You should have bitten the owner if you wanted to bite someone, rather than traumatise the poodle further. Trust me, that poodle was NOT traumatised when it bit me... it may have been AFTER I bit it back, but it deserved it - nasty thing that it was, biting people for no reason.Bloody thing had drawn blood too... it was a bite, not a nip that it gave me, and I wasn't trying to interact with it at all. T.

It makes you wonder when the vets are offering to desex during a c-section though... T.

My Rotti girl gained 15kgs for her 11 pups... and they were all around 450g each at birth... which was a nice size I reckon. she was so big near the end that she couldn't reach to lick/scratch between her enormous udders, so we taught her a new trick "show us yer tits", where she'd roll on her back to show her boobies, and then we'd scratch between them for her... lol! I didn't weigh my Lab before she dropped her 10 500g pups.. but she was HUGE! And udders that would have put Dolly Parton to shame to boot! T.

If you don't mind her going 2 days over, then the babies can share my Pickles' birthday... *grin* ZsaZsa Bitch Vizsla would only eat loin of veal in milk. That litter produced 12 fat, healthy babies too. Yeah - they seem to know what will produce big fat babies, don't they? T.

When's the approximate due date Allerzeit? The last time I had a pregnant Rotti was back in 1995... she blew out from 36kg to 51kg, and gave me 11 big babies on Christmas Day... so much for me relaxing and enjoying myself... spent the afternoon/evening up to my eyeballs in dog afterbirth... *sigh*... she was a complete bitch about food while pregnant too - would only eat lean beef (no fat at all) smothered in milk... T.

I bit a poodle once... but it had bitten me first! It's owner thought that biting strangers was acceptable behaviour from his unleashed dog... he soon learned to leash his dog to "protect" it from strangers that bite back... lol! T.

Don't panic, if you've raised a litter of 8 or more, double digit litters aren't really that much more work... lol! The worst part is making sure the smaller ones (if any) get on boobie first... oh, and when they get bigger, cleaning up the poopies! Apart from that stuff - think of how much puppy breath you can get with a double digit litter... heaven! T.

Dogs can be contagious for up to 14 days prior to symptoms appearing... and for up to 14 days AFTER the symptoms have gone. Incubation can be as little as 2 days though... T.

I have my 100-400 on a crop sensored body... I can get around 640mm from it... *grin* T.

I'm telling you, there are more than 10 in there! T.

I use a growly "aarrgghh" with my girls... or "leave it!" in a deep growly voice. I'd never try to alpha roll a strange dog... that would just be stupid IMHO. I knew my boy well, and knew he wasn't likely to bite me no matter what I did - but he needed to be stopped from being the pushy and obnoxious turd he was being at the time and nothing else was working... funnily enough, it must have been exactly what he needed in order to learn that mummy wasn't going to put up with his crap... I flipped him over and growled in his face, then let him go, that's it - pretty much the same way my girls did with obnoxious foster pups. T.

Hopefully the footage will be given to police to follow up on the incident... rather than just being uploaded to YouTube... T.

My Lab was in labour for nearly 24 hours before she started pushing out babies... of course she started doing that about 10 minutes AFTER the vet closed. She had no difficulties and I had all of the vets on standby just in case anyways... Relax and let nature take it's course... T.

I have news for you perse... it ain't the camera that makes the photo... it's the inner beauty of the person holding it and knowing where and how to point it to share that beauty with others... Love yer work girlfriend! T.

Bark Busters actually have some sort of copyright on the "bah" thing... looks like they've been involved at some point if the owners are using it on their dog. As for the alpha roll - they probably think Cesar Milan is some sort of dog training god too... *sigh* I alpha rolled one of my Rotti boys once - he was being a complete dick and wouldn't back down. I only ever did it once, and only for a second or two so he got the point that I was actually bigger and stronger than him and could take care of myself. He was young and obnoxious and pushing all limits - but he only needed to be shown once who was the boss... and it was in my own back yard, not out in a public place. T.

I hope whoever has him will keep him contained - and on leash when out. If they are in my brother's area and my brother's assistance dog gets rushed, Hugo won't last long, I can tell you! T.

I kinda cheated with my photos - the birds are in cages, and I was using a 100-400mm lens to get the head shots... I have some shots of Dixie the Whistling Kite in full flight at the Taronga Bird Show though... she can reach speeds of around 60kmh, and they were taken hand held... Dixie the Whistling Kite... hand held - straight out of camera, no cropping... T.

Guess who's had Bark Busters in... *sigh* The last time I saw someone alpha roll their dog, I asked them if they'd like to try it on my Rotti/Pittie girl - with the warning that she'd tear them a new one if they tried it... they declined the offer, and stopped doing it to their own dog while I was there at least. T.

$5 is a bargain for one of your photos Kirislin... With my zoo photos, I'm happy to give them to the zoos - but they have to credit me on anything they publish to social media. I get plenty of other perks like behind the scenes stuff and exotic animal cuddles, so I'm happy with the "arrangement"... *grin* T.

I usually try the friendly approach first... start chatting about their dog and how friendly it is and such, then kind of start generally talking about the condition of the coat or whatever, and what they could try to make it more comfortable for the dog... If I see someone actually physically abusing their dog, I'm not usually quite as friendly about it... T.
