That's what I like to think too

I bet Scoota stole one of them for himself and listed the other on ebay to make a quick buck!! I'll pay good money if I can find a fully functional SFE on ebay though!! She almost pulled off the SFE though - she was staying quite still until he just lingered over her for what seemed like an eternity! I need to train the SFE with people crouched over her too, not just touching her

Love how he throws the treat to her too -
YUUUUUGE congrats to Ptolomy and crew! Especially little Lexi and her CDX pass! And my brag of the evening is I got to have puppy toller cuddles ;) I did the babysitting with her mum in the ring right in front of Cider, so of course she went a little skitzo! She's grown sooooo much, no longer a little flufflball! But oh so cute ;) She was laying in my lap getting belly tickles I do want to know who came in overnight and stole Ruby's downs They had disappeared completely! Stupid down-stealing fairies

RubyStar replied to fainty_girl's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
He calls dragging a dog around on a halter combined with some token treats, positive reinforcement? :D I wouldn't let this guy demo on my dog either! -
If Only It Was This Easy......

Oh gosh, if ONLY!!! -
Awesome, congrats Rivsky and River!! :D

Ozjen, where did you buy the quoits from? I'd like to teach Ruby this trick

I really hope so! I went around adding things to my cart last week (mainly ball toys) and the postage came out at like $60! Was it free shipping on orders over $100 last year? Even if you have to have a minimum spend to get free postage, I'd be in! My bunch of toys alone came in at over $100! And I'm sure there is plenty more I could buy

Good luck tomorrow, africandreams and Ptolomy! Wish I was there! But I'm off to Seaworld today I can't wait to get back into training/trialling when I get home. Who is your judge today africandreams? Let us know how you get on!

Obedience Jumps - Where Do You Get Them?
RubyStar replied to Zug Zug's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Wow, good work!!! I read the instructions posted and still got lost I'd like to try make some towards the end of the year, so I'm hoping I eventually work it out! -
Was that to me? I think I may just get involved with one of mine, at least to start with - probably Millie, she has the better nose! If you are interested in giving it a go next tracking season we could always go together and share the cost of the petrol. Can't say I like the early mornings but as its a seasonal dog activity I think I would survive it. Like you I would prefer to have other beginers to start with. Yes sounds like a plan!!

WOW congrats to Seita and LP!!!! Awesome scores!!!!

Here is a thread full of tips for those new to the obedience ring! http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=159876&hl=

Just wanted to add to the bolded bit. When the judge asks you to about turn, don't automatically turn around to face your dog and stop. You must keep walking back towards your dog until they tell you to halt. Sometimes they will say "about turn and halt", that is the only time you can stop as soon as you turn around.

Congrats to Izzi and Pebbles! and to Zamba! Way to go, guys!! Isn't it funny that you don't realise it until someone tells you or you watch it back? You know they're there somewhere, but just don't know where and if they are paying attention. I was very pleased when I got out of the ring on Friday night as I knew she had stayed with me, but when I watched the video back, my jaw dropped! She stayed close to me, looked up at me, and that tail was wagging the entire time! You should definitely get someone to video you next time. I haven't stopped watching my video as it's the best work I've seen out of Ruby yet

Hope ozjen finds her way in here to give us her brag!
-
Very big congratulations to Ptolomy and her gang! Very well done, as always!!! No brags from my end unfortunately, last night's brag has taken me over my brag quota for quite a while!
-
Thanks huski, I am so proud I can't stop watching it Can't wait to see your vid, TerraNik!!
-
Huge congrats to Ptolomy and Rivsky for last night! And to Deb and Caffy! Everyone did great, regardless of whether we qualified or not Congrats to TerraNik, that is so heartbreaking to hear he did that at the last second! I've uploaded my Novice round from last night to youtube if anybody is interested .Apologies that for most of it, we appear as a dot on the screen due to my crappy camera that doesn't zoom while filming! Doesn't help to have a light coloured dog, she blended into the grass and lights

OK, I'll be the first Perthy to report on tonight's WA State Obedience Trial I entered Ruby in Novice tonight, both our first time. 5-6 weeks ago, I was ready to pull the plug on entering the States/Nationals this weekend. Ruby just wasn't ready and I was stuck in a training hole with no idea how to get out. My saviour, Ptolomy, worked with us and convinced me to give it a go, and boy I'm glad I did! We scored: Heel Free: 35/40 ;) ;) Stand For Exam: 0/30 Recall: 38/40 Change of Position: 30/30 So yes, we bombed on the SFE, which I am not surprised about because she just isn't solid on that yet, but my aim for tonight was to get through the Heel Free without her running off to greet the judge! Not only did she stay with me, but she didn't lag, she didn't miss a single position, and we got a score I am very pleased with!! So I came out of that ring so ecstatic that anyone would have thought I had passed She did me proud with her stays as well (I did the stays regardless of failing ringwork because, well, I wanted to and that's my prerogative ). We've been having trouble with her sit stays of late, where she likes to lay down not very far into it She leaned down twice which could have ended in her laying down, but she recovered and held it Then, in the down stays, the dog next to her rolled around and then got up and got extremely close to Ruby's face. Ruby's tail was wagging furiously, ready to get up and play, but she held that down stay so very well!!! Dog in her face and all! Sooo proud! So my highlights of the night were Heel Free and the stays - way to go, Ruby!!!!! Now the real challenge is getting through the heel work 2 nights in a row Big thankyou to Ptolomy Sorry for the long brag, but this is yuuuge for me and my Crazy Labrador!!!! ;)
