That might work if you owned a retriever

I'm a programmer also and have finally scammed my way into being allowed to work from home one day a week (Friday being the bonus!!) But I find the connection awfully slow

I bought a "few things" yesterday at Coles and walked out $70 lighter! My house and car insurance is due in April, bugger! Getting a new house and new car at the same time was not the most thought out plan Congrats!!!!! New puppy here you come

I got that email too but to me it appeared it was only valid on the small bags? If it's on the 15kg bags I'll be heading in, but if it's only for up to 3kg it isn't worth my while Actually you might be right about the sizes but even so, 5 x 3kg bags works out pretty good value Yeah I guess so when you buy a few

He is actually "easy" to handle but gets bored in the ring and doesn't like pricking his ears forward for the judge :D This has lost him wins on several occasions. Mum learnt to handle with him as it didn't matter if she stuffed up (which she would do from nerves) coz it wouldn't make any difference to Boots :D So the reason he frustrates more experienced handlers is coz he likes ignoring the handlers attempts to get him excited and yawn in the judge's face ;) Mum has only started getting frustrated with him after about 2 years of learning. ETA: I am fairly sure it is the Games night he is entered in. I only entered Banjo in the show on the Agility night. So what breed are we talking? (sorry whitka for the hijack!)

RS, we have several show dogs available to teach you how to show ;) You can even show one at the Classic if you want (cause he is frustrating to those who know what to do ROFL) That actually sounds quite worrying, if experienced handlers are frustrated then I would well and truly not be cut out for the job! :D I'm free on the agility games night of the Classic so if you want a hand then and can show me what to do I'll make myself available ;) I'm entered the other 3 nights which is stressful enough so don't want to take on a new activity when my mind is elsewhere!

I think I'd like to do the same, handle some other people's dog in preparation for the day I get my own. Not sure whose dogs I could handle though, don't know many DOL showies in Perth (and who would be happy to hand over a dog!!) ;)

I had a glass of champagne before my last obedience trial, and I don't normally drink the stuff. Not sure if it actually helped or not, but I forced myself to relax a bit and have fun! It paid off But I find it terribly hard to do with Ruby these days for some reason! I get wound up in knots trialling her in obedience

And YOU missed out on the yummy Mars and Snickers cookies I bought by not coming over the join the partay! We joined after you had left I can take a hint I assumed she missed out because she didn't mention my cookies! But I guess they weren't mind anymore when I left Had to go up to the office to hand my obedience entry in, it was the closing date so nothing like leaving it to the last minute

Agility Training Talk Thread

My dogwalk-phobic dog did the full sized dogwalk tonight and with a fair amount of confidence Well done, Ruby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did it twice then quit while we were ahead, and I'll try again another night She's weird in that the more times you do it, the more the confidence takes a hit! I hope it's finally on the mend (for the 2nd or 3rd time ) and wasn't just a one off! But no doubt it will eventually go again, it's just proving to be the cycle with her! -
I'm thinking of trying some for the first time at the Western Classic to see if it will help me!!

I think the sit stay fairy went and stole Soggy's and Millie's at the same time, and me thinks it did it while our backs were turned, literally! Because we've lost ours, too.

I'm only heading into my 5th year and I'm pretty sure I'm older than you I still feel old, though
-
I think that's to be expected when in a beginner's class, good to see people taking their puppies along for training! Glad it went well Maybe do some tricks or something with Hemi in between, or maybe take along a crate and crate him while a lot of the talking happens. Saves him waiting around getting bored

Long shot I know, but my TAFE class requires us to have a "greenie" (those shirts that vet nurses wear and nurses, etc). I was wondering if anyone knows where you can get them cheap or maybe even 2nd hand? I only need to wear it once in a blue moon on class pracs, so I don't want to spend $50 on one from the book shop (and I'm not even sure they sell them anymore, I think the woman who made them has stopped). Anyone here a vet nurse/nurse and can get their hands on any? I need one for Friday for my first prac for the year!

I had always said all my dogs will be from a puppy, I didn't want anyone else's troublesome dogs! But for some reason, in the matter of a few minutes, my mind changed when I saw Millie on the Lab Rescue website. I had wanted to get another Lab puppy (a yellow like Ruby, not a chocolate like Millie) but something told me that she had to come live with me. I enquired about her via email on a Friday after seeing her on the website Thursday night, received a response Friday night that she was still available, then received another email Saturday morning saying that if I am serious about adopting her to call them because they had others coming out to view her that day. I called, we chatted, and the next thing I know we are arranging flights for her to arrive on Tuesday! Less than a week prior I was still in the "puppy only" camp Millie was around 2 when I got her, and has been a joy to have in my life - I can't imagine life without her now. She was barely trained, she only knew sit and it wasn't a consistent one either. She had apparently been chained and muzzled in someone's backyard, along with a male Lab and a dachshund (who had also been surrendered to the pound). But even though her start to life wasn't exactly full of love, she has soooo much love to give and like others have said about other rescues, I think she is so grateful to find a loving home. She was a quick learner, I had her entered in a mock CCD obedience trial 3 months after getting her and was told by the judge she was the best she'd seen that day (the standard for the day must have been really bad, cos she wasn't all that great ) She just loves to be in human company and will do anything for you if it means she gets some human touch and play (which is another thing, she had no idea how to play when I got her!!) She's a gorgeous girl and Ruby and I are lucky to have her in our lives! :D

And now you have morning tea sorted for you with the leftovers I had a great night too Happy with Ruby's work, Millie left a lot to be desired tonight though My two like to keep it interesting by keeping me guessing who is more ready for Open than the other - it changes week to week

Hugs Candice, will be thinking of you on Thursday
