  1. That first link has it in Melbourne... great fact checking... NOT!! The 3rd link has got some VERY spurious stuff added to embellish... *sigh* I have all of the ACTUAL facts regarding everything alluded to in those stories... and what's been reported is so far from the truth it ain't funny! What I'd really like is the name of the Telegraph reporter that posted the first story on this that all the others have copied and embellished... T.
  2. You have been more than kind already @crazydoglady99... Trubs loves you for that... She's currently peacefully napping at my feet under the computer desk... probably dreaming about a certain type of treat... hehe! T.
  3. As the title says, does anyone here have a subscription to the Daily Telegraph? I don't want to buy a subscription to view a single article, and would really like screenshots or a copy/paste of the text and photos used. Including the reporter's name if possible. The article is here... https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/petting-zoo-fined-after-dead-goat-found-at-childrens-birthday-party/news-story/2a9df22e4810d3a6b4f7fa062d731a64 The copycat story at the Daily Mail UK site does not have any comment (or inkling that one was sought) from the business in question... T.
  4. Trubs saw her boyfriend (the vet) on Wednesday... and we are approaching the pointy end of our journey. We are now having fortnightly vet visits to check her progress. Her tumour is bigger than a grapefruit on the left side, and nearly the size of an apple on the right, with a bridge about the width of a finger between the two across her trachea. The visible tumour on the back of her tongue doesn't seem to be growing much at all. Some days now are a bit scary with her breathing hard and having difficulty finding a sleeping position that doesn't press on the tumours. She has adjusted her normal resting position to rest her chin on a paw to keep pressure off, but sometimes she insists on trying different positions, and that's when she has issues. She is snoring a lot more, and dribbling lots when she sleeps - at least her good position means she can't inavertently inhale the drool... The good side is that the tumour isn't affecting her oesophagus, so she can still eat anything and everything just fine... which is the most important thing if you are a Labrador, right? She is a bit fat, and the vet has told her she needs to lose some weight... errr! So we have to make up some of her feed volume with vegetables... we tried carrots the other night... and the naughty girl refused to eat them... looks like I'm going to have to get more creative... *sigh* T.
  5. " Veganism is the new moral baseline and if you're the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals you should be advocating a vegan lifestyle not mandating slaughter. " OMG! Are these people for real? Fun that they are targetting the RSPCA and getting media coverage about it though... not that the lunatic fringe are going to be taken all that seriously... *sigh* T.
  6. A lot of cat food also has a higher salt content than dog food... so I wouldn't feed it regularly... T.
  7. The kennel opening/door needs to be facing where you enter and leave the house... so the dog can see if/when you come out... T.
  8. Loving how healthy the wild older pup is looking... and Midge is SOOOO pretty! Pity the family can't catch some of the mums and get them desexed... but then again, those girls would be pretty smart about getting caught by now... *sigh* T.
  9. She's prime for mating right now... so is pining to go make some new male friends... give it another week at least, OK? T.
  10. This is definitely true... mainly due to the incredible PR juggernaut that the RSPCA employs... Thousands of people have horror stories to tell, but the reprisals if one speaks out publicly can be nasty. There are grounds for a class action case against the RSPCA, but try finding one person who will stand up and add their name to one... T.
  11. Yep... and if you get the really cool long stringy ones, they require special stuff from the vet... and it's expensive! A lot of the all-in-one wormers actually don't cover tapeworm... so check the package to make sure they are covered by whichever one you are using, OK? T.
  12. Neko wins.... look at those eyes! How could anyone resist? LOL! T.
  13. FIVE years!?!? Time flies, doesn't it? Still remember how excited we all were waiting for each update about this precious little family of iggies... T.
  14. And do they think they are charging you for it... seeing as it happened on their premises... in their care, no less? T.
  15. Huskies are known escape artists... so if she is prone to escaping, maybe you could look at making a secure run for her in your yard where she can be contained when you aren't supervising her... If that seems like too much trouble, then maybe you should rehome her, and tell prospective new owners why you are doing so... so they can make sure she is secured when not supervised. T.
  16. Yep... Labradors... so smart, yet so clueless... lol! T.
  17. I second this... front up there today and demand that he be seen and treated now. And you aren't paying a cent as he was injured whilst in their care... T.
  18. I took a look at 5:45am when I got out of bed... nothing too flash happening by then... but kinda pretty. Not exciting enough for me to pull the camera out for though... T.
  19. We're doing ok with keeping infection at bay so far @crazydoglady99... and Trubs is a Labrador - she will eat anything... lol! I've been bringing home duck eggs from work lately... and they are her most fave thing at the moment... but we are limiting to one every other day, as I don't want to have to invest in a gas mask... hehe! She eats them shell and all... yum! T.
  20. Poor muffin was scratching an itch on her neck yesterday and the pressure made her gag... but 30 minutes later she scoffed her dinner down like nothing was wrong... The tumour appears to be affecting her trachea more than her oesophagus... and she now only sleeps on her right side because the tumour on the left is about the size of a grapefruit and it's uncomfortable to lie on. It doesn't appear to hurt her at all, just gets in the way. It has migrated over to the right, but that side is only about the size of a ping pong ball so far. Pickles has become so protective of Trubs that she has taken to shadowing her everywhere... but gets a bit bossy at times... especially if Trubs lies down somewhere that Pickles can't lie next to her... lol! As for the treats... Trubs shared some with a friend's dog, and now her owner is ordering them regularly... and they even have made her a special run of the Turkey Sprinkles as her dog loves them so much. Now, that's AWESOME customer service! T.
  21. Trubs had her monthly checkup last week... tumour still getting bigger, but she's still oblivious and eating fine... We keep on keeping on... *grin* She sends her best dribbly kisses to her fav Aunty @crazydoglady99 T.
  22. Yes... very strange happenings there... the page has been recently created and is being updated by someone named Shannon... who appears to be affiliated with some driving school in Liverpool... ??? But the registrant for the url is Eve from ARC... Bizarre... T.
  23. Does anyone know of a rescue org by the name of "Animal Rescue and Care" in SA... or someone by the name of Eve Hadi? It appears that this person is legit, with ABN and ACNC entries valid... but there's something a bit shonky going on with a website address that was for a NSW rescue that doesn't exist any more - and Eve Hadi is the listed website registrant currently. Ta... T.
  24. The ones that take a piece of our soul when they go... it hurts forever... but the love also shines forever, so the pain is bearable... Massive hugs Rach... it's been 14 years for me and my beloved Woosie... T.
