  1. Good boy Paddy!!! ;) Rach, unless your friend makes you believe he may be neglectful, there doesn't seem anything that I would discourage them for with getting a dog. You said they will exercise it heaps and he has already asked about training, and a dog might be a good thing for a household of young boys, might teach them a bit of responsibility ;)
  2. I'm impressed you have that many bikes!! And good boy Toby! :D
  3. Woohoo!!!!!! I am scared to teach this... mine just don't get the concept of taking direction!
  4. Come on - He was the happiest I have ever seen him and you managed to do a bit before the other dogs arrived. I saw a happy Toby, too. Sorry if the arrival of my dogs put him off RV Gotta say I'm happy with Ruby, she didn't run off to greet anyone while working last night, which is big for her Edit: but the temptation was low, we worked with a fair bit of space around us. She did think about returning the dummy to Ptolomy but a quick reminder I was who she needed to bring it to saw her change her path and deliver nicely
  5. Please leave the chocolate at home! omg just realised, it will be torture for me Thursday nights with all the cake!!
  6. Aww come on it can't have been that bad! Plus you had awesome company. Surprisingly, I had a good night training! My blondie who has started to lack enthusiasm lately was full of beans tonight wanting to work! Got some good stuff out of her (except that blasted SFE ) Millie came out firing, gave everything 110%! The sit signal in COP just dropped out of her head for a moment and I have a bit more work to do with retrieve over solid jump, but quite happy with everything else, especially DOR which has had the least amount of work go into it
  7. Good girl Trixie!! No weave training for me tonight, went and trained obedience instead and had a really great night Amy, you coming to agility tomorrow night?
  8. I lose Millie in the dark I can spot Ruby easier Flashing collars work well Except when you have a dark long haired dog ;) They work well for me seeing the dog, but I have had instances where I have called Ruby in the dark and I can see her and she's frantically looking around for me - so I need to wear a flashing collar for HER to see me as well!
  9. I lose Millie in the dark I can spot Ruby easier
  10. Me and Toby will be there A warning for anybody going to K9 - the scrub next to the sheds has been cleared and council guys were gobsmacked at the number of BIG snakes so be very aware Can't say I'm surprised, though. Thanks for calling and finding out! I'll be there tonight, what time is everyone planning on getting there? training in the dark ? you guys are very committed ;) Doesn't get dark til almost 8pm :p
  11. Crossing my fingers for you! ;) You're a brave woman, I wouldn't leave a 5 month old Lab inside. Come to think of it, I won't leave my 4 year old Labs inside I can't say they are destructive though, haven't done anything in so long, the most they do is dog holes (but the poo in the hole thing meant no holes for 2 days straight so I am hoping it wasn't just a coincidence and it actually does the trick!!) But I still wouldn't trust them inside :p Little ratbags!! I left mason inside from 8 weeks old with access to our room and the open plan living area. He never destroyed anything or had accidents. He stays outside at this house when i go out tho, he has a verandah here to shelter from all weather conditions. When i am home he is always with me inside. Yes but I had the devil puppy! who has turned out to be so mellow around the house, my mum even commented on how great she turned out as an adult. I could leave her inside no worries, but pair them up and they will get up to mischief together (like playing zoomies in the house and knocking things over!) Yep I did, forgot to answer it Will do so now!
  12. Smart kiddies! Millie started standing directly after her sit signal in COP as I had clicked at the wrong time a couple of times (she sat, I got excited and clicked and she stood at the same time), so it took a bit to inform her that the stand after the sit is not part of the exercise Oh and you know how Beans moves sideways in her drop signal? Ruby is edging sideways in signals when I give her a few after the other (UDX style). It all starts with the stand, she kicks her legs out sideways and it all goes downhill from there. Sigh!! I foresee work next to a barrier in our future
  13. It does come in handy! I have had a solid external door with deadlock installed on that room that leads to the laundry (and the rest of the house) so on bad weather days (like storms or extreme heat) I can leave the sleepout security and glass sliding doors open for them so they have run of that room and the backyard, with no more risk of burglars getting into the rest of the house than getting in through the front door. If they wanna steal my cheapie dining table from Super A-Mart then by all means, go ahead This setup might change though when I get a housemate. If they want to, I will allow them to use that room as their own lounge room (keeps them out of my hair!) Downside though is that room has no aircon or a heater so it really feels the weather extremes! Even just in general that room is always hotter or colder than the rest of the house.

But I still wouldn't trust them inside ;) Little ratbags!! Hmm, you girls have me worried now! :D The last 2 weeks, he has been inside all day and taking himself out to pee. He is a good wee dog....but maybe I should pop home at lunchtime :D You might have a worriesome afternoon if you don't go and check If all is well then the check was well worth the effort for a stress-free arvo :D If I go out for a few hours at night and I don't drop them at mum and dad's for babysitting duties, I tend to leave them in the sleepout which has the dining room table and that's it (it's tiled). I mainly do this because I don't want them barking at night (though they aren't barkers, they will still bark if they think there is something threatening the property). They would be more comfortable outside I think though because I won't leave their beds in there with them, that IS something they will destroy if I'm not home!

  17. Awesome I overheard a lady on the other side of the road telling her two dogs "why can't you walk nicely like those two dogs over there?" Then she looked over to me and commented, which was lovely
  18. I'm only using an iphone cos it was a free hand me down Wanted the Galaxy but I have to pay for that one! I *might* get lucky and be given the Galaxy from my bro in law who gets given new phones from suppliers through his work once he's had a play with it, but he's an Apple person through and through so will be using his iphone until he dies
  19. I do a bit of shaping with my girls, but obviously not enough. Might have to do some more I did some shaping of the UD box with Millie on Saturday though, and to my surprise, she picked it up real quickly that she had to do something with the box and within a couple of minutes she was going to it and sitting in it She did start with trying to pick up the corner of it in her mouth though as that is what we have been working on lately, picking up of things such as dumbell, articles, dummies, water bowls, headbands, etc
  20. Bugger! Oh and I left the weaves up at home while I'm at work so maybe Millie was practicing during the day? Cosmolo, if your phone is in fact the Samsung Galaxy S then I am even more sold on it - was looking into getting one and if it videos like that then woohoo!
  21. I'm sure it won't be embarrassing, can't wait to see it! After my weaving woes with Millie, I am so proud of her! She is doing 6 weaves quite well, now. I just have to work on being able to run down the left hand ide of the weaves with her. When I do this, she tends to look at me and pull out too early, but if I run on the other side or stand back she goes to the end now Will take weaves on the road again this week, she hasn't done straight poles outside of the backyard yet, but we did a lot of beginning work shaping between the 2 poles at the training grounds. I love it when things finally click
