  1. Still haven't done anything... Woops! Though I do have an idea for ONE shot! Wooh!
  2. Personally, these are the steps that I did with both of my dogs... 1. Teach the elephant trick (front paws up on a phonebook and moving around the phonebook with paws staying in the same spot) which teaches some backend awareness 2. Teach walking backwards 3. Teach walking up stairs/phonebook. Eventually I used this behaviour to teach my older dog to do handstands. My youngest is just about to start learning.
  3. I've been tagged to do both Ahsoka and Jedi, but I haven't gotten around to doing Jedi's yet. Ahsoka 1. Ahsoka is a Kelpie-in-disguise Ahsoka is a Finnish Lapphund, though you wouldn't know it temperament-wise!! She is the craziest, funniest, most highly-driven Finnish Lapphund that I've ever met and gets called a "Kelpie in a Fluffy Suit" quite a bit!! She does have her quiet moments, but the majority of the time she's on the go! 2. Ahsoka LIVES for tennis balls and toys. She is always seen with a toy in her mouth or at least one sitting near by!! If no one is around to play with her, she will invent games including throwing a ball for herself! 3. Ahsoka loves to talk She will 'woo woo' at you to tell you that she is not happy and often just makes random noises throughout the day! It's very cute!! It has become a bit of a problem though with her obedience work -- in her down stays she talks which is obviously not allowed in the ring!! So although she's ready otherwise to start competing, I have to work out a way to keep her quiet first!! 4. Ahsoka is a real tease! Ahsoka LOVES to play fetch but will often do a victory lap (or two or three) before bringing it back!! This often includes running over to Jedi and showing off to him that she has a ball and he doesn't!! Ner ner ner!! 5. Ahsoka makes waking up in the morning my favourite time of day Ahsoka and I have cuddles every morning before I get out of bed. She knows the sound of my alarm and sleeps under the bed until it goes off... Then I usually get bombarded with lappie kisses regardless of whether I've shown any sign of being awake! She gives the nicest cuddles and despite her high-energy nature, she's always up for a snuggle! 6. Ahsoka is the resident fly-catcher There are never any flies in the house because Ahsoka hunts them down, waits for them to get in reach and takes them out! Mmm tasty! 7. Ahsoka is Miss Wiggle Bum When Ahsoka is happy, she doesn't just wag her tail... She wags her entire back end including her legs!! This trait she received from her 'grandfather', the original Black Wiggle! 8. Ahsoka is a Ninja Thief! She will climb on chairs and tables to try and steal any treats or food she can! She has managed to steal things that I cannot even imagine how she got to them!! The other day I had (stupidly) left some training treats in the middle of the kitchen bench while I was upstairs. A little while later we started hearing Ahsoka whine... 5 minutes later she was still whining, so we went downstairs to find her 'stuck' on a chair next to the kitchen bench!! The treats were gone!!!!!! But poor precious Soaks had decided it was too scary to jump off the chair, so was sprung!!!!!! Her heist was foiled!! But with a little encouragement she eventually jumped off herself. 9. Ahsoka lives up to her nickname, "Soaks" She loves water and as a puppy she would be wet 95% of the time!! She sleeps with her paw in the water bowl, loves swimming and often spends hours outside in the pouring rain!! We always know who the culprit is when our tiles are covered in muddy paw prints!! 10. Ahsoka is a very busy girl! Ahsoka has just recently gained her Australian Championship for conformation and is now training for agility, tracking, flyball, herding and obedience trialling! She's very busy, but she loves it!
  4. not true - even if I was not a DOL person I reckon I'd be able to spot a lappie!!! LOL I do believe she meant that she recognized Zero, Jedi, Ahsoka etc in the lappie picnic video.
  5. Awwww poor Chopper!!!!!! Life's tough!! Great news that he's got his confidence back!! Hopefully he'll just get better from here!
  6. *taps foot while her shaped internet slowwwwwwwwwwly downloads Ruby's video* I'm *slowly* uploading Jedi's video now...
  7. Well I just got back from a trial with Jedi in CCD... He did sooooooo well! Heel 27/30 SFE 10/10 Recall 19/20 And then... In the last half a second of his down stay.... decided he had an itch. *sigh* Literally I was returning around him and he sat up and scratched. Anyone want a keeshond? Oh well, I got some really nice comments from the judge and the other triallers were devastated along with me. But geez it sucks! Oh and congrats to everyone at State in WA!! Edited because I ripped Jedi off by 1 mark. 27 for heel, not 26!
  8. I've been training both of my dogs since they were 8 weeks old... Jedi has just entered the CCD ring and he's 18 months old. Ahsoka will probably start early next year at about the same age (18 months).
  9. Oh no! I hope he gets his confidence back soon!!
  10. Well of course it does back fire when the other dog decides to follow suit and being a little PITA too!! Thankfully that rarely happens!
  11. I do the same. No focus = game over for you and now you get to watch the other dog get attention and food I bring them back and do attention exercises and one simple exercise then we go home.
  12. Depends where you are staying LilBailey... I live near Castle Hill and I haven't started thinking about tick prevention yet for this summer, but some suburbs are more prone than others.
  13. You can pause at any time between exercises. As long as you haven't reached the 'sign' for the next exercise then you can do whatever you like.
  14. Stick another set of jumps and a flyball box in the opposite direction *grin*
  15. It's a great trick isn't it!? Now you need to teach her how to close it!
