  1. I met my fiance completely randomly over the internet, turns out I know his ex through DOL Sure is six-degrees!
  2. Can I add some? Cordelia (Jacq) who was there for me when I was really down in the dumps a few years back and she slapped me back into reality (not literally  but I needed to hear the truth ) ILTBY who got me keen on photography and even bought me a cute macros lens to get me started All the rescue DOLers who I have made such GREAT friends with. I have learnt a lot from many of these people and continue to do so. The support I was given when writing my books was amazing! Steve you've inspired me to do what I think I can do, but lack the confidence. What you said about me at the MDBA awards was delightful and my mother was gleaming
  3. "Dog First Aid Kits can either be purchased or made at home. If you are making one, you’ll need a durable, waterproof/water-resistant container that opens and closes easily yet securely. Print out and tape to the container the phone number for your vet, your rescue vet, the closest emergency animal hospital and poison control hot lines. Also list your own name, address and phone numbers. It should be large enough to hold the items mentioned below. • Animal general first aid book • Blunt nosed scissors • Tweezers • Disposable rubber gloves • Towel • Blanket • Sterile gauze pads • Adhesive first aid tape (narrow and wide widths) • Rolled cotton • Bandages (including self-clinging or vet wrap and waterproof types) • Anti-bacterial wipes or pads • Hot/cold pack • Betadine solution • Antibiotic ointment • Paw paw ointment • Sterile saline eye solution • Styptic powder • Gentle natural pet sedative i.e. Rescue Remedy • Adjustable muzzle • Slip leash. A smaller version of the above is handy to have in your car as well as: • Bottled water • Bowl or other container to use as a water bowl • Spare leash." From my book.
  4. WOW! That is nicer than most pet owner houses
  5. Yep no problem!! It's not due until October. It keeps getting bigger and more complex. I have majority of data collected from pounds and DLG. I love doing it for my own interest anyway. Might PM you and can email u lit review/proposal and different things. :) Awesome :D I'll keep the on you to get it finished in time
  6. Fantastic!!! I'd love to see your honour thesis too :D
  7. These are great thanks!!! Keep em coming! Not that I am building a pound or anything, just collecting some ideas :D
  8. Can you elaborate? How would they fit this in for dogs only held a maximum of 14 days?
  9. Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear, enjoy your night with her tonight and try not dwell to much on things. I have no words but ones of comfort and this
  10. In your opinion and in a perfect world, what would the perfect council operated and funded pound facility do or not do?
  11. Fantastic! I can't wait till I have my own house and can help out Pacers :)
  12. Oh crap. I was hoping to hear she was doing better, but what a horrible thing to do to a kitten :mad You gave her love in her final moments. From the sounds of it she never truly had love in her life, at least she died knowing what love is. I would also report this to the local police when you feel up to it. They may have had similar reports in the area and need more cases before they can pursue (or something)
  13. Bless her little cotton socks, and yours too! Good luck today xx
  14. These guys? http://seniordogs.webs.com/ Contact details: Mail: PO Box 3026 Marrickville Metro 2204. Email : [email protected]
  15. Feed the whole egg. Sorry that was me above.
  16. Another Natures Gift fan here. My guys do well on it. Normally I prefer to feed a barf diet but my current living conditions do not permit, so Natures Gift it is!
  17. Under a year apart. I have two bloody ageing dogs!! The vet bills just get higher and higher  So worried about them dying at similar times, even with their massive size difference (4kgs and 25kgs) ETA: Sweep turned 9yrs in March and Hazel turns 10yrs in July.
  18. You could alternate days with the Trigene/F10 and regular disinfectant. Might make it a bit cheaper  Like you said, the risk is not as high, but it is still there (depending on the clients you accept -- I'm assuming you're talking about regular pet owners). OT but I love the smell of Trigene
  19. Trigene is tops but the company only deals with minimum amounts (can't remember the amount sorry). F10 is my next choice after. I wouldn't consider bleach suitable and it will oxidise metal. Another thing with chemicals to consider is the OH&S risks and I would consider bleach to be a higher risk that Trigene or F10.
  20. You are asking for quite specific information, and as somebody said, each vet clinic may do things slightly differently, so searching for the information might prove pointless since I can't imagine a vet clinic posting that type of info on their website. Have you tried http://scholar.google.com.au/ ?. I would suggest calling a vet clinic or going into your local clinic (or regular if you have one) and asking the questions. I would also think that to prove a more reliable reference than somebody on the internet. Which TAFE are you at? if you don't mind me asking.
  21. I'd throw the 10 pieces back over the fence tomorrow
  22. I have found a chicken neck under my bed but not in my bed thank goodness lol I have had plenty of bones "buried" in my bed. Super fun to find at 3am when I roll onto something painful!
