  1. I sure hope the rain does come, would love some!!
  2. What, dogs aren't meant to eat spiders? Daddy long legs can't penetrate skin with their fangs, so the chances of it biting her are pretty slim. Plus you would have drowned it anyway I'm reminded of that childhood song about swallowing a fly and so on and so forth... The hose was pretty strong, it was on jetstream or something and she didn't really enjoy it (but didn't complain, either). Stupid dog!! She tried to eat a bee the other day
  3. Has anybody's elses dopey dogs tried to eat a spider? I was about to hose a bucket out this morning that had a daddy long legs in it when Ruby stuck her head in it and ate the spider!! I had the hose in my hand so I stuck it in her mouth to try and flush it out but not sure where it went! I think she might have swallowed it What are the chances of it biting her? I know they find it hard to bite cos of their long legs, but who knows when it comes to being eaten! I do need to start charging rent to daddy long legs, they all take up residence in my home!
  4. P.S. I love how in the Xmas one she said she had to go as her friends are counting on her to bring the dip :D
  5. :D brilliant, now where can I get a cattle prod ? and who has Christmas trials ? Not sure but I think we should start to Or in the very least, a NYE one!
  6. I started my WC entries the other night but don't have a printer so it went nowhere That and I'm undecided about what to enter who in.
  7. Hope Trixie is ok! My girls have never had anal gland issues until recently I copped a whiff of Ruby's backend when she was laying on the lounge so I asked the vet to check them for me and yep sure enough they (or one) was full. No way I am sticking my finger up her bum unless its an emergency, I'll pay a vet consult for that joyful experience ;) Yup, back to work tomorrow. I am dragging out the going to bed thing so work doesn't come too soon :D I've so enjoyed my days off, I need moooooooore!!
  8. My grass is dry and awful There is one patch in the middle that keeps growing, though, so it needs to be mowed once a week to look respectable otherwise I have this messy middle bit with the edges dead! The whole yard is actually really atrocious Don't think my soil wants to grow grass as this is the 2nd attempt at trying to grow grass since moving in. The soil is full of rocks so I suspect that they are heating up and burning the roots. Gah!!!!! Sorry, totally OT to agility
  9. Yes! And you can wear other shorts or track pants on top if you don't like the "lycra lout look" : )) Your bike should be fine. Just get a service on it from your bike shop. Michael Getting a bicycle serviced is so foreign to me... My girls have never ridden next to a bike, I think I'd have a lot of work to do! And lycra look, no thanks I think I'd scare the other competitors away! ETA: No underwear?! ummmmm, don't think I could get used to this one :p And now I'll be looking at everyone wondering if they're wearing underwear or not
  10. wow Mirawee if you need lessons with your beautiful boy who won group New Years Eve, we are all in big trouble he went like a dream. A BIG congrats again Pretty sure she means obedience lessons We wanna see Banjo debut in CCD sometime this year, mirawee! I need a small lotto win, I need some private lessons with someone too in both obedience and retrieving (and agility :p). Ruby is gosh darnit the hardest friggin dog to train!!! She makes it so difficult for me because her motivation to do much has disappeared She's a fast learner, but needs to know what's in it for her upfront or I get this avoidance behaviour going on
  11. So a tight pair of bike pants make you hurt less afterwards? I only have a cruddy Kmart bike that I think I have ridden twice in 5 years, don't think that will work, will it??
  12. Oh I know the pain of trying to think of a puppy name! I'm forever trying to think of a name for my next one (whenever that may be) and I keep coming back with ones I'm not 100% sold on. It's so hard! Pssst.. chances are the name you choose will already be taken by somebody somewhere anyway so don't worry When I named Ruby I hadn't heard it much before but sure enough every Tom, Dick and Harry has called their dog (and kid!!) Ruby, now!! I know you had your Ruby first What kind of names do you like? Real boy names, or made up ones, or names of things, etc?
  13. Beach this morning was fun Bathed the dogs when I got home and now I am going to have a guilt-free day spent on the lounge watching tv, on my laptop, and I may even sneak a nanna nap in there somewhere as the dogs are dead to the world
  14. Awww are you getting excited?! When does pup come home and what's his name going to be?
  15. I got there at 7.30 just in time to see the end of the Aussies in the ring. Had a visit with mirawee and ozjen then went to sit with RallyValley and Ptolomy. RV and I didn't leave til about 12.30 ;) (nothing better to do, at least for me )
  16. Congrats Sally and Kenzie What a great way to end the year ;) Good stuff too xena98, your dogs are superstars!
  17. Looking good Tassie And I mean that in relation to Rory's weaves AND your backyard No wonder I wanna move to Tasmania ;)
  18. Sounds like it was a great night! Congrats to everyone's passes! Wish we had a trial here in NYE, instead I went to a show and watched. Left around 12.30am, I was soooooo ready for bed LOL. No idea how long everyone else stayed for, but there weren't that many people left though.
  19. Where were you?!?! Didn't see you last night!!
  20. Congrts mirawee!!!! Yes last night was lovely, I'd much prefer spending NYE in the company of dogs and dog friends than go out drinking or stay at home :D HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY to my Ruby!!!!!
  21. Yes Although I forgot I was going to make some biscuits - might have to bring some Lindt chocolate instead For those competing tonight, gates won't open before 5pm (Bevan is on holidays) so don't rock up at 3pm to set up I won't be there before 6.30pm though Aww I want biccies! But if you're offering Lindt's instead You best because I want someone to video the Tollers going around the ring! :D Well I best go then! Hope you have your own camera cos mine isn't charged! Hope I can find ya's! I assume on different sides of the grounds Should I bring anything food wise? No time to bake obviously but I'm headed to the shops soon...
  22. To go tonight or not go tonight... that is the question!!!
  23. Thanks, I think I will go back and try the stand, but it's her getting a handle of the verbal that is frustrating me, she just doesn't get the verbal even when she can do it with just the signal from the side brilliantly. I am thinking she can do the signal stand if we ever made it to UDX one day, so I'm not concerned too much about that, but I would like her to be able to stand when I am in front of her for UDX COP, and well, just cos I want her to in general! I've been playing around with Ruby's COP UDX style and she's doing well when there isn't much distance between us But she's always been good with verbal only COP ever since I could remember, it's just now a matter of teaching her not to gravitate towards me when I am further away from, her. That's awesome about Cider being entered in Strat Pairs!! Who is her partner? I have Ruby partnered up but now her dogwalk has gone to poo again so the other dog will have to do that part I am worried about the teams event now, though :D I have been trying to teach Millie to weave so she can run as reserve in the team event, but not sure she is going to be ready. Maybe by the Classic, but not for the Cloverdale one! Oh and yep, totally unmotivated to train. I did a few COP last night for their dinner and that is the first bit of training I have done with them in weeks
  24. Have someone hold open the closed part and gradually start lowering it. Yep and perhaps throw an isqueak through it. Millie loves the chute so much due to the isqueak being used that once she received her isqueak she would circle back and run through the chute herself with isqueak in mouth She even tried to run back through it the wrong way but thought it was a hoot cos it meant isqueaks to her!
  25. That's too cute My 2 are usually in bed before me... sometimes I have to convince them to stay up with me If that is the case, last stop before bed is outside to the toilet (for them not me!) then when I let them in they go straight to bed Or if we do an early morning wee stop on my sleepin weekends, I let them back in and say "back to bed" and off the trot back to bed to let me sleep in some more
