  1. Great news. Don't be complacent about her food though, small meals often for the next few weeks. Her outside will be looking better than her inside.
  2. garfish (minus heads), whole raw sardines, raw salmon. Yummy.
  3. That is what I use, and the long life if they don't have it.
  4. So sorry for both your losses, as hard as it is to lose an oldie, the loss of one so young must be just as difficult and more.
  5. I did feed once a day but now feed twice. Dogs are much happier and don't inhale their food.
  6. This would necessitate rain. I live in one of the most arid areas I have ever lived in.
  7. I live very close to the water supply which means, due to low storage levels etc, I am getting extremely chlorinated water. It stinks. I usually fill up the buckets and the dogs self regulate and drink out of the bucket that has been out longest as opposed to the freshest water. Is there any other way to safely de-chlorinate water for drinking?
  8. I made way too much offal and vege mix for my BARF about 5 weeks ago. I froze it that same day. Is it still ok to use?
  9. I am so sorry for your losses, your pain is unimaginable. RIP to all the horses, dogs, cats, cattle, wildlife, sheep, and other animals that have been taken by these deadly fires.
  10. You asked for advice and got an answer you didn't like - your problem, not their's. There has been a gastro going around - I would take dogs off raw meat whilst they are ill as they will not be able to tolerate the bacteria as well as normal. Don't like the vet? Find a new one. All this they eat "blah blah" is the wild is tripe. It's been a long time since dogs were wild. If you want to argue the case at least do so intelligently. Raw food is good because of the composition of the food itself. The nutrients, the physical structure, etc. My vet also doesn't particularly agree with raw but what she doesn't know about food could fill a large book. I say to her I'm feeding such and such and she has no clue as it's not Hills or Advance. That's fine, when it comes to food I don't mind being the expert, when it comes to saving my dogs life I expect her to be the expert. I feed a mixed diet as it works for my dogs. Feed what works. Don't sweat the small stuff, it isn't worth it.
  11. Don't know. Have passed all info onto her and she will make a decision after talking to people. Thanks for the info.
  12. Have passed all info on, will let her make her own decisions. Thanks
  13. I have a friend in Melbourne who is just about ready to put her dog down. She has tried everything she can think of and just cannot regulate his behaviour. Are there any trainers who specialise in dealing with erratic and destructive behaviour in dogs? This is a fence jumping, destructive, self harming, lost cause scenario Please PM me if you know someone who can help. A regular dog trainer that has dabbled in behaviour will not be enough, this dog has some major issues that may or may not be able to be adjusted. If anyone knows anyone who would be willing to help these people please contact me.
  14. In the US it's about the third of the cost of having the joint replaced so perhaps the price will fall here?
  15. Did anyone see this on the news? Apparently they take stem cells out of the fat cells of a dog and then re-implant them into the affected joints. $6K a pop.
  16. So Sorry to hear this. RIP Ziggy
  17. RIP and let's hope they learned a lesson. Some people don't deserve dogs.
  18. RIP Sophie. You've been amazing Anne.
  19. You've done above and beyond Anne. You know where to contact me when you need me.
