M&Dm, did you see the links I posted earlier up? I think the Canon only has 100 not 105 but I'm sure they would be similar.
-
Wow cool, I was just googling!
-
I dont even know what a ring flash is! I just downloaded the book so will have a sqiz tonight.

CC, those shots are amazing! Your lens in the 60mm Tamron yea? I am really looking forward to getting a macro lens and have definatley made up my mind it will be next, Just cant decide which one! I love stuff close up. I really havent got a clue how to use the 17-70 as a macro, am I supposed to get close with the 17mm end or zoom in to the 70mm end, I just had a play with mine the other day to see what worked but its not really close enough, Its supposed to be a macro lens but doesn't take pics like yours above. It can get up close but not super close if that makes sense.

This is what they look like, there was lots of them.

Thanks Snook, I'll see if I can find a copy and have a read. Great shots, thanks for the explanation.

Ok that makes sense so is it something inside the lens that makes it magnify? Kristin, I know you don't like clicking on links but I'd love your input on which one you think would be ok? Tamron SP AF60mm F2 Di II LD (IF) 1:1 Macro Lens Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro USM Lens Canon EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro Lens

Nice Pers! Snook, thanks for the input. Im now wondering what makes a macro lens macro, thats probly a really silly question but I don't understand how it works, obviously the internal workings of the lens. But say I went for the 60mm Macro apart from the 10mm focal length what makes it different than my 50mm?

beautiful shots Huga, number 5 is especially lovely!!
-
Ive narrowed it down to these three? Tamron or Canon or Canon

ewwww, great shot! Thanks for bumping this up. bit of advice, If I wanted to buy a dedicated macro lens, how do I know which one, there is so many! I will pop a couple in here that I took with the 17 - 70 yesterday and be kind because I haven't got a clue what Im doing.

Well I was out and about but didn't have the pups with me, I went to the fletcher jones gardens to practice with my new camera, it's a bit of a learning curve but I'm getting the hang of it ow I'll pop some pics in here tomorrow. When I pulled up at the gardens I discovered another market that I had no idea was there, it was great it had new stuff as well as old stuff. Soon as I walked in there was a display of dog treats so I knew Iwasin a good place. I had a bit of a look around then went into the gardens to take some pics, nothing special as there is not really any flowers out yet, a few irises and some daisys but that's about it. Sounds like you've settled into parenting with ease Tanya, glad all is well.

That's a pretty pricey adaptor. I think it would be hard to hold the lens and take the shot although I guess it would work in reverse, you could hold the lens and let the phone dangle off the end. There's another one called the olloclip! I think it's made by apple, it looks pretty cool too.

They are great shots Jo, certainly tell a story!! That first one is just adorable!!
