  1. I still see a few links and pictures about them Oh crap my eyes are failing me, I swore I couldn't see any just before I have been blocked from posting....geez just coz I asked :would I get a tax invoice if I donated. I have been blocked too.
  2. This is what makes it hard, even contacting them results in no response. So we are left standing here in a group scratching our heads trying to figure out what indeed is going on.
  3. Has any rescue group on here received a contact from PR regarding foster caring? Since they now claim they simply source foster carers and hand them onto other rescue groups.
  4. I have been msging on facebook with some of their volunteers and they are genuinely nice and caring people. I feel so sorry that they are being manipulated and lied to.
  5. I think you are referring to the comment I made on their page (I am Merryn). All my comments get deleted, but I like to think that a few people at least had the chance to read them before they are gone. :) The pound (afaik) don't test the dogs themselves, the only reason they would state if it is DA or HA is if it came in with that reason attached to it. This is why a reputable rescue knows it is so important to test the dog themselves!
  6. I know that and I know you do right by the dogs, but I was just saying that we can't crucify them for fostering the dog, it is what happens after the incident that's the issue. Like advertising it and not disclosing it's history. But if the rescue group had done a behavioural assessment prior to sending this dog into foster care, possibly the DA might have been picked up? Personally when I temp test at HP I have a dog in the run next to it and when walk it past the other dog cages (and sometimes cats) and if the dog is highly reactive I would be weary about sending it straight into a foster home (especially an inexperienced one).
  7. Good lord I had a brain fart. Serves me right for reading half asleep before breakfast
  8. When people say 16d, do you mean 17c? Or does holding a 16d mean something else now?
  9. Wow. Just wow. I'm going to put in some emoticons because I can't think of words right now. And a for kizzyneo. I would be absolutely fuming if I was in your position. Steve's offer for the MDBA course is an excellent way to skill up and be a knowledgeable foster carer. And, as T mentioned, the foster manual can help you along your way. PM me your postal address and I will pop one in the mail for you. :)
  10. I wouldn't need to disclose simply because I would not taken on and rehome a dog that had serious issues such as these. If you adopt from a reputable rescuer you are likely to have a sound dog.
  11. Another rescue group making it harder for us ethical rescuers to keep up good appearances. ETA: Sometimes it is hard to known if the previous owner is telling the truth regarding the history, but this highlights why it is so important for temperament assessments to be done AFTER the settling in period.
  12. No, they recommended I stick with the Holistic Select giant/large breed puppy food. So who mentioned Chum? You might as well feed the dog dirt mixed with water!
  13. MM I didn't mean to imply that, was just making a side comment :)
  14. I laugh when people comment on how much money we must make in rescue. Or the "oh I have a dog you can rehome!" Yeah thanks buddy!
  15. Not sure about Coles/Woolies and biodegradable bags. Normally it is something that is printed all over the product so people feel sure about themselves when spending 3 times the price of other poo bags
  16. I wouldn't imagine two blind dogs together are any different that two seeing eye dogs? As long as they are treated no differently compared to if they weren't blind (within reason). My boy that has gone blind now acts no differently around my girl who still has her sight. Their interaction regarding sight means nothing in the scheme of things. Curious to read others experiences.
  17. No I wouldn't think so because it is still cheaper than a pet store or breeder... but that is where BYB's come in. Can get a mutt pretty cheap from the local paper. ETA to expand: People think they are getting a dog with "issues" when adopting from the pound, but from a pet store you are getting a "quality sound pup". $180 now makes more sense Muttrus, sorry I must have misread your post :)
  18. $180 for vaccination? I've not heard of that. I know Renbury and Hawkesbury vacc anyway, I don't believe the price is passed on when the dog is sold. The rego and microchip are a non neg and nothing to do with the pound itself but NSW law. If you had him desexed and went back with the certificate pounds usually give a refund of the difference for sale price and rego.
