  1. Yes that is correct Sheridan (well, that is what BP have informed us.) Thanks T :) If the owner does not come forward and the first person on the list decides not to take him, Glemhaith will be, however I am going to be picking him up asap from the pound as I live much closer than Glenhaith and he will stay with me for however long need be :)
  2. I got a call from Blacktown whilst I was at work. Yes this is the case, they have located owner details and sent a letter. His name is Bobby and he is 4 years old. Meanwhile he has to sit tight for another 2 weeks or until they hear from his owner. I confirmed my name on the list and it still remains on the EOI list to purchase.
  3. I live 20 mins from the pound and thought we had it sorted but somehow, somebody got in front of us. Sorry if it is not to every bodies liking; any member of the public was welcome to put an EOI in at any point in time.
  4. Shouldn't the pound reinstate your original EOI then? No because I only put my name down as rescue Therefore I get bumped off. I did speak to the same staff member who did remember me visiting me last time and he processed my EOI, so fingers crossed if they decide to skip some names they do sensibly! :p
  5. So did we guys The pound took my name off without notifying me and apparently an EOI went in the same night glemhaith put hers in (and apparently is second) and another one after, which I discovered today and why I put in an EOI while I was there. Glemhaith was doing her best to track down the breeder and in the meantime (1 day) my name was removed
  6. I put an EOI on this boy today and I am 4th on the list.
  7. I've only got one dog on PR but since the new launch I have not had a single enquiry. Prior to that he had 3 enquiries (which didn't work out). He is currently on trial at a new home which was through word of mouth.
  8. The staff did know know his name An EOI will be going through for him from a Skye breeder I've been in close contact with. Either way, whether under adoption through the breeder or through our rescue group he will come to me and his rehoming will be done between myself and Skye breeders :)
  9. He was actually really playful when he came out of the kennel, but he quickly quietened down and had this sad face. He wasn't interested in me through the wire of his pen and only got up and said hello after joining in on a barking choir.
  10. Thanks for getting in touch with me today glemhaith. I ended up going to the pound this afternoon just to meet this boy and he is so adorable! I sat on the ground with him and he sat with me, leaning on me getting pats. I have attached a quick photo I took with my phone. He is somewhat matted but won't require shaving. The pound staff scissored around his face already. He is desexed and wearing a collar with "National Pet Register" tag attached. Judging by his teeth he does appear around 1 - 2 years old as per his impound details.
  11. Yes I will def post about it on DOL if he comes to me and would be happy for breeders/Skye savvy people to assist in the rehoming :)
  12. My name is on this dog as rescue back up. He is microchipped so there is a chance he will go home. I will keep everybody posted on the outcome :)
  13. The Blacktown Pound website is down and I can't check if this boy has been tagged with rescue or not. Anybody know?
  14. Haven't heard of it, but I am interested to see how you go. Nothing works to completely solve my boys itchy skin
  15. Hawkesbury publically stated on the 20th Sept: Hawkesbury City Council recently resolved to introduce compulsory desexing of all animals prior to them being rehomed from the Animal Shelter. This means that ALL animals SOLD from the Shelter will be desexed before the new owner collects the animal. At the moment we are hoping to have the programme commence at the beginning of November. We are in the final stages of consulting with the Vets involved in the programme.
  16. I know plenty of breed specific rescues and it doesn't matter if they are papered or where they came from, as long as they fit the breed description.
  17. ^^ what they all said. I have a few "rarer" breeds on my bucket list and then I wonder how I will ever own them unless they turn up in rescue, and then I think, no I really should have the breeds I want to own (no offence to the crosses!) it's a hard decision, but you'll end up still doing rescue one way or another, it's in your heart, maybe just on a smaller scale :)
  18. Nope. They placed an unknown dog into a home with a cat not so long ago all the way down to VIC. Thankfully I tracked down the new owner and she has an idea of how Greyhounds can be and has taken steps very carefully with her cat (and appears to be cat safe). Shear luck IMO.
  19. Arcane: tops method :D I often hear the "I want the kids to witness the magic of birth". I like to reply "what if the puppies are born dead or don't survive? Or if the mother dies during whelping due to complications? Kinda traumatic for the kids huh?" I love watching their face drop
  20. Good job! Mine rang me at work today to tell me there is a stray dog running down the road and what should he do!
