Good so far, only snapped a few pics so far, seems a bit sharper but to be honest I haven't really had a good go at the 50mm, the build of the lens is better, I only have the 50mm 1.8 so it is a bit plastic. I popped some pics in the pancake thread that Kirislin started a while ago. It good to be able to be a bit closer to the subject, better for inside too.

Thanks, I think I have been over posting. I just got a Canon 7D and its been a bit of a learning curve, lots to learn and a much heavier bigger camera than the Nikon D80. I think I have figured out today that while I thought I had a reasonably steady hand It appears in a lot of shots I took tonight that I don't, I noticed this as the lights were reflected in the dogs eyes and when I looked at the pics 1.1 I noticed the lights were trailing, not all but some so I know its not the camera its me.

Well I couldn't help myself, I had to order one of these and it came today, talk about shorty 40! It came just before work so I took a few quick snaps then had another play inside after work as it was dark when I got home. cant wait to be able to take it out and have a proper play. This next one is the same photo, the first one is the whole shot and the second one is 100% crop and you can see me in Tully eye. 100% crop

People just don't think before they say things, try not to take it to heart. I always get looks of surprise like you have 4 dogs geez you have your hands full. It drives me insane especially when all 4 dogs are sitting nicely and minding their own business! I have even had that comment from mothers with ferrel children running amuck, I feel like saying "Me with my hands full, you may want to take a look in your own back yard"

Wouldn't you think the owner could have gotten some helpers to go back and get her? He doesn't deserve to get her back! Good on the rescuers.

I wanted to but I was to shy. And the guy in the blue was in deep conversation with him about the whales. I didn't have the heart to disturb them.

Basic Grooming Info For 'oodles'

I'm not sure you will get many comments in here but I'll tell you how I deal with the coats on my four, I quite often get people asking me if their coats are difficult to look after. My guys get bathed once a week if they are really dirty or once a fortnight other wise. They get clipped once every 8 - 10 weeks. I clip them myself and they get everything clipped, feet short (like poodles) except ears, tail and faces left long. I know a lot of people when they clip theirs they clip all of them all over. When clipping I leave their coats about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long. some people I know clip with a 10 blade so very short and they get longer between clips. I think it also depends on the life style you have with your dogs as to how much grooming/clipping etc they need. For me every 8 weeks works especially in Summer, its better if they are shorter for swimming, grass seeds etc. If they were home bodies and didn't go anywhere their coats could be maintained for longer without needing to be clipped but more brushing would be needed in between times to keep knots and matts at bay. They get brushed about twice a week (mainly ears and tails and faces) shortly after clipping and sometimes more once their coats start to get longer with maintenance in between at bath times, (trim up around eyes if need be) Their nails also get clipped every time they get bathed, we do all our exercise on grass so nails don't get worn down naturally. Ears generally need plucking, I am lucky with mine I only have one with hairy ears and then they are not that bad only need doing every couple of months. Not sure if I have covered everything, ask me anything If i have forgotten to mention it, happy to help with any info you need to get your customers on the right track to grooming. I hear people say all the time that Poodle cross coats are a nightmare, I have never found that at all but then again I have always been on top of grooming/clipping/brushing etc. I quite enjoy the time I spend with my lot bathing clipping etc, and they are good dogs and quite enjoy it themselves which makes it so much easier. Another good tip to give owners with any puppy/dog that needs regular grooming as an adult is to get them used to clippers, hair dryers etc, from the time mine were baby puppies they were in the bathroom round the hair dryer and puppies always in the general vicinity when one of the older ones was being clipped. Hope this has helped a bit. edited to add, the brushes I use are the cheap $2 shop ones, not the brush side but the pin side, also a good metal comb for ears and tails. I don't use a slicker on my guys, they all seem to be in some discomfort when I use a slicker so i just stopped and used a regular pin brush. Bad spot for oodles to matt is between the pads of their feet. one of the reason my guys get poodle feet when I clip them. -
Awww thats so cute!

 “And we’re seeing a lot of injuries caused by them trying to force a spare film cartridge into the pocket of already too-tight skinny jeans.”

These ones tell the story of whale watching! Anyone know how big that lens would be? It looks like it has a couple of extenders on it?

A shot from today, I was close, the focal point was right on his face but the image looks a bit soft, not out of focus but just soft all over with no obvious sharp bits if that makes sense. Although when I zoom in on the image on the computer it is still pretty clear. iso 100, f/5.6, 1/100 Then there was this Magpie. I think he looks more in focus. It was the worse kind of day, spiting rain and so overcast, no good light at all. iso 100, f/4, 1/125 Focusing on bigger things seems to be fine.

Cat, mine is a 4s, the biggest thing I noticed going from the 4 to the 4s was the inside photos are sooo much better hardly any noise at all even in lower light, its amazing what a difference 3mp makes. It will be interesting to see where they go with the camera on the iphone 5?? Great excuse for a phone. Well I have a mobile phone but it doesn't take photos :D Great excuse for an upgrade.

I was really surprised by the trampoline shots, I have some better ones somewhere must look for them and post a couple, it just seemed to freeze time. I just downloaded a magazine the other day called iPhone life and the main feature is iPhone photography, this thread might actually motivate me to read it!
