Friends Don't Care If They're Different :)
tlc replied to persephone's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
That's so cute, love seeing dogs and cats together. -
It sounds good, Im scared to do it, they say once you upgrade the firmware you can't go back, what if there is bugs? Am i being paranoid. Hope there is a focus fix  No seriously, is it just as easy as downloading the firmware to the CF card and popping it in the camera? Ill have to go and have a read, there is a you tube on how to do it as well.

Snook they look great, I had a little play with the preset on my G1X and the fisheye effect is nothing like these, and no rounded effect on the outside. Huga, I don't reckon yours looked blurry more like grainy/noisey?? are they the same camera, I know Snooks is a different colour but are they the same camera?

Thats fantastic! You must be so over the moon! What does it mean if the tests are clear that they didn't actually injest the meds or they passed through or were vomitted up?
-
Thanks for the advice, love the Boof shots, the first one is so cute especially, he looks kind of disheveled as if he has just woken up. Really appreciate your advice!

Lovely story, dogs are amazing!

One thing I did want to ask is with the dogs running toward you, do you track them from way back or wait till they get close?
-
Yes it is to me too. I've had a great read of so much stuff and found a few things people have suggested for focus and how to set it up. This one was interesting and this guys page/blog is fantastic, he is a 7d owner and after each section is a questions dn answer thing, seems a lot of people have trouble with the AF, so glad it's not just me. I'm going to change some of my settings and hopefully over the next couple of days get out with the dogs and go nuts!

Fund an interesting article on 7D and the crop factor. HERE it makes it easy to understand. Obviously the guy who wrte it loves his 7D

I do have it, just gotta find time to read some of it. So much to do so little time. it all seemed so much easier with a less complicated camera! Kirislin did warn me!

Snook I meant to add are you seeing a difference to people's photos on your Mac? For the better?
-
Well at least your not looking at them and saying they are completely oof, I was beginning to get paranoid about the camera but I know it's me. Once I can get out and about in better weather and give it a proper test run ill be happy! The waterfall pics were ok and all seemed well focused, ( you may have seen the whole set on FB) and it was an ok kind of day.

You know what I find is funny the pics I snap and don't think about are the best ones. These two I just picked up the camera looked thought he view finder and snap. Where as the ones I try so hard to get right somehow don't turn out as well. I know the others in my last post are probly not as sharp as the last two you mentioned Snook but they are in focus yea?

Yea you are right it has a kind of orangey feel to it, I used the brush in LR which I have only use started doing and could possibly have changed the saturation level on the brushed up bit. I think you might be right about the recovery thing, hopefully once thats finished it will let you use it again.

I think this lot is all pretty clear considering they are all inside with no flash. Did you see the edit I did of your Sister and the doggy?

More practicing for me, one from this morning and some from after work this evening. I can tell with this one the focus is on his nose but I was still pretty happy with it. I think I am slowly figuring out the 7D and the focus issues I have been having.
-
I must look into that I think mine came with the latest firmware upgraded already, but good thought!

Had some good advice this morning and it was very similar to what Snook said in a different thread. Sharpness can also be a matter of different things including camera shake, lighting-exposure-contrast of the scene, and most importantly good or bad choice of glass/LENS. The "bad stuff about the 7D and constantly off focus issues" that are out there on the internet are most likely from people who doesn't understand and know how to use their gear properly. I know all this stuff and need to stop second guessing everything! Sounds like you need to get cracking! You are so right we are our own worst enemies!

 Jo I feel your pain I really do! I have myself totally convinced that there is something wrong with my camera. I have found so much bad stuff on the net about my particular model and now I keep telling myself there is bad stuff about everything! I know its me and I need to practice practice practice but this focus thing has really got me pissed off! Apparently its a well known problem with the 7D even as late as July this year. but the thing I don't understand is if this camera has been out so long then wouldn't all the issues have been ironed out by now and why would they still be making it! So this gives me hope that it is handler error, Ill be happy once I get some constantly sharper images, just wish the weather would pick up so I could be out and about more. Cant wait to try some action with the puppas! Sorry for going seriously off topic.

Lolli, my mum is sick too so i can relate, hope your mum is feeling better soon. I many have over down this pic now that I look at it.

I don't think m-sass, meant that there was a problem with the D7000 only that the 7D takes more continuous bursts for action. If you watch the comparisons between the two cameras the 7D can take more continuous shots in a row with out slowing down. So if you have both side by side and continuously had your finger on the shutter, the 7D would be still going once the D7000 stopped this is one of the things I initially liked about the 7D and was probably the decider, both of them are great cameras!

Do these look like good examples of focus?
