SchutzDobe / SchutzShep (GSD prefix) Hundesport Von Zavrat (not 100% sure if they are still around) Kaiserhundz Meinemann (No longer breeding, so im not sure whether you still want that) Also you spelt one of the breeders - Von Shien Lup - but its actually spelt - Von Chien Loup - Thanks for that SwaY, you've made a great site.
  4. had to ask again, anyone here doing the 2nd block training in Melb?? ETA-cant spell and type at the same time.
  5. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=152472 check the above topic. EP is apparently not irradiated.
  6. i found when kaiser was on an all barf diet, he bunged on the weigh, now he's 50/50 with EP, and he's looking quite healthy. but barf is so cheap, $1 a kg for C.F Mince and $1 for three full frames, so cheap. considering most of the rest of the food in his barf diet is all stuff we eat - eggs, yoghurt ect - its defiantly the cheaper alternative, and is healthy too(although i can get a bit paranoid when it comes to getting the chicken frames, i have to make sure they have been frozen for a certain amount of time, to try and kill anything that may be in there) ETA - i payed $36.50 for the current bag of EP that i have atm, its the holistic's range 7.5 kg (equals $4.86 per kilo = 4 cups = $4.86 a day based on F.T.P.Os formula above) and $32 for the EP super premium senior for my old girl all bought from petstock.
  7. WOW well done Judi!!!!! i know its a little late for stories and lets just say this occurred before the ban, not yesterday. my grandma has a 60kg plus entire female rotty, who has not left her house in about three years cause she is big, pulls and does not like other dogs. i took her out for a walk on the prong collar and she was perfect, she didn't even try to pull. she was sooooo happy to get out of their back yard (which is 1/4 acre) she was able to sniff new smells pee in new places. i have never seen her so happy. and if the ban on prongs gets lifted, she'll be able to go for a walk every day, but until then she is confined to the backyard.
  8. thats sucks TB, dont worry, i dont think its possible to fail, it is open book  you'll be fine.
  9. i will always stick by my saying(well its not mine but you get the point) " a trained dog is a safe dog" if a dog is trained to only ever do something on command, and at NO other time then it is far safer than the dog that does not know what "biting" is and does not know what it is doing wrong when it bite's someone. i hope that makes sense. the main reason for all this is that they are targeting Schutzhund, when IMO it is just trick training. you take the sleeve away and the dog wouldn't know what to do(in most cases)
  10. thats ridiculous!! and for the amount of money we pay for the course!!! i hope you gave them a really bad report/evaluation.
  11. thats really good, then you'll have the qualification. i tell you they can be a bit slow, and screw you around. a few weeks in advance they told us where the venue was, i called up the day before to confirm everything, when they got frustrated with me, cause they had sent us the wrong address for the place. which screwed everything up for a few of us cause we thought it was along the train line, then it was moved to the middle of no-where(which would have been great for me if i had my license, as it was 20 mins down the road, but unfortunately im too lazy to get my license) it really sucked.
  12. i ordered something from dogquip on friday. he said it would be sent off either on fri or mon, which is fine, but no money has been taken out of my account yet, i'll have to call him tomorrow to find out. Dogquip are really good, and there soft tugs are sooo cheap compared to every where else. i have the attachment of it to show people, but im not sure whether im allowed to or not. so its best to email Kurt, he gets back to you quite quick and is really nice. ETA- k9 Force may also have them - http://www.k9force.net
  13. if you are doing it via distence learning you get offered the two (assistence and scent), but after finding out about the tracking one i requested to do that and am doing it with the local students.
  14. hmm thats strange, really good thing though. they emailed me with my assessment 1 results this morning, passed that, thats all good. now just waiting on the three others i've done so far. i have my tracking and man trailing elective block next w/e, that should be good.
  15. i got to lenards, 3 chicken frames for a $ and they're not just the chest, like my local butcher, they have the neck as well.
  16. Ive always found that a trained dog is a safe dog. if you teach the dog what biting is, and when to and not to do it, then the dog knows when it is and is not allowed to bite. my dog for example knows that is only allowed to bite/tug a certain toy (when commanded to, which is "play"), and NOTHING else. if a dog does not know what it is doing how does it know what is right and wrong?? also kaiser does not care at all for food, so his motivation is a game of tug if he works well, food does not do s**t for motivation, unless i starve him of his breakfast, which i dont want to do.
  17. According to this legislation its illegal if (secnario) you walk past a dog, it grabs what you were holding in your hand, you struggle to get it off the dog, there for fighting/pulling/tugging with the dog. that dog is know DANGEROUS!! Quick everyone lock yourself in a room, nearly every dog in the world is DANGEROUS!! No Erny, i remember it also as held by a person. i'll go look through my comp i have the thing somewhere. as to Steve Austin, he told as that, yes, at a vic seminar he was taken aside and warned about playing "tug" with his dog. ETA - All i could find was the one from 2007, and it was as above. hmmm must have been mistaken.
  18. *Achoo* oh excuse me Erny, do you still need any personal stories??
  19. AWWWW i know how cute is it. and kitten/cat hicups are sooo cute too. sorry i cant help you at all, but i gather its normal.
  20. Cengage / Thompson offer a training course, i dont know anything about it though, sorry. im doing the NDTF course and thats pretty good. im also looking into the Delta society's course but i've been told its really expensive. good luck with your search, keep us all updated, please, i am interested to find out about any others. Cheers,Jess
  21. I've just started teaching th basics, ( i dont know yet either) i've started by conditioning my dogs to the clicker, and i am starting th basics of targeting(i thought it might come in handy)
  22. Finished the first block training last week, really good, i throughly enjoyed the training part. we got stuffed around a bit though, one day they didn't pick up some of the students till nearly and hour and a half late!! but other than some annoying little things it was overall a pretty good week. hows everyone else been finding it so far?? and what have you chosen/chose for the complex skill assessment??
  23. Ahh thank you, i didn't know that. i'll call my bank up next week. thanks heaps for that!!!!
