  1. Great shots, Love the first two and the two of Chester are great, would you mind if I had a play with the one of your sister and her dog (the third one down?) I meant to add another thing to try with the dogs is get down low so instead of shooting them from above you are at their level, also its easier said than done if you have velcro dogs like mine!
  2. Well for no editing they are fantastic, use the clarity slider and maybe contrast in LR and they would come out a bit sharper and maybe pop a bit more if thats what your looking for. What sort of camera are you using?
  3. I just got my Sigma 17 - 70mm from dwi and i ordered it on 31st and it was here on 3rd, I was pretty impressed with that!
  4. Well so far it was the 50 mm that i was having trouble with focusing, these ones were all taken with the 17-70, the last one of Bronson was taken with the flash on, I just altered the Wb in post to make it not so flashy. Yes a light on kittys face would have been good but I think what I have down with them has made them look like we were in a fairly dark room, it wasn't it was well lit but I think I just had the settings all wrong. If Colliepaws comes back Im hoping she might share the exif of her kitty shot so i can compare, i took so many on so many different settings I was just lost but he end of it. What do you think of the car one? crap or ok? OH had just washed it and it started to rain, I wanted to take some shots outside but it just wasn't going to happen.
  5. Love em, fantastic shots, looks like you have a fun day!
  6. Might have another crack with the Birman and use the 50mm instead, his face just is not sharp enough, compare it to collie paws shot and they are like chalk and cheese, you can see so much difference.
  7. Cat I think they look great, are you editing at all? What are you using? The second one maybe could have been sharpened or a bit more clarity, but serisouly I think they look great, I find like Huga said they do lose something after you upload then pop them here. Huga, Snow white is great! I had a play to day to, inspired by collie paws kitty shots I did some kitty portraits and what a disaster, I decided to try inside with the light on, no flash and just rely in the iso and m settings, well they were all to dark and with some editing I saved some that I think look ok, The Birman boy was hard, with his black face and ears and white surroundings, yet the other day when i was just snapping away not thinking about it i got some quite good ones of him. Anyway heres some Baileys face is no where near as sharp as I wanted it to be, I think the settings were just all wrong!
  8. I haven't heard of them either, I noticed theo there day on one of those sites, either dwi or eglobal they actually have fix it people in OZ so if your lens camera or what ever you buy goings bung you can sent it to somewhere in Australia to get it fixed. I hope I've got that right and didn't dream it!
  9. OMG thanks so much, thats exactly what I am looking for!
  10. I hope your boys are ok LMS, thinking of you!
  11. Love the blacks and white.
  12. It certainly tells a story. I know it well.
  13. Great that your OH had a go, mine won't touch mine but he did come out and about with me yesterday while I had a good go. I have no idea how to actually use the 17-70 as a macro lens. first need something marcoish to shoot!
  14. You have inspired me to try to get Bailey on a black back ground, it shows their feature so perfectly! It's amazing how similar the ragdolls and the Birmans are.
  15. No worries, thanks for looking. I'll keep an eye out they might come out again.
  16. Sas that would be great. Piper, I thought if I installed that particular one on the seats it might just come loose as it occasionally came lose even when it was tight as in the back section. I'll have to have a chat to my OH about the proper one. I didn't realize it was easy to get in and out.
  17. This one isn't really about focus but it didn't really suit the other thread so Ill pop it here, just another one I liked from today.
  18. Aaa thats so sweet, its nice when they all get along fabulously, Bailey never gets his claws out either and I think thats why the dogs think they can play so rough with him, where as Holly when the dogs were young, she let them know very early on she was the queen of the Manor and they always respected her for that, she put each dog as they came in their place and they always knew their place with her, she was already 14 when Cooper came along so fair enough.
  19. Yes I did, I am so not familiar with macro, does that mean I can get up close with the wide end or do I zoom into the subject? I have found if I zoom to close the camera will not take the shot but If I back up just a bit it will focus and shoot? enlighten me please. Don't want to buy another lens If I don't need too.
  20. Not sure if this is photo journalism but he could be a photo journalist.
  21. Ive got one of theses cheap ones but it won't reach all the way to the floor behind the front seats. I also have a full proper cargo barrier from my old wagon which would fit but I wanted something easier to take out in case I need to have people in the back, so I didn't want it as a permanent arrangement. The one in my first link goes to the floor and the roof but looks like it only kind of quarter as big as the full ones. I assume they go in like the cheap ones, easy to put in and out.
  22. Oh So sorry, Rip beautiful Boy!
  23. Ok, don't worry about settings, I just wondered if you were using auto mode or one of the manual modes?
