Yep leash free parks can be very dangerous places for dogs. It's quite common for dog attacks to happen in leash free parks. Sorry to read about your dogs injury, hoping for a speedy recovery.

I dont know why people do it either, the dogs are just fine going for a jog or hike whilst on lead, they don't care, they still enjoy themselves and get exercise. It would certainly be less stressful too.

I'm an educated, responsible dog owner and this is my opinion on the subject: I like bull breed people and am appalled at the whole BSL drama. I refuse to get caught up in it, but it makes me so angry that some people think it's okay to manipulate other dog owners into supporting the misery of Breed Discrimination and emotional blackmail. I am aware and know what BSL and the Sisyphean battle that a variety of bull breeds and there owners face, have faced, each and every day for the last 23 years in this Country. I want to know about it/them, and whilst being a martyr for that cause is not how I'm going to express myself as a dog owner. That's my choice. But I choose to support those that do. So if that's what I really think, imagine what the average numpty dog owner might think? Probably a thousand times worse than I do. If you expect other dog owners to help you. Know many of us have, will, and do, because we understand what it's all about and have foresight.

Any guesses to which breeds and types they might add? In Qld before 2005 I think it was, a few Qld councils had dobes and rhodesian ridgebacks bull terriers and such declared as dangerous breeds.

Wondering if people have to take 3d photos and biometrics of dogs now to compare 'The Model' surely if it doesn't match the model 'exactly' then no grounds to restrict? They make good photos anyway.

A 3D generated model using the standards they produced. They could have gone the whole hog and stuck flaming eyeballs and a devil horns on it. It's to ridiculous for words.

They have unfortunately for them taken onboard bad advise, the cost of enforcement outweighs receivership, this is the council who charges ratepayers in the bush, places like Glenwood at the arse end of it with no council service other than a wheelie bin the same as ratepayers in Herveybay with all its facilities. You can get little solar powered car auto cools, I have one up here now best thing I have ever bought for my car. Before, sometimes when I opened the car door the heat blast coming out was like a furnace. I reckon I could have left a frozen chook in the car and come back to a roast dinner!
