For me they're too distracting like that and the viewer cant really see enough of the photo to know if they'd like to buy it or not. I suppose I can make the water mark brighter but smaller, oh the possibilities are endless!
-
Yeah, I know it's not really visible but we're a small friendly club and I figured if they're interested in buying one, they'll ask and I can then take the conversation privately, I haven't put a phone number or address on my separate page Dogs of Phwoar because I dont want it "out there" Yes know what you mean, it's impossible to run with the fox and hunt with the hounds, or be all things to all people. Whichever way you handle it there are teensy problems. Just put a strong watermark with visible contact detail and see what people say. thanks both for your opinions and advice.here's a couple with more prominent watermarks 5F6A2585dppt wm by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A2577dppt wm by kirislin, on Flickr

It's not a sales site, this is what I'm struggling with. It's just to display them on the clubs facebook site and still with the main intention of promoting the club. I would imagine the only people interested in buying the photos are the owners of the actual whippets. I haven't created a website and I dont know that I want to. I have created a separate facebook page to display other action shots I've taken and I suppose it might evolve/lead on to creating an actual photography site but I still dont honestly see myself as a photograper. I just feel that I've given away enough photos to private individuals, so now, if they like them so much, they can buy them. Does that make sense? I will try a few with a more visible watermark though, thanks for your opinions.

Everyone is different.

Thanks minimax. I can increase the watermark so it show up more, and I can reduce the size and move it where ever I want, these are also things I'm undecided about.

I love the poppies, they're one of my favourite flowers.

I never started out with the intention of selling my photos but I've been taking pics for about 4 years now for a whippet racing club to help raise their profile, and it's worked. I must have taken thousands of pics for them and never sold one. I've decided to offer them for sale now if people want them, I'll still display them on the clubs page for free, but now I'm adding a watermark. This is unfamiliar territory for me. I want the photo to be clearly visible, but the watermark to just intrude enough so that if they want a copy of the photo they will buy it. I would like opinions on what I've put on. 5F6A2509dppt wm by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A2514dppt wm by kirislin, on Flickr

My 50mm had to go back to Canon for repair under warranty a couple of years ago, I thought they sent it to Sydney, but I'm not sure, I just assumed it and didn't ask questions. That's amazing, and a bit sad that they send them OS, just another job Aussies dont have anymore.

I cannot advise, but I just wanted to wish you well and I hope you get the advice you need. -
When you say the Mac cant see the camera, did you all download the software that came with your camera?
-
Didn't you notice the little fly on the wall above you, that was me. I was saying check DOL check DOL
-
How would they know? What if you genuinely bought it as a student, finished school and went on to sell your photos? disclaimer, I dont use photoshop, I'm just curious

Yes, I meant to say congratulations too. It's wonderful to hear a successful rescue story like that.

so she can do the Paul Hogan thing in Crocodile Dundee. I wonder what she's got in her there's some curly coat by the looks of things.

that first butterfly has a real 1970's outfit on

I know an old man like this. He got a beautiful rescue dog who was in almost perfect condition, and now she is massive, I'd guess she's probably at least 10kgs overweight, if not more. People like that equate feeding with love.

Puck doing his Cheetah stalk after his brother Tag. Puck does this alot, but I've never seen Tag do it. They're so different in their personalities. 5F6A2098dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

How cute is Saxon, with that tongue

It's a fairly iggyish thing to do, some whippets do it but not as delicately as this little girl, she is the essence of iggyiness. Her owner is planning a litter from her when she has her next season. I would so love a sable bitch from her, but I dont think I can. I am smitten with this girl. Ah thanks. She sure is beautiful. Is it totally out of the question to get one of her pups? For you??? Not at all! For me, it would be madness.

You're welcome!!!! I was wondering about postage, I'm hoping to an order with another DOLer. Perhaps that's what a few of you can do, just to help my enabling title along.

if given the chance all my whippets would be fat with backs like dining room tables. Feathers sister is huge, I would guess she is about 13kgs when she should be about 8kgs.
-
No worries, I knew they'd appeal to alot of people here. I've noticed they use some of the same "props" for different breeds, like the club chair and the lion, and even the little hare or bunny running for its life. I'm just happy I've found the little iggy reproduction, I've loved that sculpture for years but only seen it as a china casting that's usually in the US or UK and sells for over $1000 from memory when it comes up on ebay.

And? That is exactly what I first wrote, and then deleted it. I didn't know you could have trolling photos, until now.
